Looked like so much fun. Such beautiful ole buildings and scenery.
Looks like a blast, we went threre and went through six of the mansions, so amazzing, would love to go back some day.
I grew up and still go to Newport every summer so I loved this! Highly suggest going back to the mansions at Christmas, it’s magical!

The Breakers is a 75 room, Italian Renaissance Villa, referred to as a Summer Cottage designed by Richard Morris Hunt, was used only six weeks out of the year for the summer. Anderson, Coopers mother, Gloria Vanderbilt, grew up in this house.
That mansion was beautiful! Reminds me of the Biltmore, especially the two-story pantry with the China stored on the second level.
This mansion and the Biltmore were built by the Vanderbilts. No doubt they had the same architect for all their mansions

Oh my. The Breakers is beyond incredible! Were you told it was one of many Vanderbilt Mansons? So much history. One of these days I will go up north and see this. Newport was a summer play-land for the rich. I love anything about the Gilded Age. I must’ve watched. I don’t know how many videos on RUclips and researched. Have you watched the Gilded Age on Max? It’s really good.
I haven’t watched but I want to! I also want to read Anderson Cooper’s book about the Vanderbilt family.

I grew up in RI and have spent so much time in Newport. The best summer of my life was the year I graduated from High School (1971) yes before you were even born...lol I was a nanny for a family that had a summer home on Ocean Drive. It was the last one before you passed Hammersmith Farm where John F Kennedy and Jackie vacationed. It was her parents home. Sadly it is no longer open to the public. I was best friends with Jackie's sister's nanny and we got together with the children everyday. We even got to have lunch with Jackie when she was visiting. Jackie's Mom was a sweetheart and loved having all the children around. If we werent at Hammersmith or at the home I lived at we were at Baileys Beach enjoying the beach and pool.Also attended some childrens bday parties in a couple of the homes on Bellevue Ave. It truely was a summer I will never forget. Beautiful experience for sure getting to see how some of these families lived.

This video made me homesick! I grew up in RI and went to college very close to Newport at URI. It is such a wonderful town to visit- so glad you got to see it!
Hi Tiffany, so glad to hear you loved Rhode Island. I am proud to say I have called this beautiful state home for all of my 72 years. Sounds like you visited beautiful South County and Aquidneck Island. Next time you come to visit, check out Blithewold Mansion in Bristol Rhode Island and have some tea. I live in Barrington, which is fairly close to Newport. Bristol is two towns over from me. I also spent most of my teaching career in Bristol. R.I. Is also beautiful in the summer. Beaches are gorgeous! Also enjoy great food at the Coastguard House in Narragansett. So glad you and your friends had a great time. Come again!

Aww I LOVE this! My sister went to Salve for her undergrad.. love Newport!! So much fun ❤⚓️ also love the clip of the Kennedy church!! ⛪️ it’s so beautiful. I’m not sure if it’s called that but I do know that one of the Kennedy’s got married there 😂
Newport is beautiful but than again I take it for granted of it cuz I’m like 20 minutes away. It is a definitely must at Christmas the mansions inside are absolutely beautiful!! The breakers is the best one to see at Christmas it is absolutely stunning. If you like burgers definitely go to The Black Pearl they are awesome!!
I guess I'm Out of the Loop... I have never heard of I.V.s at the spa...! Glad you were able to have a nice time out with your friends... I used to have a weekend away every year with my Quilt group... such a needed break from the family/kids...even though I love them! I have n ever eaten an Oyster!.... maybe should add it to my bucket list!

If you are ever in Asheville, North Carolina visit the Biltmore Mansion. It was the summer home of the Vanderbilts. It is amazing also.

Hi Tiffany! I live in CT and have been to Newport several times. What a fun place. I have done the cliff walk and have seen most of the mansions. The Rose Cliff mansion is my favorite. There are quite a few times in my younger days, that those IV infusions would have come in handy, LOL! Have a great weekend. 😊

Funny, most of us Rhode Islanders want to go north to New Hampshire or Vermont to get away! Newport is beautiful, though. One of my childhood playgrounds.

How fun Tiffany, thanks for letting us be a small part of your girls trip. I lived in Ct. for a couple of years while a small child. I have such fond memories of that area and can’t wait to plan a trip back there. We will definitely need to include The Beakers Mansion, so stunning. Can’t believe it was there summer home! Haha it isn’t for everyone but it was a very cool and unique experience.
I live in North Carolina and have never been up that way. Definitely need to make the trip. Love your adventures 😊. Also, can NOT wrap my head around someone actually living in such a beautiful home. I could fit a hundred of my tiny house in that home.

What an fantastic trip. If you ever make it over to the UK there are some amazing stately homes to visit.
Quite a few decorate the houses for Christmas too with elaborate decorations. You’ve never seen Christmas trees so big! Everything you did looked amazing!
