Kyrie was never that player before in his entire career except when Lebron forced him to be. Even when Lebron did that, Kyrie still had his stubborn selfish moments. So as a businessman, why would you expect him to change out of nowhere. The risk was high and it worked out. But there was no evidence of him changing in Dallas before they made the deal. So yea it was poor risk management.
