Huge thanks for making this video. This has just happened to me tonight, exactly as described in your video. Steam Guard active, mobile phone still linked, e-mail still linked with 2FA and not compromised (I can see the history of active sessions and logins and nothing but me). Hey Nooblets, how's it going? I was watching your video titled 'ARK ROADMAP RESPONSE! ITS WORSE!' and I couldn't help but be captivated by the intro. I'm curious about the origin of the video used in the intro. Do you happen to know if it's a preview of an upcoming blockbuster or just a really well-done edit from another source? I know it's a strange question, but I would greatly appreciate any information you can provide. Thanks a bunch!
Unfortunately, there's no chance of class action lawsuit as by using the 2FA app, or signing up for steam itself, you agree to their ToS which states that you may not create or join a class action lawsuit against them. HOWEVER, this is a serious case of consumer anti-trust violation that has been happening for YEARS. Steam knows full well where your items have gone, they just don't care to get them back for you. They want you to buy more items.
This happened to me. I came back to my pc and logged into steam but it didnt work and i was confused. Then realized it was a prompt from a link my kid clicked when i was away and i am still sad over loosing all my rust items i had bought over the years. Now i am diligent at keeping him off my pc and tripple checking before i log in. A 7 year old doesnt understant dont click that link!
if you have evidence that you bought the items steam will give back your items its a miss information that steam doesnt give back the stuff you lost you just have to prove everything with cc email and your detaisl as birthday usw
@@TheHomi231 i put money once a year on my steam wallet at xmas and then use it through the year. This was many years worth of items I had purchased in a few games so no way to prove all that.
Well, unfortunately I got banned on RUST, and same as explained on video, but I didn't click any link related to steam at all. And they bought stuff with my steam wallet, and transferred in market. The think here is nobody clicked a link at all. Another friend of mine got their account stolen differently, he got his authenticator removed without recieving a single email, and got 300$ of CS:GO inventory stolen.
I got scammed even though i had every security option enabled, but on 6.4.2024 somebody got into my steam account and sold practically all of my steam items plus game items about 60 euro together after he sold everthing he bought some dota items for about 30 euro each any suggestion on what to do?
i can sadly inform you that it happened to me a lost around 100 stuff/item on steam because someone probably a bot sold over 100 stuff/items from my inventory on steam without i even or almost not even get a warning in steam guard and steam support is not going to do anything because it is unfair to the people who got my stuff by buying it even when steam support can clearly see that the stuff was sold faster then is possible for a human being like steam do you not have any sort of warning system that put red flag on a user if they sell stuff faster than is possible for a human being so i will never get the stuff back and steam will keep telling me they wont do anything like what if they would have use up all my money(my real money not value in stuff/items) would the tell me the same thing the weird thing is that they sold close to all the stuff and then did buy stuff for dota 2 all by the same seller so i have a feeling that the Bot is own by the seller of the Dota 2 stuff but the most weird thing is why do steam not have a system in place so that someone can not sell stuff faster then is possible for a human like a real bank has it if you buy stuff to much in short amount of time the bank will stop you from doing any more like why does steam not have it it is like they support the people doing this
Just had this happen to me, steam wallet was emptied while I had mobile authentication on.Steam response was essentially hard luck! No refund or nothing
Unfortunately this same exploit seems to have happened to me just before watching this video... they got into my account without any Steam guard or email alert, changed my profile around to say I was in violation of terms of service which linked to an official steam page, blocked all of my friends except a new person who was impersonating a Steam employee, it was pretty wild. I had no idea it would be possible whatsoever with Steam Guard protecting me 🙂
Same happen to me on 8 september. Steam doesn't give a shit, with all proof given by the rightful owner. This is insane. It's just a gaming platform, not a bank account ffs. I think there's someone who either does pentest for fun, someone you pissed while you play better, or simply someone who worked there and wants revenge.
Or they just ban the person that showed it and still pretend it doesn't exist. Someone tried that on ark survival evolved (a wall clip) and from my understanding it never got fixed, now it's just the entire public knows how to use it.
