It's possible you already have an entire video focused towards explaining copy right, but if not could you please make one. The thing about copy right that scares me is, I've heard in the past RUclipsrs used certain music and because of using it they had to delete a ton of their old videos. Probably because they were using copy right popular music. I'd just like to put music in my videos that won't get taken down 5-10 years from now and lose all those videos because I simiply used the wrong music. I'll be giving your ad a try. Great video btw think it's very helpful to alot of new RUclipsrs. Cheers
I will never think about the word package the same way ever again. This video was packing it. In all seriousness great video! Can't wait to try the thumbnail tool!
Am I just massively immature? I'm impressed he was able to say package the way he did without cracking a smile. Definitely wrote these tips down. Very valuable information.
Really enjoy the change up to tips for RUclips, I feel like a big mistake I make is trying to cut down my stream and post it onto RUclips, I find the people who watched it had already watched the stream, and so would comment about being in the video but leave after 20 seconds. I really appreciate the tips on retention rate, and I feel as if posting RUclips original content is my best chance at growing and retaining viewers. Thanks as always Eljay
Honestly, I REALLY agree with you. RUclips original content or content that takes your Stream and makes it a new experience is the only way to do this anymore. Very tough otherwise I find. #earlygang
I started watching your Twitch videos back in January of this year, I'm proud to say that after 4 months of hard work, making my stream experience unique for my viewer (your streams were in the milk aisle, mine in space, or I guess you could say the milky-way lol) I'm averaging 10 viewers per stream, building a great community with my Discord, and getting ready to launch the RUclips side of my content... I'm also actually earning a little money in the process too, which is neato 😅 Thank you for the guidance in my earliest days, whenever people ask how to do what I do I always send them your way 😉
@@cynicalia wow I forgot about this comment haha. Well, to put it plainly, I got hit with a massive amount of burnout. I still stream, and I'm actually going live tonight in about 11 hours from now, but my passions are more focused on writing DnD content now. I've been a writer all my life and it's something I'm really passionate about. My viewers like DnD so they enjoy how I've integrated things. Aside from that I'm going to trade school now to be an electrician as well, streaming still pays a bill for me every now and then which is great, but it's inconsistent. My advice to anyone who wants to get into this is 3 things, 1: do it because it's fun, getting into it for money or to be popular or whatever are the two worst reasons to pursue it in any other way other than for fun. 2, don't expect it to go anywhere, no one knows you, and no one owes you anything. And 3, if it does go somewhere and you become successful, stay humble, nobody likes that guy that thinks he's the shit because he's popular. That's pretty much it. A final piece of advice for anyone looking to do this seriously, is to save up first. it's very hard to balance a full time job and do this while also having a social or romantic life, so save up. When you have enough money to support yourself for at least 7 months, then you have the freedom to pursue this worry free. Maybe that means lowering your weekly hours at work to give you editing time or something else, at least you know you can feed yourself and pay your bills. And if after 6 months of streaming 4 times a week does get you anywhere, don't be afraid to call it, or cut back to once a week to stay in touch with your viewers. Hopefully this doesn't sound too negative or anything, I still think streaming is a really fun thing to try doing and I don't regret pursuing it seriously. But it's hard to justify when you're slowly slipping into debt because of it and ruining your sleep schedule over it too. Best of luck to anyone looking to give it a shot

Sorry for the lenghty comment, keep the good stuff coming, you're great! ♥

I m just starting out my RUclips journey and I m about to delve into long form content. I have to admit I am not entirely sure how I am going to cater my content to a key demographic but at least have a better idea on how to present it now, thank you :)
I agree. I started with putting up clips from streams on here, mainly for ease of sharing since Twitch deletes them after a certain time period. But I found my tips/tricks videos tend to get more views, even with horrible thumbnails. It also seems content, even if it's just clips, from certain games does better than similar content from other, more popular games. I just don't always have the energy and/or ideas to do tips/tricks videos.
