I love these little old add-your-own-motor benchtop tools. They seem like they were quite popular in the 30s and 40s. I have a mini table saw that I got in already restored shape and it's a bit terrifying.
......no music, no yapping.... just right and sped up with all the little noises when working... perfect for going to sleep thanks for being fresh on youtube.
What makes these videos magic is I start thinking hey I could do that! Then by the end I’m like boy am I glad I didn’t have to do that there’s just no way I’d ever figure out that one part!
I loved how the board flew off the table there at the end because it's sooo slick... and the 1980s cartoon sound effect was the cherry on top!!! Great work man...
As always a great video and another tool saved. We forget in these days of big hardware stores and the internet just what it meant for a person to get one of these in their workshop. It’s great seeing these mundane old items being treated with the same love and passion as the first owner when it arrived and they unboxed it! Please keep up the good work
Very nice machine there. I was surprised you didn't have to fight the fasteners that much. You cracked me with the clamps, saying I have too many clamps is like saying there is too much bacon on my sandwich. Words that are never spoken by anyone. ;-) Looking forward to more videos.
I ❤YOUR CHANNEL!! When I was a kid, I would spend weekends at my dad's house. He was an auto mechanic and I'd wake up to the sounds of all kinds of tools being used. Thank you for uploading.
8:50 It was at this point that Hand Tool Rescue realized ... that he f*cked up. I found the slow withdraw of your drill after the fact a comical visual. Another fine video that breaks up my day by breaking me up.

Beautiful restore on a great old tool. It looks good for another 50 years. I especially appreciate the improvements made to blade tracking and bevel clampdown. Well done!
The level of attention to detail you give these antiquated mechanisms is fantastic. giving them new life is an absolute enjoyable experience to have i do look forward to your next video
Someone just gave me one they was going to scrap. Mine looks bigger then his but looks the same. I'm going to restore the one I got. Honestly it is built like a tank. I don't think u can buy them like the quality of these old bandsaws
Hand Tool Rescue - that part and the part where your spinning the wheel in the drill and it falls out and you slowly back away had me laughing my ass off.
I just acquired a 12 in Duro bandsaw while doing research or video popped up can't wait to watch the full video thanks for your due diligence on these projects
Nice! I have one of these, inherited from my Father in Law, replaced with a new model a few years ago I'm ashamed to say. Maybe I should be restoring it???
I really enjoy the comedy you put in your videos! I also how innovative you are when you need to replace stuff. The brass door knob and wrench trick was really cool.
Seriously one of my favorite restores yet - would love to have that one in my shop. Feels like you made it better than new - and gave it some character in the process.
My father has the same band saw in the old wood shed. I have used many times, I'm scared of the thing. It's in disrepair to say the least, I never thought the thing would be this old. Thanks for the great video!

Just a heads up, the height of the upper blade guide is set to the thickness of the wood being sawn, plus about a 1/4" to 3/8" for safe working clearance. Also the clamp scenario was a hoot and I also liked the drill spinning one of the main pulleys. I would like to see much more of your shows.Great job. GOD bless.
Just recently discovered your channel and love it, love watching you take an old tool, clean it, restore it and make is usable again. But you maintain it's authenticity as well which is what I think makes what you do really fantastic.
Very nice job. Those wheels and knobs buffed up quite nicely. The comedy was funny (that is important!). I love how you make very job-specific tools to work on the restoration. Great video, thank you!
Greetings from my corrupt Country U.S.A. lol.Man ive been following your channel since it was pretty much brand new i think under 500 subscribers. You have such an incredible talent in restoring, that just sucks me in Every time! (Thats what she said) lol But seriously your channel has Grown so big!! Bro Congratulations!!! I know you work Damn hard! Restoring tools but Also for these AWESOME EDITS!!! YOU DO SO WELL!!! i know how time consuming editing is! I also Love the Little funny humor you add to some of your Videos lol i have the same sense of humor lol. Whats so funny too is i was watching bandsaw videos and then a notification popped up with this Video of you restoring this little bandsaw! Hahaha Anyways bro Thank you so Much for the INCREDIBLE Work you do and Share! I really appreciate your hard work and Dedication to your channel and Followers Take care Man and Thanks again!
Jack Smith It was more of a Joke. But i agree it is probably not as bad as say North Korea? Lol but like you said our government just lies and covers up Everything. Uts sad how corrupt The World is.
I had that same exact saw. I used it to make long board skate boards. Boy the good old days. Good to see you doing great stuff like this. Keep up the great work. And thank you.
Dude this video is fantastic. My parwnts bought me this exact same band saw when I was like 12 when I started carving decoys. They bought it used at a yard sale. It was rough then. Time and myself wasnt very good to it. It was definately a work horse, but has a lot of sentimental value to me. Ive been wanting to restore it for years. Just never took the time to do it. This video gave me the jump start kick in the tail to get started on it. I think om gonna steal your brass door knob idea. Mine has the knob still on it. Yours just looks alot cooler. Thanks for the insperation. Keep the videos coming. Ive watched most of what you have since I saw this one. A tone of good stuff man, a ton. Keep'em comin.
Thanks,Enjoyed it and the humor. I just finished a 1955 Sears upright bandsaw that was a flood survivor , Not quite as fast as you, lol. but it is cutting straight wood again. Later from Hot Locked down Texas.
Lovely restoration. I have a nearly identical saw that bears a Montgomery Wards Powr-Kraft logo. I put new tires on it, cleaned it up enough to work well, and now keep it in the kitchen as a little butcher saw. It's dandy for splitting game hens while they're still frozen and saves me a trip to the big band saw in the shop. Now, however, you've shamed me into really tearing into it and making it gleam.
You have a great investment there. I think I would use the brass to make the center hole for the blade. I would also put at least a 1/2 horse variable speed motor on the band saw. What a great piece of antique shop equipment.
I had this exact machine when in the first years I started doing guitar repair . Found it in BuyAndSellMontreal. It was such a total piece of crap, no amount of fiddling would work. Brass on brass sleeves? My gosh, never again. I was glad when time came that I bought a large Delta one, and put it out in the backlane for the scavengers. You sure did a great job on this one . Then again, you do a great job on all of them. Thanks for this.

