Sometimes it's just so interesting when you go outside of a regular pattern in your art style. I'd like to see you do more comparable tests. I'm sure it's helping other artists to see the results too.
I'm pretty new using pour paint. I accidentally bought the transparent white and used it as a base. So when I added black, it became the most unique thing I've ever done. Then I found this video you did and I was so glad you did the experiment. I am anxious to try more because the designs are very cool. Thank you for everything, by the way. You are very talented!
I can see why you prefer the titanium white one BUT i just love the transparent ones wispiness - almost as though you have used watercolours.....I am so glad you did this experiment Rinske :) xxx
Transparent vs opaque results in major different outcomes. Not enough info is found on RUclips regarding this information. So glad you are addressing it here.
Well as usual I’m learning. I was aware of opaque, and transparent or translucent from my art classes years ago. I wasn’t aware there was a transparent white. This opens up all kinds of possibilities with pours and results. Consistencies are the other thing affecting results. I’m so excited to see more of this. The white doesn’t take over, as you say it mixes. I actually like both of them.
Greetings from Yemen 🇾🇪 .. I've been following you since 3 years, watching your videos is what's make me calm and relax in the crisis and war we are living in Yemen since 2015.
So glad you made this video. It took me 6 -7 months to figure out why my white-based pours were looking so "fluid and smokey" against some of my other ones. Then I compared the paints and saw that it was semi-opaque. I have since then purchased new white paint and been waiting to give it another go. Just came across this video and it has calmed my boggled mind and exciting to try again lol. Thank you!
Thank you, Rinske, for trying it oput and sharing the results wirth us! That was an interesting experiment! I also thought about using another white as a base coat than Titanic white from Amsterdam but after this I will not. At least I will detain from transparent whites. Thanks again!
Love when you do experiments like this! It was great to see you do the transparent pour a second time to see if anything changed. I do like the one with opaque white more but the results were really interesting!
That is an odd difference. The transparent white painting looks like a crazy space monster. Thanks so much for the demonstration. It was quite intriguing.
Thank you for this. It might have been interesting to see how they each dried. Maybe the transparent would be better in a different type of pour such as a travelling open cup so the colours are more vibrant. I don't know. But it was lovely of you to share your experiment so many thanks. 💕
I really liked this experiment! I also liked the left better than right, today...when I watched it before I liked the other better...Different days different ways! Love all you do!
Wow this is such lesson at list for me, I couldn’t understand why my paint was doing so many different reactions sometimes so now I know. Thank you so much
I always use titanium white because of the results you just showed. I was going crazy with some projects I was doing, I ran out of titanium white and used another white and my composition just turned into a blob of paint sitting on the canvas. I scraped them several times figuring it was me and being tired. The following day I realized it could have been the white that I was using because that was the only thing I had changed so I went out and got some more titanium white and my pieces turned out beautiful. It was the white. Who knew...
I love that you did this experiment; because, while the transparent mixing white might not be preferable to the titanium white for pouring, it could be used to create other interesting effects. I love the way the orange spread and blended beautifully on its own! I’m going to have to invest in some to play with.
Loved seeing the experiment. Seems like the white pigment is needed if you want to keep your composition tight. I would love to see something with layering colors that are all the same opacity and how that would effect the pour.
Could you do a video explaining how you decide the directions to blow with the dryer and how you choose which parts to mouth blow? I'd like to understand how you choose the areas to mouth blow - I usually think it looks good and then you blow more! Also, how do you hold the dryer and at what angle? I think your work is stunning and want to get tips to practice.
Rinske, I would be interested to see the difference between using opaque and semi opaque in your Dutch Pour. Perhaps one with all opaque, one with layering Oprah’s and semi transparent, and one with a combination of both
Wow, what a difference! The transparent white canvas looked like it was much more difficult to control the colors. Looks like the yellow completely bled out into the transparent white. Great Experiment Rinske, Thank you!🥰💕
Thanks a lot for teaching us such things! Great! I first of all learned that there is such a thing as transparent white. And you provided the explanation why my first try outs on Dutch pour resulted in such so different "flow" of colours compared to what I saw on your channel - it must have been because my first purchase of white colour must have been transparent!!😁 Thanks for enlightening me !👍 One idea came into my mind - what about opaque ground but transparent white around the colours before you blow over? Would that give a "third" result? Love to see more of your great "crazy" experiments. You are so inspiring! 😍🔥♥️
THANKS!!!! That was so interesting to see how the choice of paint you use can affect the outcome!! I have a LOT to learn!!!!!!!! This artform is Fascinating & I'm so glad I found your channel!!! 😍😍🤩❤
I wonder what would happen if you used opaque on the base but transparent for the blow over part. Would it keep it from spreading but allow the brightness to shine through?
Really interesting results Rinske. I tried Zinc White (transparent) during a lockdown last year when I couldn’t get titanium white, and I didn’t like the transparent white result with that either. Titanium white is amazing. Your paint and water is the best for dutch pours. Xx Kelly
I found your art channel and I am starting to try Dutch pour art. It’s not as easy as you make it look! I enjoy your narrative- when you show talk about what you see and think about the piece. I also learn from how you “fix” things you don’t like. That would make. Great compilation tutorial!
Hi Rinske, sorry about the lockdown again ! Very interesting experiment ….I’ve never heard of Mixing White ? I just love your titanium white result ! Gorgeous ….the mixing white seems like there’s a lot less control . Love all your videos ! The best Dutch pours ever ! ❤️🤗
I'm going to buy some mixing white tomorrow and try it in a flip cup, and also mixed with pearlescent Mod Podge in a straight pour and a dip of some kind. Thank you for the inspiration! 💗
I’d love to see the same base but transparent vs opaque colours for the puddle. Also maybe a complete transparent vs opaque painting. Also I’d love to see how they dry. I wonder if the transparent white would dry differently? I used a transparent magenta as a base once and it didn’t dry well. Some parts were lighter than others. Wondering if the white (or any other transparent base colour) would do that for you as well?
I actually like them both. The translucent is more abstract, the colors are lovely. The opaque is more realistic, but I think that they should be kept. 💜
Great experiment! I wonder what would happen if you did a transparent white background but used titanium white around your circle of colours, or vice versa! Maybe the best of both worlds?
Fascinating to see these side by side while they are created. I’m curious to know which pink/magenta and yellow you used. Was guessing quinacridone rose and primary yellow, transparent and semi. Just wondering
Very interesting 🧐 how quickly the yellow begins to merge with the white. Thank You Rinske and to Mark for the suggestion. I wonder what would happen if you mixed the pouring white with opaque white and tried the colors again ?
In the Arteza 60 set (their white is not opaque) & wonder is made it thinner it might just do the same thing & didn’t know they even sold a transparent white on purpose! Ty just so pretty both of them!
Thanks for doing this. I’d seen mixing white yesterday and wondered what the difference was. I much prefer the opaque white, I don’t like the way the colours spread on the mixing white canvas. Well done 👍
Great experiment. I wonder how the one with the transparent base would turn out IF you didn't blow the base over the top of your colors. Just blow the colors out. Just a thought!
The opaque paint shows a lot more of the movement of the paint, has more movement in the painting. The transparent paint seems to be flatter with not as much movement. I like the colour combination, especially the Van Dyke brown

