Effing hell I want the illustrated one!!!! And I love that box set, it looks very classy! I read these back in school and I think they deserve a revisit!
I didn’t know there was an illustrated version coming out this year; just checked and it looks like in the states it’s coming out a few days before my birthday so I know what I’m buying myself for a present this year 🥰 lovely collection, totally resonate with the discussion at the beginning about thankfully this being a beloved series and an author that still holds up! You’re never too old to learn new things and I appreciate that he’s open to admitting he’s not an expert on certain things, and he’s willing to learn and grow rather than double down on harmful rhetoric!
Right? I always use him as an example of how author should deal with being called out on being prejudiced, what a good dude 🙌 I hope you love the illustrated edition, happy early birthday! xx

I own the Everyman's Library edition, it took me aaages to read that (seriously, like two/three years), because I don't like big books, even though it was technically three books hahahah. I looove the box set that matches the Book of Dust editions, I think those might be my faves (besides the illustrated one, obviously)

The everymans library edition of His Dark Materials has some short little stories and things about the world in between each book! In case you haven't read that edition.
I love philip pullman! I've read the first two books in hdm and I've also slightly chaotically read book 1 & 2 in tbod. That 25th anniversary of northern lights is stunning! What did you think of the TV show? I'm very excited to read the amber spyglass but I'm nervous....
I did enjoy the tv show but it seriously didn't do the books justice imo 😭 I haven't finished The Amber Spyglass yet; I read the first 70 or so pages but it felt really slow. I think I'll reread the first two then read the third one? Not sure yet hehe

I loved this video! The audiobooks for His Dark Materials are amazing, they have a full cast and sound effects that just pull you in to the story.
