I love your mom. She is so talented. She taught you to sew. I have a daughter too. She is 51 and I am 76. I live in north Las Vegas and my daughter Halle Lynne lives in Tampa Florida. She and I took a cross stitch class together. She was in High school. I am a custom tailor And have Spent 45 years designing and making Men's custom suits and shirts. My husband passed away 8 years ago. So now I live with my son in north Las Vegas. I want to start Cross stitching.again. I am still sewing for people. But I want to cross stitch. You two are so wonderful together. I wish you well. And I will be a fan of yours.

So nice to see you with your precious mom and you taught her to cross stitch that’s so nice, makes me miss my mom so much, she’s been gone now for six years and I’m always grieving her she was precious to. Your stitching is so beautiful, and your moms are so well done you would think she stitched all her life, gorgeous work. I’m like you I start a craft and want to do another when I’m not done the first. I haven’t been able to do many crafts or stitching since mom passed just not motivated and it reminds me of my mom, she taught me how to knit, and she did other things to, I have so many crafty things to do I know I will one day. Some of my best memories are stitching with my grandmothers and mother. My mother has macular degeneration so she can no longer stitch or knit. Enjoy every minute while you can. Just like you, I love spending time with my mother.

Lol, I have 72 WIPS! I’m okay with it; I work on what I want and start what I want!!! I’ve become more forgiving with my mistakes as I’ve aged. I used to rip out everything; now, if I can make it work it’s all good! I love that your mom has picked up our addictive craft. Hurray for her! I am doing the 25th Christmas stitch as well!

Your Mom could try some of the 12 wt cotton sulky threads...decent coverage with 1 thread on 32 and 16 ct. I do stitch on linen...my favorite material though is 28 ct. wheat lugana. Dark enough that white shows up, but not to dark so that you can still see the holes. And all the WIPS of course are the fault of all the wonderful designers that keep on tempting us..Happy stitching!