Hello Rinske! I'm going to take it today. I'm so exited in Argentina to lean with you!!
Sometimes it's just so interesting when you go outside of a regular pattern in your art style. I'd like to see you do more comparable tests. I'm sure it's helping other artists to see the results too.
Thank you for this video, remember, any videos like these with comparisons is needed for those of us new to pours
Wow ! A huge difference!
Amazing the difference between the two. I like the Titanium White better. Thanks so much for sharing.
Thanks for sharing this experiment with us. Can't believe the difference between opaque and translucent bases.
I'm pretty new using pour paint. I accidentally bought the transparent white and used it as a base. So when I added black, it became the most unique thing I've ever done. I would choose the opaque colour.
Thank you for showing us the different effects of each type of paint.
Greetings from Yemen 🇾🇪 .. I've been following you since 3 years, watching your videos is what's make me calm and relax in the crisis and war we are living in Yemen since 2015.
Thank you so much. I've seen my colors fade into my white, and now I know why. So helpful!
Same here! I'm like 😳😯 now it all makes sense......I need opaque white
I’d love to see an opaque base with opaque colors and transparent white on top. And vice-versa! Try mixing both!!
Actually really like the transparent one versus the opaque. I don't like it when the colors blend and get washed out. Great experiment!
Thank you Rinske. Greatly appreciated the lesson. 👍❤

Different but I think you have magic hands! Every wave of your hands seems to enchant the paint into a dream state, and takes us with. Thank you.!
I'm SO HAPPY to watch you again !

Me too
@@ghassan1hsbc she's THE BEST !!

This was a very enlightening and fascinating experiment 😮
I never thought the "bolder" cells were caused by the base paint.
Thanks for sharing

Wow that’s crazy! Love them both!
Thank you Rinske this was very helpful, interesting and cool to watch. 🤗👌🖖👍
I love watching and listening to you, you’re wonderful
Awesome tutorial Rinske👍 beautiful!
Merci beaucoup, enfin, pour cette experience!

I kinda like both. The colors u used I love them.
Really enjoy seeing u pros still doing experiments. Your a very talented artist and I'm honored to learn from u!

Wow, I wouldn't scrape that one on the right, it's gorgeous!
Interesting! Thank you for doing this experiment so we can all see how different paints bring different results!
It's nice to see these types of comparisons. I am learning more of the differences ..Thank you...ps like the opaque better 😀😍🥰
Thank you for the great presentation!
Helpful experiment! Thanks Rinske! I agree with you-stick with titanium white the reactions and composition much more pleasing.
Thanks for showing us this. Very helpful!
Great information and beautiful paintings!❤️
Very interesting Rinske, thank you for testing and sharing! 👍💙

Wow! I love the color combo, so bright and pretty. I definitely prefer the more opaque style.
Thank you for sharing this technique the difference is big you artwork is always beautiful
The difference is stunning. I'm sure the transparent base would have it's place depending on the desired results. 👍❤ Great experiment!
Very beautiful love ❤️ big difference.

Thank you for sharing this experiment!
Very beautiful painting, the cells really popped out amazingly. thanks for sharing.
Thank you! I think you just answered a question I had about my own pours. Never thought to check my paints' transparency 🤦♀️
Good to see you again
I wonder what would happen if you used opaque on the base but transparent for the blow over part. Would it keep it from spreading but allow the brightness to shine through?
That’s what I was just wondering. I might have to try.
I was thinking the same thing!😃

Very very beautiful..... 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Oohh! I forget to look at wether it’s opaque or transparent! This will make a huge difference for me.
That was interesting, now I have to go out and buy plenty of opaque white 😄😄
Love them both and the spreading white certainly gives a different look than titanium white. Depends on what you like! Great experiment Rinske!
So sorry for the hard lockdown 😕
Thank you for sharing this helpfully experiment. 👍🍀
