Hi , I had 4 days to prepare for my exam. I was quite nervous . But thanks to this channel , i got 8 in overall (R-9 L-9 W-7 and S - 7.5 . I didn't have much time to prepare for writing and speaking. But listening and reading i did it from this channel. I recommend everyone to at least watch all the reading and listening videos from this channel.

Thank you Chris, I wish I found about you sooner. I got overall 7 on my IELTS Academic, with 7L, 7R, 7S, 7W. Results. My main piece of advice would be to ''FOCUS''. I lost focus at reading, scrobbling through last 10 questions on my reading part, and knowing that I would surely got a higher grade. Thank you.
Note: Please prepare for your IELTS weeks before the real test. I prepared for 3 hours only, and got a overall 7. This would have been higher, please dedicate your time to preparing.

I took the IELTS test 3 times and I managed to improve from 6 to 8.5 in Reading. Between my 2nd and 3rd retake, I went from 7 to 8.5 only in three months just when I did one thing differently: I stopped reading and understanding the whole text. I find it completely misleading and disingenuous to tell people to fully understand everything in the text. You are a native speaker and you have been teaching IELTS for a living, so obviously it seems easy for you. It is really striking to me though how disconnected you are from relating to your students’ struggle.
And why the negativity towards other instructors? For a non-native speaker an 8 is still a progress, and I'm proud of anyone making progress and sharing their journey trying to help! Those instructors’ advice was really helpful for me and I will always be grateful!

You can do it in a shorter period of time, depends on your skills and motivation! 3 months was actually the period that the test was available for me to retake again, there were no free spots before that. But essentially, I give the formula that worked for me and I hope my experience can benefit you to accelerate your learning! But at the end of the day, you have to practice for sometime to achieve that result ! Unfortunately I don’t have the magic wound to make it happen overnight! ;)

I just wanted to tell everyone here that I have seen other IELTS videos about reading on RUclips and, in comparison, your strategies are more realistic and doable, while I can tell you that the other gurus seems like they have never taken an IELTS test before. So I have my IELTS test in a few days.
2 weeks ago I was practicing with the first example you cited. I obtained high scores with their mock tests. As high as 38 out of 40 questions.
After practicing all of their mock tests I went onto to the IELTS ready member platform and I failed miserably on their practice tests even scoring as low as 10.
Moral lesson, their training platform didn’t exactly prepare me for the exams. I would have failed the IELTS miserably if I had proceeded to write the exams without sourcing for more information.
There’s a lot of materials out there, you the student have to firstly understand the IELTS and then once you understand you should be able to filter through accurate and inaccurate training materials.
Anyways, all the best to everyone!

Instead of going on and on about how your strategies work, just go straight to the point. A person in the right mind can tell by themselves if the tips make sense or not. Or at least just explain how they work briefly or at the end instead of more than half the video lol. I will take IELTS Academic paper exam, however I have ADHD that leads me to miss some points. When I am doing mock exam to myself, for the reading part, I am completing within 30 minutes and having band of 6.5. The issue in here is, I forget rapidly what I read and it makes me frustrated. So, my question is "do you have any suggestion for people with ADHD?"

Well, It depends on individual’s ability. If you are loaded with full range of vocabularies then you will quickly grasp the ideas. I guess there are no any certain tricks for reading, it’s all about how much you understand from your own knowledge.

They aren’t teachers, they are RUclipsrs.
Most wouldn’t be able to get an entry-level teaching job in any decent school due to their lack of teaching qualifications. Most don’t even have a high score on the IELTS test itself.

What about the ‘teachers’ selling fake IELTS certificates. Do they have their ‘own way’?
What about the RUclipsrs who make up lies about test predictions. Do they have their ‘own way’?
What about the RUclipsrs lying to viewers about their qualifications. Do they have their ‘own way’?
What about the RUclipsrs who hire models and pretend they are real students. Do they have their ‘own way’?
What about the RUclipsrs posting fake success stories. Do they have their ‘own way’?

    Hi Chris
I have a question. I was told that the questions and answers in the IELTS reading exam will follow a sequence, for example, if the answer of the first question is in paragraph number 2 so, it is not possible that the answer of question number 2 preceeds it.
    Is it correct?
Because what I found was, it is nothing to do with the sequence of the questions or the paragraph the answer could be anywhere in the paragraph
    Is that correct?

IS IT POSSIBLE TO GET TWO ANSWERS FROM THE SAME LETTER IN MATCHING TYPE?
FOR EXAMPLE, IF YOU HAD ALREADY PICKED LETTER A AS AN ANSWER THAT MATCHES WITH A CERTAIN PARAGRAPH, IS THERE A CHANCE THAT SAME LETTER COULD BE THE RIGHT ANSWER AGAIN FOR ANOTHER PARAGRAPH?

I, on the other hand, believe there should be somebody. I just can't believe there isn't anyone who has reached that score. Unfortunately, I can't find any evidence. What do you think?
