We think the Malibu is one of the most underrated cars in this segment. Comfortable, reliable, inexpensive to run and a delight to drive, we invite everyone considering a Camry, Accord or Sonata to stop in for a test drive!
I really want one of these with the 2.0 turbo. I heard rumors that GM will stop making sedans, i hope its not true. Just because theres a bunch of rich suburbanites that want trucks and SUVs doesn't mean you should forget about the average working man.
Drove it for last 3 weeks on a trip on west coast. Really amazing car, I think they should sell them in Europe. The drivers flat mirror and its dead angle made me angry though (And yes I do look out of both windows before starting overtake maneuver).
malibus are much more comfortable to drive than camrys and accords. and handling is way better in a malibu, if you drive over a pothole you will barely feel it in a malibu and no wind or road noise
Just rented one and I love it. I always had a negative opinion towards Chevy but once I drove it I loved it. It has great control and it accelerates quickly and is good on gas
Say that after it leaves you stranded. Japanese is superior in every way compared to your american crap. Don't believe it, look at how many Toyotas and Hondas from the 1990's are still on the road today. How many 90's american 4 bangers are on the road today? Hmmm Lol
Well, I'm not sure where you are getting this info from. I owned an accord and within 4 months the engine overheated and had a major recall on this type of vehicle. I have owned 3 Malibu's and one impala never once did I have one issue with these vehicles. the Malibu I have now has 124K and never once has it been in the shop. you can have them "Rice Burners" but I'm sticking with the almighty American cars...:)
Had one of these as a rental for a buddy trip 4 guys 6’1”-6’4” and 200lbs - 280lbs plus luggage... WOW!!! Rides like a Cadillac and the 1.5 liter literally sipped gas. After 3 days of driving all over Houston we still had 1/4 tank... the refill for return ran us $18 at $1.87/gal in Houston 1/2019... only cons were the auto stop/start is kind of weird (but great far as mileage) and the 1.5 liter is pretty slow. Great car tho
The Chevy Malibu it won't disappoint and it might even surprise you with the amount of torque in the engine excellent interior and even on the ls package you're good to go the Chevy Malibu like I said it won't disappoint you it may even surprise you check it out at your neighborhood Chevrolet dealer !
Yes, the 2.0 turbo is pretty quick, and at 14,700 trouble free miles the car has been awesome. My friend who owns a Mazda 6 was shock when I show him the specs and he didn't believe me till he saw the black and white print. Top speed is drag limited at 153mph.
Having recently visited the States from the UK, this is the one car I'd say they really should be selling in Europe under a Vauxhall or Opel brand. It would fit in nicely on European roads. It has a nice Audi A7 look to it with the 4-door coupe lines, they did a nice job with the design.
My husband 2018 chevy malibu (red) much better back up camera help me pass my parking test with easy. It basically parked its self, l like how it idle down at a stop. The start back up when u hit the gas. #Dope
I LOVE my '16 Regal with the 2.0L LTG like your Malibu. The engine always has power quickly available and is so much fun to drive. I test drive the new Impala with the higher horse V6 and it felt horrible compared to the 2.0l Turbo.
I still have it and I really love it. Especially driving thru snow. There's no slipping or sliding. I just wish the damn cops would quit giving me speeding tickets and parking tickets. I wish they'd go get real criminals and go help people in need.@@Kc37.
So what's the difference from the 2017 model? Just a few paint colors? I noticed the front upper grill is alittle different too. Does the 2018 have actual power adjustable mirrors? Ones that actually fold in with a touch of the button or when you lock the car?
Actually any review of a product that doesn't talk about the differences between the incoming and outgoing product is a failed review How do they justify otherwise charging customers more for this one over last yrs model??
Owned a 2012 Chevy Malibu. It turned me off from GM cars all together. I never liked Ford or Dodge and I've owned GM cars all the way back to the early 90's. You have to take the ENTIRE front end of the 2012 Malibu off just to replace the headlamp bulbs. You have to practically take out the entire back seat area of the car to get to the LED 3rd break light as well. 200 dollars minus the cost of the headlamp bulbs at a dealership. Electrical problems are common from what I've seen in them, also. Mine did all kinds of weird stuff like say to service the airbags when you moved the drivers seat up or back. Most likely cheap wiring.
AdaptVideo01 Chevy has always had wiring issues. Nothing has changed in years. My 91 S10 had issues and my wifes cousin owns a rental car business and has a lot of Malibus from different years and they all have had issues.
Also GM forgets to tell you is that there is an issue with the battery sensor module in these cars and engineering is looking into the problem trying to figure out how to fix it
It does not. Honestly the new Camry is nice but it's still a Camry and has short comings but really all the cars in the segment are pretty solid and really it boils down to brand preference and nitpick items.
Sound quality is completely subjective. Tight bass, clear highs, and low damping (again, tight bass) are characteristic of a good speaker. But, indeed loud booming bass is actually really horrible quality. Turn it down low and listen to how much bass you can hear that is actually a single pitch, vs just boom.
If you do alot of city driving it will never tell you 480 or 510 miles till empty, with most city driving it will only calculate at most 380 miles till empty. You have to be on the highway for a while for the computer to calculate your highway miles and not your city miles.
because its an underwhelming generic grocery getter......oh but its got some features....some doodads like Apple Car play...that will sell with with the airhead normies.
I test drove this and the Kia Optima. The Kia was so much better. Plus so many features for your money. I bought the Optima. The Malibu is nice looking though.
@@JGunz9191 Koreans are where Honda was 20 years ago. Honda is where America was 50 years ago (on the verge of too lazy, overpriced). America is rebuilding and will be where Korea is in 10-20 years.
you know the difference between youtube videos on new production cars and old informational videos on cars from the 1950's???....back in the 1950's they had women do these types of consumer videos on cars....the women also had more testosterone than some of these "men" on youtube.
okay can we stop doing exhaust shots on cars that have a small 4 banger engine....they all sound the same and they all sound pathetic. Its like McLovin coming back from a death camp and he wants to show us his bicep...just NO