Thank you for your video. It helps in the way that we’ve been all hacked and hearing someone talking about is kinda relaxing… I’ve lost nearly 120$ around with skins and steam funds. I don’t even know what I’m supposed to do or how to react. I’m not happy nor sad. I’m just destroyed. This money was 4 years or playing and investing… I’m not looking for back up, since steam doesn’t care. I’m looking for solutions for future. Should I reboot my pc from 0 ? Like installing new OS and moving over ? Or just Anti malware could make it ? I’m so scared to do more interactions with steam now… if anyone have any help it would be precious❤
Things you can do: start cracking games, buy a guitar or something and build a skill outside of the computer, enjoy life. If you do anything online, make sure to pirate it, as the developers and distributors clearly do not care about you being hacked and losing things you paid money for.
How were they able to login to the account in the first place? Was your friend not using the mobile authenticator or did they manage to bypass it as well?
This happened to me a few days ago that made me so sad because i didn't even realize it and lost all my csgo items. Now im not even sure if he still can get into my account.
my account got hacked just like this! it was from a chinese hacker. i had all the steamguard, phone number and email verified. without anything all my csgo weapons sold off for under a dollar. like what are steam doing? and how did someone went into my account. i never shared my password and to say its impossible to detect cuz i have a 15+ words password with bunch of symbols. how did they got into my account?
Had something like this happen to me and the best thing about it is that steam support to bugger all about it! Why don't they region lock accounts or have at least an email warning? I never go on holiday. More notifications are needed.
On June 9 I lost 10 dollars worth of Steam items I woke up and checked my phone I found out a bunch of my items suddenly got sold for cheap and a cheap item was brought, then i decided to change password, deauthorize everything, add a Family view to everything, Deleted all Google Steam extensions, resetted Steam guard and revoked Api Key Currently on a 15 day market hold ends at Jun 24 I have added 4 dollars to my Steam balance, what do I do to ensure this will never happen again
Thanks for the inside about it, got hacked by a russian just 3 days ago without getting notified by steam guard, the hacker got on to my account when playing Penguin Heist multi, seems that steam neither fixed exploits via multiplayer, just as a heads up.
There are so many ways for this to happen no en days. Hell not even Facebook, twitch or many others are safe from hackers. Note that the most go to is to send a friend request or ask you to click a link.
Like you mentioned.. Its pretty sus that they admit that they know about it but are unwilling to do anytbing about it, could they be getting a kickback?
So that's why he bought every item which costs less than 1$, so he can transfer items without need of any confirmation from steam guard, very smart, a guy did same with me, lost my 25$ and all the other things i had in my inventory..he bought dota 2 items, really sad about this.. my suggestion would be keep your inventory and steam account private
That happened to me as well. Lost alot of money due to it. Bypassed steam-guard and steam did nothing when they were contacted. Jaut the same bullshit answer "we cannot/wont do anything because that would be unfair to the hacker/scammer" They just don't care. Hopefully if enough complain, then they will start doing something.
For me I just had money in the steam-wallet and they emptied it all on a single purchase on a low valued item. And steam-guard did not get prompted by the transaction.
Meh I have had Steam for over a decade and I have never heard of SteamGaurd or items that can be sold for (real?!) money. Then again I never have used Discord or play with people...
Still doesnt explain how he could access the account in the first place. I get the listing under 1 usd thing, but how did he access the account without 2FA access?
Unfortunately, today I was hacked in the same way, but of course when I wrote to support and raised the subject of their application, the topic was immediately closed (the only plus is that the scammer did not manage to buy his items for Dota 2, which I don't play, thanks to the 2-day block money transaction, at least I will buy back some of items)
@@Gianpi612 That's also why it really doesn't matter what version of Windows you run. As long as it remains nearly a monopoly OS there will always be literally an endless supply of exploits for the current version. I regularly run older OS's on the web and I can't even remember the last time I had to remove a virus from one of my computers. Then there's the hundreds of people who bring me their PC's with Windows 10 & 11 that are totally polluted with malware and viruses. The fellas in Redmond probably gave our friends at Steam a nice financial incentive to discontinue support for Windows 7. Pretty standard practice in the world we live.
