I changed my oil the other day I was scared to check the oil pick up after watching one of your videos but thankfully it was clean as a whistle. Thanks for your wisdom
Yes that rattle is the same exact noise I get on my 2007 Hiace 1kd Cold engine it's not noticable until around 2500rpm onwards but the moment the water temp hits normal, that noise is from idle onwards and only under acceleration including highway speeds. Injectors were replaced 15k ago/ oil-filter changed recently and monifold cleaned recently but that noise is still there. Toyota dealers don't know what it is.
I have a 3L 2.8 diesel with a tick tick knock knock. You think it’s the 32 year old injectors? Or could it be a manifold leak or exhaust leak? Or EGR valve? I got no smoke, engine runs strong, oil tested. Any help would be great since you fellas over there deal with these 3L’s over there. Much love for USA.
Worked with diesels for 52 years and the only time we serviced injectors is if the engine started poorly or blew smoke under load. We have never had a cracked piston or a failed injector seat, so what does that say about this engine?
My 2010 was rattling its tits off exactly like that when it was cold and got a bout 70% better when it was warm, I changed out the MAP sensor and filter, I cleaned and kept the old MAP sensor for a spare, I cleaned the MAF sensor also and replaced the scv then had the relearn done, the injector values were very good so didn’t touch them, my car now runs like a new one, so much less pedal required on the highway, it is very noticeably smoother and quieter at idle even, unfortunately I did all things at the same time so can’t pinpoint what actually made the difference if it was only one thing. 🤷♂️😁

Hi, did you solve your noise? My hiace does exactly the same
Great advice thanks.

It's everything common rail. All timebombs
Do u service 200 series?
My 1kd rattles a lot at idle and is way underpowered would it be injectors?

Can you record the audio for these at the same time to make podcasts? Love to listen to ypur library of knowledge while on the commute!
Yes l had the piggyback fuel filter
On corrugations it creaked and shook like crazy.
Had to remove it before it was going too tear off.
Problem fixed.