Your videos are an absolute life saver, I myself love to torture myself with games so I’ve decided to do can I beat gaming videos on Left 4 dead which I believe is very niche but still popular to grow in. I also stream some of the challenges with titles such as beating such and such which has caused me to see some pretty fast growth with reaching 4 average viewers and a couple regulars. My only worry is not being able to upload consistently but what matters is I’m having fun like I just wrote a 2000 word script for a video and had fun. I would never think that I would be enjoying writing anything
I LOVE script writing so much, one of my favourite stages! It visualises the value, story, and is just really enjoyable to write the jokes in imagining the pay off!
This video has come out at the right time. I've been brainstorming video ideas in a topic for a demographic and this really helped. Also, you said package a lot lmao... I have the maturity of a 12 year old sometimes 🤣
Hi Eljayem not sure if this is the right place to ask but ive decided to start making how to videos on my channel per your advice, but there is an issue I've had in the past with making videos and that's because my microphone (blue yeti x) is so sensitive it picks up the sound of my breathing along with clattering on the keyboard , I've tried a bunch of solutions such as filters like noise suppression and noise gate to fiddling with all the dials on the microphone through trial and error and moving it around my desk but have had no luck with out seriously degrading the sound quality of the video im willing to buy a new microphone but would rather not if there's a simple solution im missing hope you see this and thankyou for making all these videos ive always found them really useful.

@@StreamScheme I planned on making a mic of art and variety streamer content so I’m trying to figure out how I can implement what you’ve laid out here. Hopefully I can apply it.
Absolutely amazing video! There are some stuff in this video I NEVER got told once I started making RUclips content. I do have a question though: Right now, I've went into covering hot gaming topics, early access games and recent releases. It seems like my community have enjoyed the content. In the past almost 2 months I've been doing that, I've had some videos hit as high as 1.2k views and my most recent one seemed to have almost died the second I uploaded it. Do you think the packaging is the issue or is it the topic itself? Be as brutally honest as possible if you must 😅
I took a quick look, personally I think that is a packaging issue. Often people try to intrigue by adding a question, but sometimes its better to just be VERY clear. Look at CallMeKevin, if people don't know a game he titles it: "This Game BLANK BLANK BLANK" that is clear and simple.
@@StreamScheme Gotcha! I was thinking it was a packaging issue, but I think I needed a second opinion. Thank you, Eljay! I really appreciate what you do for streamers and content creators ♥
This was super helpful - thanks Eljay! 🍻 My channel is doing pretty well but the growth seems slow and I'm having a hard time converting views to subs (20k views this month but 96% not subbed). Any tips on why that would be? Is it my package? 😱 Upload frequency? The fact that I'm mainly covering a game in a lull? (Valheim). Thanks in advance!
Thank u for all the advice sadly I'm still not going and growing strong but I'll keep trying I do alot of Roblox and honestly I could really do with advice and help prob not of any value to anyone sorry i waste time for ppl just think not cut out for yt as I don't compare to bigger channels
The song might technically be public domain, but the Orchestras who PERFORM the music copyright their performances. This is one of the major misconceptions, people think old classics are safe to use but the reality is you can receive strikes for most performances because they below to the Orchestra.
My favourite thing is when the Thumbnail asks a question and the Video Title responds to it in some way. The Synergy between Words on Thumbnail and words in Video Title are super important. One of my favourite youtubers had in the Thumbail "Today is going to be the Best Day Ever" His opening words to the video "It was the worst day ever"
You have exceeded your max allowed usage of the work "package" The cooldown for the word "package" will end on July 17th. After the aforementioned date, you may use it once again. Have a good day!
Honestly, I actually have the 3 major points of this video on sticky notes next to my computer and also in their own column in Trello so I never forget them. #earlygang
Topics or focuses tend to be better split between channels, for example this video on RUclips growth will underperform because most people here are streamers who just want to stream.
Topics or focuses tend to be better split between channels, for example this video on RUclips growth will underperform because most people here are streamers who just want to stream.