@@christiancolossus5165 Windows 7 is outdated and it doesn't take a genius to say that still running Windows 7 is more risky than running w10 or w11, of course if you have bad knowledge with computers you are gonna get malwares regardless of your OS but this doesn't change the fact that windows 7 is outdated AND more open to vulnerabilities. Also your example doesn't make sense: since windows 10-11 nowadays comes pre-installed in a lot of computers you will always find more users who struggle with viruses in windows 10 (since its the most popular OS)

Well Ive got 9540 hours and left a while ago so you must have alot lol I mainly played PvP and you definetley learn something from it mainly that it gets worse every year lol
Specifically for csgo investments, you can buy a storage unit and the hacker would have no way of selling it since only the browser session is hijacked and not the account itself. You can't use the skins but i'd rather wait for valve to (hopefully) fix this issue than losing them
Almost the same thing happened to me but in my case I got phished and hijacked not hacked. Steam does not care and the burner account that stole my money is still active. I urge everyone to take your money out of the wallet, get rid of all valuable items and try to use a different game distribution platform.
I got community trade hold for 15days, my csgo items are still in my account. Exactly after all my cheaper items were sold on Steam Market (value less than 5 USD) those valuable items such as my knife, glove are still with me. How can i save my remaining items?
Any distribution platform can get hacked, but those skin items on steam make you defo a target. Better is just stop playing with that turd of game called counterstrike. And bringing steam again for court to do better.
@@XhizorBE indeed, or even better yet, allow users like me to opt out of the marketplace. I don’t care about cards and skins, I don’t play counter strike, I don’t want to sell or buy anything on the scammy marketplace. this happened to me before and it was due to subscribing to a mod. the "hacker" was from china. the next one was from somebody just randomly adding me as a friend. lost a lot of stuff mostly gold rare skins in dota which are pretty effin expensive now. never got my items back but luckily i dont link my card on steam anymore so they didnt really get to my money aside from what's already on my account.
I WAS WONDERING ABOUT THIS!!!! This makes me so mad... I have no idea where I could have been hacked so it made me really paranoid. my steam app suddenly changed to Chinese even after I changed my password and Steam guard.... Steam guard didn't notify me of ANY breaches after being accessed from "Italy" and the "Netherlands" (VPN locations... i know) this is so incredibly frustrating. My old password didn't even show as breached so I have no clue how someone got in and sold all my items.......
They will mainly be like can you vote for my x server just click the link, or me and my friends need one more for a group of game you don't even play click this link?
I cant put money in my account since i cant pay by paypal or cash transfers. So, for the moment i got 0.01 dollar cents cause our money costs 500 pesos = 1 dollar. So, since credits on Steam must to be paid with credit cards, i stopped to put and buy games from steam. I just wait till some cool games are in Epic Games for free, bc i cant add money without a credit card. Argentinian's economy is a shit.
cant you buy steam card from a irl game store etc and add that key in to fill up the amount you want ? no credit card needed that way. hope it helps and have a nice day :)
Your friend should check if his email got hacked. I'm not sure it can be used on steam but that's usually one way of bypassing two factor auth. Using the alternative email code two factor...

@@NOOBLETS if he got his PC hacked, that’s his problem. Steam Guard doesn’t fix that. Your PC’s security is on YOU. A guy i know brought up a good point up about this, if this has been happening for a year or more it'd be all over the news would it not? Why is this the only coverage here?
You mentioned putting items in a storage unit, however, I did that exact thing and they some how managed to pull them all out and do this same method. Im at a loss towards understanding their methods but great video
The only way to get the items out the box is to log into YOUR steam account and take them out. So they must have done that. Log in and try to see what IP they did it from
Happened to me this evening. I was away from my pc for about 30 minutes. And in this time someone sold all my items and then listed 2 items on his account for 170 euro (which is worth 3 cents) and used my account to buy that. No steam guard was used. Even though for every transaction I enabled a additional confirmation needed. I asked steam for help and nothing can be done. Worked hard for that money. And this day still do not how how it happened or how I can protect myself.
