I traded in Titleist T200s this year for Wilson Dynapower Forged and am so glad I did. Way better feel and dispersion now. Phenomenal golf clubs. The upcharge for the steel series graphite shafts was also incredibly discounted.
Wilson had the speed pocket in a set of Wilson Reflex irons back in 1980. Wilson was an golf innovator back in the day. The reason for their down fall in the late 80’s was their unwillingness to move away from classic player style irons and laminated and persimmon heads. By the time they did start making game improvement clubs the market was saturated with new companies. Ram, MacGregor and few other companies did the same thing. There big mistake and name tarnishing came when they started making box sets to stay open in the golf market. The stuff pre mid 80’s was great, the middle 80’s up to late 90’s was not so great and now from about 2010 to present is excellent. Just an opinion from a former 57 year old Wilson player. Thinking of going back to Wilson.
i just did a fitting for the Dynapower 3 metal. Straight, able to work up/down & draw/fade, consistently longer than my Callaway. Good price as well. Yep, let’s see Dynapower Forged!
So good to see a resurgence of Wilson. Back in the day, they had a great range, starting with Sam Snead Blue Ridge and Haig Ultra and Staff. Golfers started playing with the Sneads and moved on to either the Ultras or Staffs, as they improved. There were ladies clubs as well, but my memory fails me, on the models!
I got fitted yesterday for a set of New golf irons. As it turns out, I got the Dynapower irons from Wilson. Today I turn on your channel and you are reviewing them. Great review! Your channel is the best!
I played the Wilson D9 irons and loved them, I’ve now got the Cleveland Zipcore XL irons and I think people are sleeping on those irons. The Wilson Triad golf ball is fantastic.
@@commonman317 It’s difficult to compare them because I have been fit for the new Zipcore irons and have been moved to 2 degrees flat so I’m seeing fantastic distance, forgiveness which is what I was looking for. The ball flight is great and plenty of stopping power on the greens. For me I highly recommend them but I would get fit for them because the shaft I have been fit for is excellent and I noticed a massive difference from what I used to play.
I've had these irons for nearly 12 months now. Although I still have ups and downs in my game but that's my not practising enough, I absolutely love these irons.long and powerful when struck sweetly. They are definite keepers!!
Fabulous clubs from the most underrated brand in golf. The prices are superb in a market where club prices have become scandalous. Wilson balls are pretty good too worth trying I love Triad my choice now as a mid handicapper.
I got these 'second hand', they were the lefty borrow set at my club. Been used 3 or 4 times and I bought them last week for £375, great bargain from the pro shop trading in my rocketbladez for £125 so paid £250.
I remember "back in the day" Wilson Staff's were 'the club". I played a set of Di9's from 2010 and they were good clubs with the power pockets they are using today. Very forgiving and long. These are just as good. I would game them if I needed a set. Retired 12/31/22 and presented myself with a set of Callaway Apex DCB's.
I play the Wilson staff CB 2021 irons. Love them! The unfinished staff balls are nice but they get messed up quickly! Strong lofted is an understatement lol! My cb 7 iron is 34°, 5 is 26°.
I currently play the Wilson D9 clubs, and absolutely love them! I’m currently gaming the Triad too. Wilson products, for an affordable price, that play great, perfection!
Has to be said....I firmly believe you currently have the best YT golf channel. Couple years ago, I was turning off your videos 😂 you've blossomed 😂 But top notch quality content with great banter 👍 so glad you got rid of that opening line "let's do it & let's do it now" 😂 so bad
I love Wilson clubs . Currently playing D9 cavity back irons , Dynapower Carbon driver which I find very forgiving as a high HC player and a 60 degree harmonized wedge which was £28 on amazon , crazy value.
I like the idea of 5 - GW. I have the Caley 01Ts in 4 - PW. The 4 iron is too hard for me and you have to get a 48/50 Deg wedge as the PW is 43 Deg. Worth thinking about with the lofts on these clubs.