Wonderful restoration. I’m lucky to have found this. I received this same saw this past weekend and am looking forward to restoring it. Thank you! 🙌👏
Using the bandsaw to make the insert...I like it!

it's refreshing to see a little comedy in the restoration process, you make me laff.. keep up the great work. :) :D
Don't tell me what to do! I'll do poor work if I want to, haha.

No music, no drama,no fancy equipment,no led lights....
Love it.
Now you know that Band saw never looked that nice when it was new from the factory back in the 40's great restoration you did... ;-)
You seem to have a deep affinity and respect for the aging tools of the past. It's fun to watch someone who loves restoring history.
Love the variable speed control! The table-tilt-lock "handle" was a great idea. Still could've used another clamp though. 😉
As always a great video and another tool saved.

I wish I could find older tools like this. Restore and rebuild the real tools. Love this channel.

Yeah that made me laugh too.
Glad you enjoyed that!
the comical "Testing" of the non stick surface at 22:17 was also equally hilarious.

My grandfather had a 2 man chainsaw in his barn for years. I last saw it 20 years ago. Hope you can get it!
I haven’t seen a modern mini band saw built that well. I would love to purchase that saw. Very nicely done. I enjoy your sense of humor too.
Someone just gave me one they was going to scrap. Mine looks bigger then his but looks the same. I'm going to restore the one I got. Honestly it is built like a tank. I don't think u can buy them like the quality of these old bandsaws

The comedic value of this video isn't to be underestimated. Top notch as always
Gorgeous old saw....well done!!! 130 thumbs down obviously came from nubs who don't know which end of a hammer to hold.
I just picked up this very same Duro Metal saw. Excited to refurbishe it. Thank you for this beautiful video.
When you backed the drill out of the frame ..... I was dyin laughin !!!
I just acquired a 12 in Duro bandsaw while doing research or video popped up can't wait to watch the full video thanks for your due diligence on these projects
Yea!!! Just what I need this morning. Been a bad week! 👍👍👍
pats fan?
wastegate 😂😂😂 Nope! Bama baby!!!
I own my own business, been a string of Monday’s about two weeks long.
Does anyone else find these videos immensely relaxing?
Nice! I have one of these, inherited from my Father in Law, replaced with a new model a few years ago I'm ashamed to say. Maybe I should be restoring it???
But that's the best part! The lead paint is a sweet little treat while you're working!
21:40 this installation method is called "trust me. I'm an engineer"
I read this at like 17min in wondering what's this going to be. I was not disappointed. 😂🤣
I really enjoy the comedy you put in your videos! I also how innovative you are when you need to replace stuff. The brass door knob and wrench trick was really cool.
2:15 what´s your favorite screwdriver? Hand Tool Rescue: this chisel.
This is my favorite of your rebuilds! Door handle, wrench modification and all...!!!
Thank you!
nice job - on that slippery slope!
Thank you!
It's too cold here to go out and muck around with stuff in the garage. Nice to be able to experience it vicariously!
Variable speed!😂
Great Job!
He has one. You are to siily. I love your refurbishing antics. I want one of those little band saws. Can't wait for the next video.
8:49 awesome!
I was laughing so hard :D
Seriously one of my favorite restores yet - would love to have that one in my shop. Feels like you made it better than new - and gave it some character in the process.
: D Красава . эпическая концовка со струбцинами . надёжность прежде всего .
да хз, я б ещё синей изоленты добавил, для надёжности
I do enjoy seeing the fun toy inject in these videos. The flamethrower is a great example.
you sure clamped down on things
Slow clap.
Loved that bit with the clamps.....another quality restoration. Well done
Perfect clamping technique ,always hold wooden clamps together with a hanging cast iron bench vice , funny
Mahrude That's why they say "you can never have too many clamps". I still think one more should have been added for safe measures.
All of your videos are excellent, but this restoration seems to have topped them all. Congrats and thanks much for sharing. Outstanding.
Hey my brother great restoration I love it good job :)
My father has the same band saw in the old wood shed. I have used many times, I'm scared of the thing. It's in disrepair to say the least, I never thought the thing would be this old. Thanks for the great video!
That was so dangerous. You DEFINITELY needed a few more clamps to hold it down properly.
It'll buff
you are one of the very best YT channels for restoration
My wife must think I'm crazy giggling at RUclips videos...
Nice job. Using the wrench/nut combo for the table handle was clever. And your clamping game is on-point.
Also, you look like a Futurama villain, trying to give them the CLAMP!
Wow! Can't believe how well those wheels cleaned up!! Awesome job once again.