Anither add for security for steam would be requiring the user when they put in their email and password to then put in the 4 to 6 digit pin number they set for there account then be required ro out in the Authentication code

Just happened to me and no, I did not click on anything nor download shady stuff. Woke up and found all the items sold when I checked my email which I do every morning. I dont know how it happened but it surely was no fault of mine.
same and I found out my account was awarded to a steam account who named Michael
But i love your efforts to help people across the world!! Every help is appreciated :D
I edited it from a few movies, why do you want to know?
@NOOBLETS it looks interesting. I wanted to know what movie it was so I could watch it.
@@NOOBLETS why is it secret? I want to watch whatever movie it is, I love movies. Nevermind then lol
A 7 year old doesnt understant dont click that link!
if you have evidence that you bought the items steam will give back your items
its a miss information that steam doesnt give back the stuff you lost you just have to prove everything with cc email and your detaisl as birthday usw
Man i had the same issue
what happened after 4 months? how did you solve this problem or is it still lasting? can you give information about it? i had same thing 2 days ago.
Thanks for the heads up on this issue.
i can sadly inform you that it happened to me a lost around 100 stuff/item on steam because someone probably a bot sold over 100 stuff/items from my inventory on steam without i even or almost not even get a warning in steam guard and steam support is not going to do anything because it is unfair to the people who got my stuff by buying it even when steam support can clearly see that the stuff was sold faster then is possible for a human being like steam do you not have any sort of warning system that put red flag on a user if they sell stuff faster than is possible for a human being so i will never get the stuff back and steam will keep telling me they wont do anything
like what if they would have use up all my money(my real money not value in stuff/items) would the tell me the same thing the weird thing is that they sold close to all the stuff and then did buy stuff for dota 2 all by the same seller so i have a feeling that the Bot is own by the seller of the Dota 2 stuff
but the most weird thing is why do steam not have a system in place so that someone can not sell stuff faster then is possible for a human like a real bank has it if you buy stuff to much in short amount of time the bank will stop you from doing any more like why does steam not have it it is like they support the people doing this
Just had this happen to me, steam wallet was emptied while I had mobile authentication on.Steam response was essentially hard luck! No refund or nothing
NOOBLETS I HAD THIS HAPPEN TO ME, THEY HACKED ON MY RUST AND I GOT BANNED! such bull man. 40$ in the drain.
BRO 1 YEAR AGO AND STEAM STILL DIDNT DO ANYTHING WTF IS THIS???????????? I JUST GOT HACKED AND I HAD All these things
I had no idea it would be possible whatsoever with Steam Guard protecting me 🙂
same bro yesterday it happends to me :(
when i open my gmail account i checked it and the sold gmails was in russian language.
Me too ,ru and thailand language in my email and all my stuff got scammed
Did you get it back bc mines is the same
Same happen to me on 8 september. Steam doesn't give a shit, with all proof given by the rightful owner.
This is insane. It's just a gaming platform, not a bank account ffs.
I think there's someone who either does pentest for fun, someone you pissed while you play better, or simply someone who worked there and wants revenge.
Hope they get sued. Best to figure out how to do this and show everyone how to do it and force steam to actually do something about it
Or they just ban the person that showed it and still pretend it doesn't exist. Someone tried that on ark survival evolved (a wall clip) and from my understanding it never got fixed, now it's just the entire public knows how to use it.
@@ForgedinPrint i think it was HOB that did it and they unbanned him but yea still so terrible
Yes he was using a mobile authenticator
Anither couple of things i have heard is making profile private and also something about removing the API key
Appreciate it Nooblets! Thanks for the heads up!
On June 9 I lost 10 dollars worth of Steam items
I woke up and checked my phone I found out a bunch of my items suddenly got sold for cheap and a cheap item was brought, then i decided to change password, deauthorize everything, add a Family view to everything, Deleted all Google Steam extensions, resetted Steam guard and revoked Api Key
Currently on a 15 day market hold ends at Jun 24
I have added 4 dollars to my Steam balance, what do I do to ensure this will never happen again
did this happened again?
