I listen to a lot of random vgm, and often find games I have never heard of that happen to have bangers. Snipperclips Plus is a good example, found it on a funky vgm mix but knew nothing about it prior.
Some ost's I like: Driveclub, Grid 2 (is dynamic in game which is really cool), Project Cars 2, The Crew, Trackmania Sunrise and of course the best ost of all, Prince Of Persia on the Game Boy Color (especially language select) :)
By no means are these underrated but i'll take any time to ride these devs, all of Supergiant games' games have killer osts (Bastion, Transistor, Pyre, and a little game called Hades). Im still livid Transistor never won a steam award for best ost, but if it was gonna lose to anyone i glad its Nier Automata (also nice vid)
I don't know which games to suggest, I'm not sure I understood the criteria. Great licensed soundtracks from hidden games? We have Lollipop Chainsaw, Spec Ops: The Line, or Wet. Great original sountracks from old games that aren't frequently talked about? MediEvil, Toy Story 2 and Aladdin Nasira's Revenge were my childhood on PS1, not to mention Stronghold. Or good soundtracks from very unknown games? Well, I grew up playing Flash games like Rogue Soul 2, Royal Squad, House of Wolves, and an older free game called The Juicer. I'm not sure which of these soundtracks can be considered underrated
I don't like the robots game soundtrack. It sounds way too generic. Especially compared to the movie soundtrack, but even when compared to other soundtracks on this list. It just sounds like something made for a kids movie like alpha and omega, that weird movie about wolves that has dennis hopper in it

Hot shots gold fore on the PS2 will always be my favorite gaming ost. I've never seen anyone talk about the music in that game when it is amazing.

I recommend the soundtracks for de blob and de blob 2. It's a pretty unknown game but the soundtracks are amazing

Lego Island Extreme Stunts has a vocal soundtrack based on Oasis.

You should listen to the OST of the gba/ds version of Robots, that goes insanely hard, easily in my top 5 of favourite game OSTs of all time

Alcahest for the SNES is so slept on. Gameplay isn't the best, but holy shit the soundtrack is amazing.
Listen to the Epic Mickey OST. They did not have to go so far with some of the songs
YuGiOh The Duelists of the Roses has one of the best OSTs of all time.
