I finally tried this ! I found that using my airbrush gun to blow the alcohol inks around works great to chase the running inks . Had so much fun with it !
I messaged you on FB my favorite color...Also I love your videos. They are so informative and I'm learning how to make tumblers by just watching you. Thx you so much!
Hello!!! It has been fun to follow you on Facebook and Instagram. I am kind of new to using Instagram. Wild Plum just happens to be one of my favorites. But I also use these colors in jewelry! You just cannot go wrong. However, I especially like your use of the gold flakes! Simply elegant! Well done! And thank you! Blessings and Re Jouir -Darlene
New subscriber here and just now learning about resin and alcohol inks. Thank you for the detailed information! 😃 Is the epoxy you use safe for people to put their mouths on? I saw in another video some people would leave an inch or so untreated and unpainted from the top for this reason but perhaps they were using something that was not “food” safe or safe for people. I saw another comment below where someone did this but had a line she didn’t like. Just curious. I’m trying to learn a lot before I just jump in and mess up. Yes I’m a bit timid and must be frugal.
70% alcohol works just fine as well. And so does dawn dish soap with water as prep after sanding, before painting and not handling your cup with bare hands after spray paint prior to epoxy. A lot of people and beginners will rush with alcohol wiping down their cups and not leaving enough time for the alcohol to fully dissipate and they are left with fish eyes. Especially with certain epoxy's. for instance KS resin liquidity split is not a fan of alcohol before application.
I’m glad it works for you! That’s awesome, unfortunately, I have tried 71% alcohol and it just didn’t work. My epoxy fish eyed. I haven’t tried Dawn but that’s something I am willing to try! Since the epoxy fish eyeing , I have only used 91% and 99% and I only use Alumilite and KS Resin epoxy and I’ve never had a problem. Thanks for sharing! Smile
@@MissKissKreations I don’t have a problem when I use KS liquid art and 91% alcohol but when I use any alcohol before my liquidity split it fish eyes sooo bad for me! So lately I have just been making sure to not touch my prepped cup with bare hands until after my epoxy is done. I will sand, wash with dawn dish soap and let it dry really well then put my last coat on with no issues! I was just hoping to be able to help with an alternative the shortage on alcohol! Here where I live in Michigan I’m lucky to find bottles of 71% sometimes and I just can’t fathom ordering 91% on amazon for the prices they charge when I used to get it for a $1-$2 max!
@@MissKissKreations beautiful beautiful cup btw! ❤️ I hope you didn’t take my comment as me being rude! I was on my computer so I was just typing very dry lol still getting used to that compared to my cell phone haha
This is gorgeous! Now on my to-do list. 😊. Is the football you used the one that is 5.5”? How did you drill out the hole down the center? Thank you for sharing! 🌼
Can you put the tumbler on the dish washer? Is there any specific product to use all the way to the end so its safe to use and wash withouth damage on the product or our health?
Make sure your tumbler is properly prepped but sanding and cleaning off with 91% alcohol. Also, make sure your paint is 100% dry before adding the inks.
I taped about an inch from my rim since thats where the mouth goes but now i have this edge where the tape was How do i avoid that? If i sand it and epixy again the same thing would happen i imagine. Help! Lol
This cup would be even more gorgeous with a little bit of Island Shimmer by islandmicasandmore.com mixed into the final coat of resin. It's not a glitter, it's like a transparent powder, but it just gives the cup a sparkle.
If you’re referring to cleaning up the alcohol ink. It’s because 91% alcohol cleans up the alcohol ink without cleaning up the spray paint. Acetone would eat through the spray paint
@@MissKissKreations I am not trying to be "that dick" but, if you'll notice (on another video you made) you cleaned up the alcohol ink with acetone... I love your video's but, I am worried that the inconsistencies may cornfuse other people.
I am about 3 years late. Just getting into this. Good news is no problem getting alcohol or gloves. Great info. TY
for your info you can use vinegar to clean instead of alcool if you don't find it anywhere. it works very well
Miss I kiss ur creations 😍😍😍😍😍👌👌👌👌👌 simply awesome

I tried this but the spray paint came off when i used the brush (with a little of alcohol) to tap the ink around. Could it b the brand of alcohol ink?
I love the look of this cup. Is there a way to put a white glitter underneath the alcohol inks? Would you get the same effect?
Yes. Just epoxy over the glitter. Then do the effect
😍😍😍😍
Love it Leela❤
If I buy a white tumble that is white glossy do I still have to sand it? Love your video is just beautiful.
Yes you do and thank you!
Super cute! :) So pretty! (By the way, couldn't help but notice you have the same thumbs as me! lol)
Like M. Foxx 😀
Can you do can you do a video of how you made your Tumblr spinner
I purchased mine from SpencersCreations5 on Etsy
This is gorgeous! Now on my to-do list. 😊. Is the football you used the one that is 5.5”? How did you drill out the hole down the center? Thank you for sharing! 🌼
You can buy them at dollar tree! Just pull the black stick out and put your tumbler arm in the hole!
Can you use the water color (alcohol inks) on a tumbler with the Tackit? So do tack it, and then do the water color with the alcohol inks?
I’m not sure. I haven’t done that. But worth the try. 😊
Can you do this on a already epoxied cup?
Can you put the tumbler on the dish washer? Is there any specific product to use all the way to the end so its safe to use and wash withouth damage on the product or our health?
I always recommend hand wash only
The last time I put epoxy over alcohol ink it separated and looked terrible. What did I do wrong? Was I supposed to seal it first?
I don’t seal mine. But I let the alcohol sit on the tumbler for at least 24 hours before I epoxy
How long do they need to cure before you can send to someone. Thank you
I wait a week before I post for READY TO SHIP.
Can you do the same process on a glass wine cup?
yes
I don't have any gold flakes, cold I use fine glitter?
It won’t be exactly the same. But it will still look pretty! 😃
I was trying this out as my first tumbler but the alcohol keeps taking off my paint. Any suggestions?
Make sure your tumbler is properly prepped but sanding and cleaning off with 91% alcohol. Also, make sure your paint is 100% dry before adding the inks.
this alcohol ink can be used just over fresh epoxy?
Yes it can! 😃
Question: did you spray paint the tumbler with flat white spray or gloss white spray?
I use flat white. I think the alcohol inks work better.
My apologies I just went back to look at the video again & you did day that at the beginning. I must've missed it. But thank you for the video.
I like it without the gold
So you sanded the stainless steel before you painted it? Do you always do that?
Yes.
Can I ask why sand the cup before painting I am new to making cups thanks in advance
I believe it's so the paint can stick. There's a coating on the tumbler that needs to be sanded off.
Just wondering if you ever did the give away on this or did I miss it somewhere?
I did 🥰
I taped about an inch from my rim since thats where the mouth goes but now i have this edge where the tape was How do i avoid that? If i sand it and epixy again the same thing would happen i imagine. Help! Lol
Maybe sanding lightly

Why do you use alcohol to clean up? Can't you use acetone?

Is it washable ..means ink is not erase
Yes. Hand wash
Could you use glitter instead of the gold flakes?
You sure can! I would apply it the same way. A little bit of mod podge then seal it with the Krylon acrylic sealer
@@MissKissKreations thank you! Heading to Facebook to message you
Can I use methylene alcohol?
I am not too sure to be honest!

Beautiful. But extremely repetitive video. It was like she said the same thing about 15-20 times.
Thankfully it’s a tutorial. Thank you for the view! 🥰
Repetition helps the information stick. 😊