@@Fleago No
@@Hunter_Macer im curious about something. Do you use Steam İnventory helper extension when you were scammed?
@@Fleago Apparently yes, ever since then I got rid of all of them and moved on
Hell I didn't even know you could sell steam items.
same lol

Thanks for the inside about it, got hacked by a russian just 3 days ago without getting notified by steam guard, the hacker got on to my account when playing Penguin Heist multi, seems that steam neither fixed exploits via multiplayer, just as a heads up.
Happened to me on the 28th. They sold some items to themselves in steam market and even tried to enter my personal e-mails. 2FA did not do shit
how did they get access to his account in the first place?
There are so many ways for this to happen no en days. Hell not even Facebook, twitch or many others are safe from hackers.
Note that the most go to is to send a friend request or ask you to click a link.
As always we appreciate the videos you do Steve!
I for one will be looking to spend my gaming money elsewhere. I'm tired of Steam having so much control over the games I play.
Like you mentioned.. Its pretty sus that they admit that they know about it but are unwilling to do anytbing about it, could they be getting a kickback?
Happened to me today. They still haven't fixed it still huh.
did u get the account back
So that's why he bought every item which costs less than 1$, so he can transfer items without need of any confirmation from steam guard, very smart, a guy did same with me, lost my 25$ and all the other things i had in my inventory..he bought dota 2 items, really sad about this.. my suggestion would be keep your inventory and steam account private
Classs action lawsuit? They are already being sued for price gouging games.
He surely gave the hacker access to his computer, so 2FA doesn't really matter at that point and you can't really blame steam for that
That happened to me as well. Lost alot of money due to it. Bypassed steam-guard and steam did nothing when they were contacted. Jaut the same bullshit answer "we cannot/wont do anything because that would be unfair to the hacker/scammer"
They just don't care.
Hopefully if enough complain, then they will start doing something.
For me I just had money in the steam-wallet and they emptied it all on a single purchase on a low valued item. And steam-guard did not get prompted by the transaction.
Just happened to me, luckily I caught it halfway through. but now I have a bunch of "chainsaw of the maniacal machinist" that the hacker bought. :(
Meh I have had Steam for over a decade and I have never heard of SteamGaurd or items that can be sold for (real?!) money. Then again I never have used Discord or play with people...
THIS JUST HAPPENED TO ME AND I CANT FIX AS IT WONT SEND ME ANY EMAIL BACK
Still doesnt explain how he could access the account in the first place. I get the listing under 1 usd thing, but how did he access the account without 2FA access?
6 months later and this is still happening!
@@arkan7314 it was steam support itself that got your items stolen
I'm really sorry to hear about your friends account but thank you for the warning
....and Steam is so worried that we all upgrade from Windows 7 because it is insecure. What a load of sh*t.
The one sitting behind the screen is the best antivirus. We can't really blame windows or steam if he clicked shady links himself
That's why I never save my pay details..or have PayPal connected to steam 😅..I knew I'm a smart guy,not just paranoid !
after the sony playstation hack that shut em down for 2 weeks straight i never save any payment details anywhere lol

AND STILL THEY DIDNT FIX IT, SUM FKR IS SELLING MY STUFF
Yea the only one solution its enable child mode on your steam so every even 50c auction will need require premision.
got my account hacked and they sent a link for ''cs 2 access'' to all of my friends. I personally didnt lose anything and could change my login details. Am i safe now? Also i never clicked on a link so i have no idea how this happened. As you said no notifications whatsoever
These Russian hackers had also hacked my account. But I got it back after contacting Steam Suport. Luckily nothing was touched by hackers. Steam should fix these things
Which game is that you playing?
Ark survival evolved, ive played it abit :P
Well Ive got 9540 hours and left a while ago so you must have alot lol I mainly played PvP and you definetley learn something from it mainly that it gets worse every year lol
But dont buy ARK as they are bringing out a new version in 4 months
Specifically for csgo investments, you can buy a storage unit and the hacker would have no way of selling it since only the browser session is hijacked and not the account itself.