It is interesting again you see those grey Lamkin crossline grips. They are on Tour Edge products and I think also on Takomo. So all more budget brands. But they really are good feeling grips, I have them on my irons and hybrids. I would much prefer them over something like a tour velvet
Speed slot isn’t a taylormade infringement Wilson has irons in the late 70’s with those in them. Wilson Reflex 1979.i would definitely put them in the bag
Had D7s and Dynapowers.. The dynapowers WERE less offset but the strong lofts were an issue for me. Takomo 101ts i found easier to hit out of the middle. I always played with blades so i always struggled with offset clubs but the Dynapowers were the best i used.. (thought they were BETTER than the Ping G430s i had too)
I play the D9 forged and think there great, I look forward to seeing your review and opinion on the Dynpwr forged. I love Wilson for their value for money and quality 👏👏👏😁
try the Dynapower forge irons, you will love them.. from someone that plays nothing but Wilson staff.. driver: Dynapower carbon, Dynapower 3wd, D9 3hybrid, new CB irons, new staff model wedges, and the staff model @ staff model x ball, and the staff model bl 22 putter
Had a set of original Dynapower irons in the 70’s very small blades with the bore through hosel which the they have brought back with the Staff models 66 now and about to order a set of these irons although I want to try the forged version first
My set of these came in the other day, cant wait to pick them up and play a round. Struggled with consistency with my old sim 2's but these were way easier to strike and launched really well
As I high handicapper I bought these irons and the Dynapower Titanium driver and my game has improved greatly thanks to these clubs. Highly underrated clubs at a great price compared to the competition
Great video as always. I'm getting close to my next set of replacement irons and I'm seriously considering trying wilson. I'm currently using the triad balls and they're every bit as good as the premium balls out there. Keep to the good work guys
Most places actually selling these for £579 5-GW or 5-SW now on sale. Great value, and I'd go for them myself if i hadnt bought a set of Mavriks in November 😢
It would be nice to see a comparison against the forge in performance. I’m looking at changing the G430 as to much offset for my eye and looking at the Wilson or t200
Hi James I come across you on the waterfront course occasionally I have Wilson D7 an awesome club I got rid of my titleist and never looked back And the D7 are £290 for the same clubs as you’ve posted here
Would love a vs video on these against more common (more expensive ) brand game improvement clubs ….ie: taylormade Qi irons etc… mainly because , ive been playing taylormade rac os for awhile (unfitted ) for awhile now and considering biting the bullet for a fitted set of game improvement clubs to finish my life with ….and , im poor lol , so if i can get similar results for a $300 less i can maybe e afford new driver /woods/ hybrid etc…👍🏼
Been looking forward to the dynapower forged video. I'd also love to see a video of a Takomo 101t and 201 comparison as I think they're all for very similar players; perhaps it would fit in a budget players distance iron comparison video?
I love these for beginners to low intermediate. For a pure beginner you can’t beat the Callaway set driver through PW at Costco for $550 in different flexes
These look great - and have the benefit of being personalised to me!!😂. Seriously though, as someone thinking of getting back into the game after 2 rounds in the last 24 years, now closer to 60 than 50 and with no ego about equipment - just want to enjoy a round - would you go for these or the Eleven Golf hybrids which look to my untrained eye to be aimed right at someone like me. All thoughts welcome.
James, could you review the new Benross Irons please. I'm on a budget, but being 6'4" getting fiitted would probably be a very good idea. £499 for a fitted set of clubs seems like a bargain....but it's only a bargin if the clubs are any good....that's where you could come in :)
