The first fight felt like the adult death claws were waiting to see how the young one would do and as soon as it looked like it would get ganked they all came in to counter gank.
Maybe like after the ncr takes over they forcefully send a bunch of free side thugs to go there to clear it out for them. Better than losing their own troops.

I knew pretty quickly how screwed they were when a sizeable group was struggling to kill the small one at the start That and the legion at least had ranks and with ranks came better firearms and some structure, it wasn't just enough to have 100 guys with tire irons and pool ques lmao it was immensely satisfying as in a real scenario people would be scared off rip at how big the intermediate ones are and die trying to run away as they got ripped apart.
Spoiler: Lmao from my experience of luring Camp Searchlight troops into taking over Cottonwood (+ncr Radio) and luring Orris and his goons into killing the Securitrons to get the "Gate Key" early; my instinctive guess was at least 100 freeside thugs to kill all those deathclaws. The second I saw Orris i knew it was a wrap. He packs a punch.

If organised as opposed to a rabble then about 50. Unfortunately these act much as they do in the game. My new build is lv15 & my favourite weapon is the Laser RCW. I'm playing hard-core survival mode & even then in VATS I target leg, then weapon arm, then head & finally torso. Its never got past the arm😂😂😂 before they are disintegrated😂😂😂. I did the King quest concerning the bodyguard & wiped him & then his thug cronies in about 15 seconds with the RCW.😂😂😂 We need a proper battle. How about Thugs versus Raiders. Great stuff & thank you.
this is great, i recommend you do it with ncr troopers next. considering that’s probably what the NCR uses for problems like this, just an assload of soldiers
Roughly it took 1,147 freeside thugs to clear the junction. Out of that 1,147 only around 12 survived to establish “New Freeside” a colony of the remaining thugs where they’d set up a new home for outcasts like themselves to lay down their weapons after witnessing the horrors of the quarry. They set up a memorial/mass grave to commemorate and bury the fallen thugs.
Military tacticians agree that by answering these two important questions 1. Do you like that? and 2. Have you had enough? you, too, can secure your army's victory.

@@quint3ssent1a the most common weapon for them is like a switch, blade or baseball bat or whatever but they do occasionally there like 80% melee 20% pistol and they’re generally 357 magnum‘s 9 mm pistols or 10 mm pistols. SMG‘s are rare.

One person can be equipped with something like Gauss Rifle or something else very highly damaging and clear out the entire Quarry all by himself, than thousands of people all equipped with silenced .22 pistols could ever hope to...
There's something incredible in that shot where the veritable wave of Freeside thugs descends down the hill to enter a lethal quadrille with those four or so deathclaws at the quarry's chokepoint.

This really does put things into perspective. When you think about it, most wastelanders would be pretty similarly equipped to the Freeside Thugs, if only marginally better. Even singular deathclaws mow down a dozen plus men without breaking a sweat.
Would be neat to see how many Kings it takes, though I almost hate to ask you to do this to them lol. I assume you are working towards doing this with every faction. Also a Kings vs NCR battle would be cool.
