Being a Singaporean (Hello my Malaysian neighbour), our government, the PAP (People's Action Party) funded many kindergarden for the population across many constituency and I was in one of those childcare. So when election came in 2001, it was televised on TV live about the results and debates and as I was still young, I did not know jack shit about politics but all I could see and hear that every time PAP's logo came out and was declared the winner of whatever ward they contested, I shriek in joy and just celebrated cuz you know, as a retarded 6yo kid, win means win and to me, that logo meant that MY school won as we used the same logo as the party (Cuz.. You know, we're sponsored by the PAP?). I did not know that my mum and my whole extended family was avid opposition supporter and every time I celebrated my little victory, all the more they got fed up and anger building up. Soon after just celebrating for like 5x, I got spanked on fucking hard and I never knew why at that time but I still remember my auntie scolding me with lines like "WHY THEY WIN YOU SO HAPPY?!" and such while my mum was beating me. I was wailing sooo hard and yet 0 compassion was made and the beating continued for like 3-4mins till I nearly choked on my own saliva when I cried then they stopped and realized they went overboard with a kid who knew nothing as I kept screaming "I THOUGHT MY SCHOOL WON SO I HAPPY! DON'T BEAT ME LIAO!" while choking. Really... Never force your kids into politics. When they are in their teenage years, they'll start to understand which party fits them better. Let kids be kids and let them live their lives.
I have the same experience but my teacher didn’t question much. Ask me why rockets with the ring. I say I like rocket flying to the ring and I saw it poster outside. Haha..