Most comprehensive review I’ve ever watched. Not one hesitation throughout. What a pro!
Thanks, appreciate it!
I absolutely love that car. I was just driving it just last Sunday.

goyod6 I’ll stick to my brand new accord
Accords are nicer of the two imo
really?? i am looking for a new car and this is my pick for now.. gonna test drive soon. yeah i am late on this lol
Love my Malibu... handles much better then the accord and camry

It is a good looking car. Does the engine recommend premium gas?
I just use the regular gas. premium is not recommended for this car.

Just got the LT couple a days ago great car. Absolutely recommend
Same just picked up my 2018 LT today and I love it so much ❤️
How’s it now?
If you’re a person like me who only cares about the inside. Save some time and go to 1:45
Been loving my 2016 Malibu
Hi bro, that car is good ? it has no problem ?
Always a great review.
Thanks!
I have the LT version. I love it. Only complaints are no heated seats and gas cap to keep gas cyphers out due to high gas prices in 3/2022.
How’s it holding up now?

Fell in love with the Impala thanks to the Supernatural show. I always cried whenever it blew up 😭. I’ve been wanting a Chevy for a long while.
I’m definitely getting one thx for the information....
That car looks beautiful in red

The gas tanks. Around 13 gallons in the 2017 and around 15 gallons in the 2018.
is that the one thing that will make the difference to between buying and not buying?
That was a hot review!!.
Great work!!
Thanks, appreciate it!
Nice review man!!!👍🙌
Thanks!
Thanks for this review.
The car looks so comfortable
Wabba Fetch I leased a 2016 one- I'm 6' 3" and I'm SO comfortable in it. I'm for sure renewing next year.
I watched until it got to the exhaust... This car makes my Honda sound ferocious lol.
I really love this car
A lot of the features mentioned for the premier can be added for other trims
Nice review! One thing I would add is rather the cars have a spare tire or the fix a flat system.
Got this car yesterday 🥰
Why do 2018 used sonatas cost more than a used 18 Lt Malibu?

Nice video....except for the crappy Camry ad at the begining
Lol
The reverse camera is mandated by federal law for newer car so it's not really a feature but more if a requirement
True but ppl still get excited because just a few years ago it wasn't so they still don't expect it and are unaware of the law.

Hey drew can you try and review the new Acura TLX thanks
This car turbo?
Didn’t address the auto-stop feature.....although it’s a good beautiful car.
The L does not come with a turbo only the LS and above trims do
I wish Chevy would cancel the Premier trim level and go back to the LTZ!