Years ago I was gifted my first set of golf clubs from my brother while on holiday in the states. It was a Wilson prostaff set and it's been great, however when I returned to the UK I realised that it contained 2 8 irons and no 7 iron. I contacted Wilson and they refused to correct the issue, saying my only option was to return the entire set to their address in the states, rather than their UK address. This which would have cost more than buying a new set. It would have been so simple for Wilson to just ship me the missing club and correct their mistakes, but they couldn't care less, which makes me not want to buy from them again.
I have a set of Wilson D7s and I really like them, however that speed slot is annoying as the rubber covers have gone on the pitching wedge and 1 or 2 have gone on other clubs. To get the dirt out is really hard and annoying. That's why I won't buy Wilson again until this issue is sorted tbh. Otherwise love Wilson.
Got the Takomo 101’s 2 weeks ago and they are best irons I have ever owned -have owned Mizuno’s ,Taylormade,Cobra , Titleist , Wilson ,and the only irons that compare to them are the King Cobra Forged Tech which I Still Game as my 2nd set now. The 101’s beat Taylormade p790’s price point one third and same or better performance. But those Wilson’s are Sharp looking and those Staff are just Beautiful as are the Takomo’s .
I had the Wilson blades for 3 years .. loved them but had to be so accurate to get a pure strike .. have changed to the Wilson dynapower irons now and can’t believe how much easier and forgiving they are .. I feel like golf’s become more fun , easier and I am cheating in some way .
I prefer cast vs forged iron and wedges. I can’t afford new clubs every few years and want durability over softer sounding irons. If it’s good enough for Vokey wedges, it’s good enough for all my irons!
Many manufactures decided to tap into game improvement designs. Let us all face it, there are more golfers who need help from the equipment than those professionals who play classic player's clubs. I have watched this in my lifetime happen. It really started with Ping and their original set of irons. Glad to see these Wilson clubs doing well. Of course, Calloway has always been about helping the average golfer, but now everyone is joining the bandwagon. That is good for golf.
Wilson clubs are scandalously underrated! The new sets from these irons all the way through to the blades look fantastic too.
I game these irons. Ive gone from 22 handicap to 16 since January and I'm 60. Highly recommend
I traded in Titleist T200s this year for Wilson Dynapower Forged and am so glad I did. Way better feel and dispersion now. Phenomenal golf clubs. The upcharge for the steel series graphite shafts was also incredibly discounted.
The Dynapower Forged look great. I just picked up some JPX 923 Forged. If they don't work out the Dynapower Forged will be what I go to next.
My wife plays these and I have the D9s. Wilson irons are fantastic!
I have the Wilson D9 irons and they are the best irons I have ever gamed. I am truly a Wilson fan now.
Wilson had the speed pocket in a set of Wilson Reflex irons back in 1980. Wilson was an golf innovator back in the day. I absolutely love hitting Wilson clubs and the Duo ball.
Thanks James and Chris. I am still enjoying my Wilson D9 irons. As a continuing beginner, I seem to hit these clubs fairly decently.
i just did a fitting for the Dynapower 3 metal. Straight, able to work up/down & draw/fade, consistently longer than my Callaway. Good price as well.
Yep, let’s see Dynapower Forged!
650 dollar drivers 2500 set of irons and 100 dollar green fees are not going to bring people to the game!
Gorgeous looking irons, what a great value.
I would definitely have them in the bag. My previous irons were Wilsons and they were great.
God bless him James, my dad would get rid of his old callaways but that's a set he would a suited too.
Wilson clubs are so good. Just on top tier as the other "big four", but reasonably cheaper. Still playing the D7 forged, just great clubs!
I got fitted yesterday for a set of New golf irons. As it turns out, I got the Dynapower irons from Wilson. Today I turn on your channel and you are reviewing them. Great review! Your channel is the best!
I was fitted for these 6 months ago and really like them. I'm using a Callaway super soft ball
I’ve Just got the dynapower forged .. & I love em . Best value for money I could find . They feel awesome to use too
I played the Wilson D9 irons and loved them, I’ve now got the Cleveland Zipcore XL irons and I think people are sleeping on those irons. The Wilson Triad golf ball is fantastic.

