Thanks for the questions! I should create a video about it because it'd take a long time to write down everything that I had to go through to obtain a visa in Canada. But to answer your question while making that video, it was challenging to get a visa, to say the least. I have an open work visa valid for 2 years, and me or my partner needed to get a job offer first. We needed that to be able to move to Canada from New Zealand. We both are over 35, so we couldn't have a work holiday visa like most Kiwis usually apply for. I'd say, getting a job offer is the key. Without a job offer (and being over the age of 35), getting a work visa would be extremely difficult (if not impossible). Pay is the same (tax is different here, though), and expenses are the same as well. Stay tuned for a video. Thank you for watching!
@@nikitisza thank you for your answer!! I can’t wait for that video! I had no idea you moved out of NZ, so all the best for you there and I will anxiously wait for your next video then :)
Hi 😊 It's a more complex question, and the answer would depend on where you live in NZ and Canada. Vancouver, Toronto, Ottawa, and Montreal can have higher salaries in Canada than in other cities like Manitoba. However, living costs are also higher in those larger metropolitan areas. Really the same goes for New Zealand as well. In NZ, the tech salaries in Wellington and Auckland are much higher than in Nelson. The most significant difference I've seen so far is regarding contract work. You can earn nearly double salary as an IT contractor in NZ. In Canada, that's not the case - at least, I have yet to have a chance to see it otherwise. I plan to create a video on this sometime in the new year. Stay tuned! Thank you for watching and commenting!
What are your goals for 2023? 🎯
thanks a lot
You're welcome 😊
Hi Niki! How did you move to Canada? Any special visa?
Also payments there are better than New Zealand?
