    Thanks man..... I'm supposed to go assist a church that has the TF5 and all my life I have been with analog mixers so I was worried even after watching several videos from Yamaha themselves.
    I must say, this is very detailed and educative......big ups to you..... you've earned a follower...✌🏾

    I'd have loved a more detailed output section training like the input section had though!

    Love where he slides the touchscreen and says no one else has done that....except for Line 6 and QSC!

    I like this console. I learned the M-7 working for a sound company. Was running analog desks aside of occasional 02R 01V and those were OK but not nearly as nice as the newer ones. I'm very experienced and still use presets that are built in to get up and running fast. I will change most of those setting thru out the sound check but probably not drastically unless I have a signal that is way hot or way not. lol Or some strange frequencies going on and that is obviously where your ear for EQ comes in.

    How do you do a Virtual Soundcheck with the TF-1? I have Editor hooked up and working and Studio One Professional as a DAW. I can record with separation to Studio One but when I'm playing the recording back I can't adjust the levels with editor on separate channels. I can only do this through studio one which doesn't help because S1 donesn't control the board inputs. Any help with this ? would be awesome.

      I've figured this issue out. Thanks for posting this video BTW. VERY EASY to follow!

    love this desk but it's a shame it doesn't have daw control. if this was like the presonus cs18ai I would buy it tomorrow. Gonna have to stick with presonus cs18ai for now even though I don't want to.

      I liked my little Presonus 16.02 board don't get me wrong but there's no comparing the two mixers. The Yamaha pre amp are at least 3 times hotter than the XMAX pre amps, and not having to deal with fire wire makes it possible to use a cheaper PC Laptop. I use this mixer with Studio One Professional all the time. Using the mouse to control everything I need to in the DAW. I'm not sure why that's an issue for people, but I realize it is. IMHO it's an issue I'd get over quickly because this mixer can record into your DAW with a level of flexibility and quality that a Presonus just isn't capable of. I was able to get really good live sounds out of the Presonus board so again I'm not knocking Presonus, but the Yamaha TF1 I currently have sounds so much better I don't even know how to compare the two. I played my first gig using the Yamaha a few weeks ago and a fellow musician came up to me during break and said I don't know what you guys are using for effects or gear, but I'm guessing it's expensive. :) I love this board. It's built like a tank and is well worth the price. I played with my band through a mid sized Midas board 32 channel I think and the sound guy knew what he was doing, but I'd say this board "To Me" sounds better.

    Does this sound good as the SSL Big Six? I’m trying to choose which to purchase. I know one is analogue and the other is digital.

    What is the name of the app that is used with this board to mix?

    • @xl100v
      @xl100v 9 лет назад

      Laser Panther TF Editor you can find it on Yamaha's site

    • @yikesboy13
      @yikesboy13 9 лет назад

      Laser Panther the iPad app is free and can be used to mix pretty much everything remotely (after adding a wifi router that's not included).

    • @yamahacommaudio
      @yamahacommaudio 9 лет назад

      +Laser Panther You can mix from a PC/Mac with the TF Editor wired or wirelessly(if the PC is connected via WiFi), you can mix wirelessly from an iPad via the TF Stagemix app, and you can mix the monitor outs wirelessly with our iPhone app called MonitorMix. All of the software made specifically for the TF is a FREE download.

      the reason i was asking is because i have the 01v96i in my studio, but i hate that it doesn't have a scribble strip

      I use a Phonic Summit on my synths but am considering a Behringer x32 compact for my mixing.

      noticed that they arent really making a lot of control surface/interface combos like they were at one point

    • @yamahacommaudio
      @yamahacommaudio 9 лет назад +1

      +MrBettabeats The TF Series concept was focused primarily on live use. At the current time, it does not have DAW emulation like the 01V96i. If you don't need the DAW emulation, then the sound quality of the console and ease of connectivity definitely makes it a possible candidate for studio use.
