Rockabilly is one of those old types of music such as Surf Rock, Psychobilly and also Neo Rockabilly (revival) that needs more covers, official videos & conversations about 'em. Glad to get to know ya my new friend! Yes Rockabilly is tragically under talked about over here in North America. I mean yeah, its here & has always been here but I can tell you as a well-traveled American that most fellow North Americans listen to modern day Dance-Pop, Pop Rock and Hip Hop/Pop Rap. Sadly Rockabilly plus Neo Rockabilly is only referenced if an older musician passes away in the media. 🤔YES! This is a great music genre! Does Japan (outside of those street dances that I've seen) dig Neo Rockabilly vibes a lot? Stay cool, cat!! 🐈⬛🎸
I'm glad you said that. Thank you! Japan is not as major as the U.S., and the Japanese tend to prefer a little harder rock and metal music from the 70's onward. And Japanese are not good at swinging rhythms (triplets) like rockabilly, and often do not swing correctly. So they prefer rhythms like 8 or 16 beats. This is largely due to the influence of folk songs and children's songs that Japanese people have heard for generations, as well as music education in schools.
