GL2 absolutely Was rushed. When you stop to look at the bugs, the missing features, and a lot of the artwork for the game- because there are several gaps in the color and line work, several instances of there being stray lines for different assets -you can tell. There’s also the fact that they “had updated planned to roll out,” but had to stop after the second update because- and this is not meant to be offensive, simply stating the truth as someone who has been around since Gachaverse -Luni fell back into the habit of either overestimating his ability to do something quickly or just plain procrastination. As someone who took several college business classes (I’m twenty, for context), the reason for this is Very Likely because of the Chibimation announcement. Luni’s had a monopoly on little dress up games like this for the better part of the last decade simply because there was no interest from other people in making another one, which has led to general acceptance of his procrastination and honestly lazy dev work. I’ve always found it funny that GL2 was steamrolled out that quickly after the Chibimation announcement. When you stop to look at the fact that for years Luni refused to update Gacha Club because he “lost the files,” but the moment it was threatened to be taken off of the Apple app store he somehow managed to find all of those files and update the game… it paints a picture that is unfortunately really obvious. There’s nothing wrong with taking a while to do things and for there to be some bugs, but it’s frustrating that Luni continues to display patterns and habits of this kind of stuff, and then people say things like “you shouldn’t criticize them because devwork is hard!” Things are hard in all different sorts of fields, but you still criticize a bridge without guardrails or with gaps in the asphalt.
@@candle-corpse Another thing is that Luni says he can't update Gacha Club anymore because he lost the files, which genuinely sucks for his community because some people just like to use Gacha Club over GL2. But if you look at Gacha Nebula, the creator not only works with the bugs but adds more to it! It's so impressive what they've done in terms of adjustments and to my knowledge is currently one of the most advanced Mods. How can someone who's so much younger than him add so much more to his game even without the official files? I think it's just an excuse to abandon his project just like with all the others. Every single game has essentially been abandoned for what's new, every time there's been a new game he's always just left the others in the dust. It's disappointing tbh. I'm pretty sure you're right on why he made GL2. Chibimation was getting popular, everyone knows that it's going to be a big hit when it comes out, he wanted to make something more advanced with stuff he's been seeing people beg him to add so he could still be relevant. Luni left for what 4 years? And he just suddenly comes back with an announcement that GL2 is being made? Like he didn't even give anyone a warning when he left (to my knowledge), he just left without a word leaving his entire community hanging. We genuinely only stayed alive because of a lot of people getting into animations and because of the Mods. Another thing that makes me think that he only made GL2 to essentially compete against Chibimation is that you can't make Mods with GL2. Apparently it's about how complex the code is or to prevent inappropriate content but isn't it weird how after Gacha Nebula came out a long with other big Mods at the time he just suddenly said "you can't make Mods with this game"? He's never really hated Mods out right, not to the point he just banned people for making them (unsure if it's true but I did see a video where this person made their layout on Gacha Club pink (the video wasn't just about that, it was talking about something else and it was just a story, there was no proof of this), so they could see they layout more easily, and a few people wanted to know how to do it because not only is it cool but can be helpful but they ended up being banned from the official Gacha Club server at the time (which is now deleted weirdly enough)). Idk I just find it odd, especially when his excuse is to make sure people don't make inappropriate content when he literally made an app with no color limit, so many adjustments- Come on! You can't say it's to prevent NSFW stuff from happening but then make a fucking app that can let you make just about anything 😭 There's even an ad in the game itself that pops up talking about NSFW shit! You can't be serious! I genuinely just think at this point he's only making dress up games so we can keep playing and making the ads pop up, which do give him money btw. He has another game already with a full on website that he's been teasing for literal years. He wants to keep making money from his games. The Mods, even if they have ads, don't give him money in any way so he most likely banned Mods for GL2 because he wants to make sure, that for a fact, he's getting that cash.
@LostSoul2004 You're absolutely right for all of this but I do wanna add on to this, because he definitely did ban someone for having a mod, I remembered not too long ago a creator made a video about getting Banned from the GL2 server simply because their background was only a different color scheme due to helping them see the poses better. When ppl asked them about it they got banned simply because it was modded!! The fact someone was banned just for having a slightly modded version to help to see things is honestly very wild to me.
@@LostSoul2004 The thing with mods is that they are not mods. They use cracked versions of the game and are against the tos. The reason why gl2 can't have mods is because the tos are being enforced.
