She’s a proper superstar!
I envy her so much. Growing up my mom had albums of the soundtracks of many musicals, and the one that I love most and will ALWAYS love most is "Man of LaMancha". I never dared to pursue theater as a career, but in 1990 a theater group was putting on a revival of that play at the Boar's Head Theater - not exactly Broadway, but a 500 seat house, and I decided to audition - with no experience other than having privately sung the songs and played the role of Don Quixote for about 20 years. After three rounds of auditions, the director said he wanted me for the role! It was dream come true. But at the same time, the producer wanted someone with some experience and name recognition and there was an actor in Grand Rapids who had turned them down once but was known to Michigan theater lovers and somehow he got that guy to change his mind. I would STILL like a chance to play that role before I die, but happy for Alicia to see this dream come true for her.