You can't use the skins but i'd rather wait for valve to (hopefully) fix this issue than losing them
they did it me rn
Almost the same thing happened to me but in my case I got phished and hijacked not hacked. Steam does not care and the burner account that stole my money is still active. I urge everyone to take your money out of the wallet, get rid of all valuable items and try to use a different game distribution platform.
I got community trade hold for 15days, my csgo items are still in my account. Exactly after all my cheaper items were sold on Steam Market (value less than 5 USD) those valuable items such as my knife, glove are still with me. How can i save my remaining items?
yo dawg any update, the same thing just happened to me@@6831kenny
Any distribution platform can get hacked, but those skin items on steam make you defo a target. Better is just stop playing with that turd of game called counterstrike. And bringing steam again for court to do better.
@@XhizorBE indeed, or even better yet, allow users like me to opt out of the marketplace. I don’t care about cards and skins, I don’t play counter strike, I don’t want to sell or buy anything on the scammy marketplace.
I did care about my wallet money which was stoled using the marketplace, where my hijacked account purchased a worthless item from the hijacker for like 60 dollars.
I think this is the same kind of explot that hackers used to gain access to linustechtips youtube channel. Somehow they gained access to the cookies.
Or to make us win giveaways
this happened to me before and it was due to subscribing to a mod. the "hacker" was from china. the next one was from somebody just randomly adding me as a friend. lost a lot of stuff mostly gold rare skins in dota which are pretty effin expensive now. never got my items back but luckily i dont link my card on steam anymore so they didnt really get to my money aside from what's already on my account.

Yeah I've had people add me friends trying to get me to click links, after my items happened alot over last few years
They will mainly be like can you vote for my x server just click the link, or me and my friends need one more for a group of game you don't even play click this link?
Or do you want some free skins per month for x game, just click here
I have alot csgo box's from years back they always want and my rust skins
Just got hacked and lost all my inventory and steam didn't help lol
sorry man :(

I cant put money in my account since i cant pay by paypal or cash transfers. So, for the moment i got 0.01 dollar cents cause our money costs 500 pesos = 1 dollar. So, since credits on Steam must to be paid with credit cards, i stopped to put and buy games from steam. I just wait till some cool games are in Epic Games for free, bc i cant add money without a credit card. Argentinian's economy is a shit.
cant you buy steam card from a irl game store etc and add that key in to fill up the amount you want ? no credit card needed that way. hope it helps and have a nice day :)
got my steam account hacked yesterday. don't know what to do
Your friend should check if his email got hacked. I'm not sure it can be used on steam but that's usually one way of bypassing two factor auth. Using the alternative email code two factor...
We know the pc go hacked, but he had Mobile 2 step on his phone. If steam gives the option of getting an email INSTEAD of using Mobile 2 step that might be how they did it. Ill look into it thank you.
@@NOOBLETS They usually have some kind of alternative since people change phones etc but I'm not 100% how Steam solves that.
@@NOOBLETS if he got his PC hacked, that’s his problem. Steam Guard doesn’t fix that. Your PC’s security is on YOU. People only care when it happens to them.
You mentioned putting items in a storage unit, however, I did that exact thing and they some how managed to pull them all out and do this same method. Im at a loss towards understanding their methods but great video
The only way to get the items out the box is to log into YOUR steam account and take them out. So they must have done that. Log in and try to see what IP they did it from
Here after the hack, I only had 1.44£, and they were so sad to buy some items with low amount.
And this day still do not how how it happened or how I can protect myself.
how he can log-in into steam account without the code form email or steam guard?
Steam is so valuable to most people, literraly thousands of dollars of games for someone with 10 or 20 games which is most people
Dose this still work I want my account back from steam trying to steal it
Anither add for security for steam would be requiring the user when they put in their email and password to then put in the 4 to 6 digit pin number they set for there account then be required ro out in the Authentication code
