I think the exhaust fan is a must... if you want proof of that take a flashlight before you spray and turn off the lights. Walk around the garage or area outside of the booth. Spray your job. Do the same thing now with the flashlight... there will be a mist filling the entire room and it will travel everywhere and anywhere it is allowed to. This isn't going to really damage anything ( hope you seal up any intake vents for home HVAC system! ) but it will fall onto every horizontal surface and leave you with a possibly irritated homeowner... and a lot of unnecessary cleanup. Use the exhaust fan, every time! Great booth idea and really easy to create something like this in a garage that might be available.
Just a tip to save filters. Landscaping fabric works wonders in front of your main filter easy to replace and cheap, keeps the air flow at a constant level without pulling the filter.
Would need an explosion proof fan to be safe with alot of paints particularly solvent based products because the particulate could be exposed to the motor which if it is not explosion proof could ignite the paint
Interesting... I wonder how many people realize that and how real is the danger with the waterbased products? Almost every single refinisher or painter you can find making YT videos is using standard axial fans for their exhaust needs. @@PittsburghSprayEquipmentCo
Can this same setup with the ventilation be used if I want to sand in the booth? We do wood working and although we have dust collection system, we are concerned that dust could still be in the air. Furthermore, is there a way to shut off the one wall that has no plastic covering it? I believe having a doorway wood further limit fresh air so how does this system accommodate that condition of completely closing off the booth? How well does this filtration system keep the spray mist from exiting at all?
Awesome set up! There has been an incredible demand for cabinet painting in the last few years and the Paintline products have been great. Hoping to get my hands on one of these soon. Chris you mentioned that you have moved to water base (non-lacquer) finishes. I Can you elaborate on specific cabinet primers that you use? I have always used a lacquer based primer and followed with SHerwin Emerald Urethane. Curious about non solvent based alternatives for primers. Thanks!
How do you keep your paint booth from caving in? The air being extracted at that rate i feel as if there should be also some sort of inlet of air to replace the air being extracted 🤔🤔🤔
Are you not concerned about unfiltered air being drawn in under the sides of the tent? Id put the exhaust hose back into the tent so that the air volume is unrestricted and only cleaned air is entering the booth. Thanks for the content.
One side is full opened it can be hard to see in the video. Chris does explain that and the resin he uses a drop on the open side especially when no fan to create suction.
Just ordered this with the blower. Can't wait to get it! we have a handful of cabinet jobs coming up this year.

True... but I think PL and many others are making the move to all water-based products for safety and environmental reasons.
@@CustomDartCabinets yes however by fire code even water based products are flammable and are treated the same due to the pigments and binders in them

Do you have a suggestion for a explosion proof fan ? I am in the market for one and can’t figure it out which one to get .
Thank you
@@belabeta hi we have a few options do you have a room size in mind and what voltage phase power would you have available
Excellent design! Thanks for sharing with us all.
Does this paint booth need to be in an enclosed area? Or can you open your garage door and use it at the same time?
If you’re sucking a bunch of air out of the tent, Do you have another hole to let air in?
This booth is open on one side.
Put a small intake fan would make it more effective, but great setup 👍👍👍
its 5 sided
@@Idahopainter it will still help trust me, way nicer to work in

so fun to watch in .5 playback, he sounds super loaded, and now i can actually understand him too trippy
This looks like a negative pressure system. So how much debrie do you get in the coats.

What are you doing for clean air in or do you just want exhaust?
The surrounding air
So could you show how you walk into booth or how you carry a wet door or cabinet out of booth.
would I be able to use this booth for Acrylic spray paint?
Can you do a video on what type of paint to use for different types of exterior siding?
Is it designed for solvent based primer and paint fumes, excellent design with the filter and magnets
That’s work for powder coating?

the door is open.....
I didn’t see where you said this is an explosion proof blower or not. If not, in which circumstances can you use a non-explosion proof blower?
Its not
I need that PSDR spray system!! When are you going to get them back in stock?! Nice fan setup.
I have it, wish it came with more hangers but they have been sold out of hangers for a year now
Two weeks. We have a waiting list over 70
Do you use this system when you spray interior aswell. Ceilings and walls?
No
I have an 18 inch exhaust blower already with ducting, would I be able to use it on this set up?
Yes, absolutely
Too bad this product isn't available north of the border. I'm in the process of figure out how to get it myself.
Sorry
Where do I get this system?
Is the motor fan explosion Proof ?
I would also like to know if it is explosion proof?

I like that set up👍👍👍 but would recommend to have clean air being pushed in, makes it way nicer to work in,
Just helps extraction fan be way more effective
Thanks for the tip
How much is that sisten
Looks like something is up with your website its not working
Seems to be up on my side
@@Idahopainter working now thanks for the reply
You could really buy an 8x8 or 10 by whatever popup tent to spray in. Cut your own hole and put a 10" explosion proof fan. Done
Thanks for sharing
👏🏽👏🏽
Spray is atomizing too quickly. Creating a lot of dust
Be careful with combustible paint
It actually says right on the linked product page: "To be used with Non-Flammable / Non-Combustible Paints & Solvents Only. "
Nice but pricey!
