    Too bad the yuppies took over and the sad part is most of them aren't from Dallas.

      My first exposure was in 1976......it was REAL back then, prior to the Yuppies took over.

      Aaa Even then...I still wouldn’t call it ghetto. Ppl that actually live in the ghetto in Dallas would kill to live in Deep Ellum.

      Downtown was upscale but Deep Ellum originally started out as a Ghetto. The man did say at the end, “ Deep Ellum was a bit dangerous”