Dynapower forged sit between these and Chris’s clubs and they are beautiful
Patience is a virtue!
The forged are monsters and feel great

I'm still using the Wilson tpa putter for years never changed 😊well done James and Chris
I currently use the Rogue st max os. But I love the look of the Wilson clubs
I've had these custom fit for a few months now and absolutely love they HC came down quite a bit 😁
I had the D7 & D9. Both were great
I play the Dynapower forged and absolutely love them. Great looking and feel.

As I high handicapper I bought these irons and the Dynapower Titanium driver and my game has improved greatly thanks to these clubs. Highly underrated clubs at a great price compared to the competition
I just bought a second hand set for £300, and they are mint. Love them already as a hi-handicapper.

Cool review to watch, not everyone does the Wilson reviews. Looking forward to seeing your DP Forged review as I play the D9 Forged.
James my local Costco has the Kirkland signature irons in stock on the shelf stiff flex only😮
These are on my list. I really like how shiney they are. Have you tried the Dynapower Forged?
Been looking forward to the dynapower forged video. I'd also love to see a video of a Takomo 101t and 201 comparison as I think they're all for very similar players; perhaps it would fit in a budget players distance iron comparison video?
I just ordered myself some Wilson Dynapower Forged clubs can't wait till they arrive. How about reviewing the Wilson ZM wedges.
I love these for beginners to low intermediate. For a pure beginner you can’t beat the Callaway set driver through PW at Costco for $550 in different flexes

Perfect for me James 15handicapper 64years old and need some extra help ,Wilson too can't go wrong
James I got a set second hand incredible value!
Yasss!! Can’t wait to see your DP Forged review as well James

I game the W/S D9 forged, I would have got the Dynapower forged, but he D9's were 40% off.
I’m looking for set 100 anniversary button back set. They made some beautiful irons
In the bag. But in a couple of years when I can get them as a bargain.
trying to decide between these and the Dynapower Forged
I use these as a beginner, like them alot
I have a set of D7 forged Wilson's that are great
I would play them because I need the tech. But I would do the zipcore XL
I'm looking forward to the forged set.
They exist.
These clubs are crazy value right now 350 most places
I have a set of Wilson D7s and I really like them, however that speed slot is annoying as the rubber covers have gone on the pitching wedge and 1 or 2 have gone on other clubs. Hi James. Do you think these are better value than the Takomo 101’s? Keep up the good work. Up the reds

The Triad Ball is Really Good !
Would like to see you review some Tommy Armour 845 clubs from Dick’s Sporting Goods/Golf Galaxy. Seem cut from the same mold for half the price.
James I have been looking at these for my bag
after this review I might just be persuaded
You can get a 4 iron it's 18°
I had the Wilson blades for 3 years .. loved them but had to be so accurate to get a pure strike .. have changed to the Wilson dynapower irons now and can’t believe how much easier and forgiving they are .. I feel like golf’s become more fun , easier and I am cheating in some way .
Have you seen the new ram irons
I game Wilson D9 Forged there the best irons I’ve ever used incredible
Wilson used to make great tennis rackets to
I STILL PLAY D300,BUT LOOKING FOR SOMETHING NEWER THESE Are VERY INTERESTING
Are you going to do the new forged ones?
I prefer cast vs forged iron and wedges. I can’t afford new clubs every few years and want durability over softer sounding irons. If it’s good enough for Vokey wedges, it’s good enough for all my irons!

Wilson always makes good clubs, i just wish i owned a set can't afford them though
What’s the benefit to an offset? I find it so hard to look at..
The only problem with Wilson clubs is availability, it's very hard to find stockists and get fitted for them, shame as they are really good clubs.
I like everything Wilson makes
They kind of look like the TM stealth 2 HD.
I think you bent your shaft James!!
On that 5 iron
RIP Bobby.
😂😂😂
Love wilson! Anyone know what happened to foxy? Haven’t seen him on the channel in a long time!
Anyone can play them. I’m a low teen handicap and love them.
