- Need for Speed Underground 2. This game doesn't even need an introduction.. Millions upon million of NFS players grew up with this golden gem. Me being one of the many who grew up with NFS Underground 2 going back to this game put an even bigger smile on my face than I expected. If you so happen to have never played NFS U2, I am here to tell you to get this game TODAY, and live through the early 2000's / mid 2000's Fast and Furious influenced NFS titles like Underground 2. If you want the R34 to sound like an R34 (you can also use this for other cars), then only install the following engine upgrades: Cold Air Intake System, High Flow Intake Manifold, Large Diameter Downpipe, Racing Camshaft and Gears, Port and Polish Heads, High Flow Headers. Enjoy!
When I beat the game again I'll do this for now trying to unlock the rx7, man replaying nfs underground 2 really made me smile the whole time

Or if you had some experience with modding; you can use the NFS-VltED for swapping the engine sound file in “caraudio” section with all the engine sound files collection in “engineaudio” section.
Still shocking to me how this game 20 years old now still better than the previous 3 releases.
On new nfs releases. I only loved heat.
@@nomanssouls1957 I did not love heat but it was serviceable, definitely better than paybacks. Payback was supposed to be good hell drivability and customizability I loved it compared to Heat. but oh my gad that gacha system for perfomance customization killed it for me. after 5 hours I just cheated it and did not care enough for any multiplayer.

@@Jayden_o777 Ahh yes always forgot abut that, thanks for reminding me. EA is not the devs but the publishers. They just publish it, and give the resources and rights to the devs right? as well as the death of countless deaths to game game studios. Ahh I feel so disconnected with EA now... I hope the splinter cell from Playground game will make a better Forza Horizon.
The very fact this game is 20, the OG NFS is 30, and Rivals is already 10 is shocking to the say the least.
i swear every time i watch a underground video and see some wild customization it inspires me to love that car even more
to be honest, it is very annoying with its monotony. Yeah, there is something interesting parts from the first Underground, but the new parts are the same for almost all cars

@@kyrios_rn Well I agree that the last stages car parts are literally horryfing (and not to mention that were copy & paste on each vehicle, minus the SUVs); which I'm glad they toned down the atrocious parts (well sometimes) in the next NFS; It might be nowadays each vehicle has different brands of car parts, i'd rather prefer that each car part follows the car's architecture lines than just repeat the generic parts over & over that disrupts the car's lines.

Honestly i can't believe this game is ~20 years old now. Used to be a kid and loved playing this after school.
Now i'm a grown man, however i still love it ! It's just a video game sure but so many good memories tied to it for me that makes things like this stick with you for the rest of your life.
I love how the older this game gets, the bigger appreciation it receives and still one of the most goated nfs game or racing game. I hope this game would still be preserved as years go by xD

Man was playing underground 2 the other day and I swear I think this one race on street X made me rage harder then when I was a kid, had to restart that shit 10 times to beat, playing on normal with a tune car hit so different

What I love about this game was the music, which together with night time creates this amazing climate of illegal street races.

I remember that to win an easy outrun, one has to activate it when for example in the lane it is and then switch to the other side, if don't correctly the ai gets confused and smashes into the wall finding its path to you and while it tries to fix itself the bar is already full. And the Garibaldi run race bug to free run on the you area in split screen or the stage three hydraulic to face a wall and suddenly get yeeted upward or getting out of bounds on a specific race and driving literally on the runway. I remember finishing the game with only the AE86 as my starter car and made it similar to initial d.
I wouldnt drive at night in Bayview, those street racers hit everything and everyone. But iam not sure if daytime Rockport is a better place :)

But a fun memory is when I challenged my friend to a drift race on the biggest map 10 laps, told him to use any car and I'll used the H2, he used a maxed out Supra and his car was so wild it could only do donuts while I drifted and prob did near 3million points while he barely made 250k and with my help lol.

As a person who just beat nfsu2 on pc. That glitch where cars throw themselves at the sky barrier happens all the time. There is even a few url races i played where coming out of one of the corners they would get flung into the wall at high speeds

A little advice if u hate the engine sound that comes with stage 3 and prefer the original is to just manually upgrade the parts individually. I don't remember the part to leave off but the performance trade off isn't really noticeable