I love restoring old bandsaws, great video and nice job on that little guy.🤗
Yes eat the lead paint, better than eating tide pods.
Better than eating at McDonalds.
I agree about mcdonalds
It’s all relative, isn’t it?
I prefer acrylic paint, myself.
Just a heads up, the height of the upper blade guide is set to the thickness of the wood being sawn, plus about a 1/4" to 3/8" for safe working clearance. “This part isn’t original”
*Puts doorknob and half a wrench onto the machine*
Lol
Fantastic restoration, a machine anyone would like to own I'd think. Thanks for sharing.
What is that fiberglass-looking stuff behind the drill press when you're wire-wheeling the small parts?
+Jim G I shave near the dust collector.
Waking up to a new HTR video is like Christmas morning... Keep up the good work, sir.
"Retro-future 50's" style bandsaw. And clamps newer be enough. :D
Wow! You sure made that thing shine!
Lol all those clamps
Just recently discovered your channel and love it, love watching you take an old tool, clean it, restore it and make is usable again. But you maintain it's authenticity as well which is what I think makes what you do really fantastic.

Good restoration! You should reward yourself with a compressor and an air brush for your paintwork.
EXCELLENT !!!! Morning coffee and your video !!!!
The clamp setup was great!!!!!
Lead paint jokes? DEMONETIZED!
Hi,always good viewing, and a touch of comedy thrown in,and you know what youre doing, keep em coming always get my vote.

Kind of odd phraseology and grammer for someone allegedly from the US.
That’s an invalid use of That’s what she said.
"Greetings from my corrupt Country U.S.A." why did that sound Russian in my head?
Hand job rescue is now one of my favourite channels.... keep it up 😁
when she asks what he uses. "Penetrating oil"
Thanks for the jump scare by looking through the hole there lolz. Great video, but then again all your videos are great.
I had that same exact saw. I used it to make long board skate boards. Boy the good old days. Good to see you doing great stuff like this.
Keep up the great work.
And thank you.
And one more thing I did was make a stand up table with two doors on it and put the mortar in the doors below. Worked out great.
Every bloody video has something new i learn from watching you. Thanks for all the tips and tricks that you have showed me and others.
Thank YOU! Today's lesson was clamping.

I have never wanted anything so bad in my life as that bandsaw! Gorgeous.
Beautiful piece, perfect work. Thanks for the video.
I want to thank you very much for making all your great videos, and I really thank you for a great tip on installing band saw tires
Thank you!
This one is so far my favorite restoration. Very well done!
You have a great investment there. I think I would use the brass to make the center hole for the blade. I would also put at least a 1/2 horse variable speed motor on the band saw. What a great piece of antique shop equipment.
this has to be the best looking piece you've brought in so far
Меня очень порадовали струбцины и тиски , в следующий раз ставьте ещё больше .Отличная реставрация !
владимир гагарин а меня с шуриком и круглой штукой😅
lets just all agree that we are here for 8:42, You always makes some kind of shenanigans. Love it.
Brilliant workmanship and a funny 😄 guy...they work well together! Love your videos!👍🏻❤️😊
A gorgeous restoration! I wish I had a bandsaw like that one. It’s cool as ... a very cool thing.
Excellent restoration work ... I would love to find one of those saws out there to be able to do my woodwork. Congratulations!!!
The latest in a line of entertaining and informative videos. Makes me smile in anticipation when one pops up. Drawing on a comment made earlier -- you might find a variable speed wood lathe useful. I use mine, with an assortment of mandrels, for buffing and wire wheeling. I have 12" and 16" disk sanders made from MDF disks. I have other disks with leather glued around the perimeter that I use for power stropping. A world of uses -- occasionally, I'll even turn a bowl on it :-) Clyde
Good idea!
Simply amazing😲 Will !!!! ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL build my friend!!!!
I had a few good chuckles and thoroughly enjoyed this video
Glad to hear!
My friend just gave me one of these ...Band Saw and Scroll Saw on a stand with 1 shared motor underneath for my birthday...It needs a little work but it runs. It is branded Montgomery Wards but Duro made these too. Circa 1940s-1950s
Left the guard on the wheel of death but no pusher on the band saw, I like your style.
