I stayed at Saccharum Resort & Spa in December 2020.
This 5-star hotel is 35 km from Madeira's capital Funchal.
The large hotel occupies three buildings.
The hotel has three swimming pools in addition to the spa.
The outdoor pools are beautiful, but the water in December is too cold for swimming.
Most of the hotel territory is located on the rooftop, on a hillside: viewpoint, garden, swimming pools.
I paid for this room (2 adults + 1 child, sea view, all inclusive) € 140 per night.
An unexpected disadvantage is the weak wi-fi in the room. To watch RUclips before bed, I had to go out into the hallway.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner at the hotel are organized as a buffet
There is a pebble beach next to the hotel. But it is better to walk 800 meters to the artificial lagoon, where there is sand and no waves.

is this real in 2020? in 2019 ther was a big repair on the hill/clif because of the dammage of the rock slide...

@@RecommendedHotels how is the situation now in Calheta? is the boulevard safe? and what about the earaly days restaurant Rocha Mar? (The red building on the road side) is it stil abannded? or is it a restaurant again? its was heavy dammeged of the collition of the rock slide :( someboddys life has taken because of this :( sorry for my bad english typing hope you understand what im typing? ;) :p