I tried to use a 15 second clip of diggy diggy hole (by napalm records) for an outro on a video on a different channel. Got copyrighted. Can I avoid it if I shorten it to 10 secs?
@@StreamScheme what gets me is I can briefly use copyrighted music without getting stuck. But if it goes too long it definitely does. I like rickrolling people in Fortnite.
@@killiancraftofcraftyworks975 The longer it is just means there are more chances to get caught by the system, this doesn't mean being shorter is safe or legally allowed to be used. It's just harder to get caught.
I don’t know.. I still think is a lot luck based Seeing many trashy videos with thousands of views.. or clickbait ones with thousands of subs, and many awesome videos with very good titles and thumbnails that do stand out, with barely views My videos are bad so I’m not talking about mine. I have seen some amazing youtubers with like 1-10k subs and videos with 200 views and they are amazing But the algorithm haven’t pick them up.. yet still recommends me the same clickbait video with an arrow pointing at something and saying “you wouldn’t believe this” or something like that
If you spend your entire life thinking it’s luck you’ll never see any growth. The harder you work the less luck you need. There is a bit of luck, but the reality is RUclips is an algorithm that is strangely simple.
That may be true but idk RUclips used to recommend my channel a little bit more and now nothing, heck it doesn’t even show my videos on my phone as recommended.. even tho I have watched them all (and it did use to recommend them) My videos take some time to edit (1-3 days depending on what I’m doing) And getting like 10 views if any.. while I see people click baiting or having the red arrow getting tons of views It just.. idk
A lot of the video is based on his interviews, and it hammers home the concept of accessibility. More people know him, and it connects better. I don’t include larger creators in thumbnails unless it feels appropriate. But I’ll take it on board.
@@CaptainJackedPickle Totally fair, just a heads up, over the next week you may see him in it, you might not. We're actually running A/B tests with this video where it tries different thumbnails I've made to learn what works best for the video and go with that. If he works best, he will be in the thumbnail, if he doesn't it will be something else.

Loved this video. Also, how many package jokes are too much?
Can you make a video on the best free editors/photoshop stuff so we can edit our videos?
Man, I hope I can master this.
This was super helpful - thanks Eljay! 🍻
My channel is doing pretty well but the growth seems slow and I'm having a hard time converting views to subs (20k views this month but 96% not subbed). Any tips on why that would be? Is it my package? 😱 Upload frequency? The fact that I'm mainly covering a game in a lull? (Valheim).
Thanks in advance!
Has anyone added up how many times he said package. This felt like a super trooper skit lol
Duuuuuude Lickd is a game changer
How cool is it?!
@@StreamScheme I've been saying for a year I want something like this. Finally it's happening!
@@RedTalksAboutStuff I love it when sponsors allign well with the community! That's awesome!
Thank u for all the advice sadly I'm still not going and growing strong but I'll keep trying I do alot of Roblox and honestly I could really do with advice and help prob not of any value to anyone sorry i waste time for ppl just think not cut out for yt as I don't compare to bigger channels
I'm confused, you said Mozart is incredibly copyrighted.
Don't you mean it's in the public domain?
The song might technically be public domain, but the Orchestras who PERFORM the music copyright their performances.
This is one of the major misconceptions, people think old classics are safe to use but the reality is you can receive strikes for most performances because they below to the Orchestra.
My favourite thing is when the Thumbnail asks a question and the Video Title responds to it in some way.
The Synergy between Words on Thumbnail and words in Video Title are super important.
One of my favourite youtubers had in the Thumbail "Today is going to be the Best Day Ever"
His opening words to the video "It was the worst day ever"
If you'll excuse me, I need to go examine my package closer up
You have exceeded your max allowed usage of the work "package" The cooldown for the word "package" will end on July 17th. After the aforementioned date, you may use it once again. Have a good day!
But... what about my package?
Hahaha now we know how many package jokes Eljay can make in 12 mins.
#EarlyGang!
#earlygang Let's go, Moka!
Perfect to watch just before I go live!!!!
Hope it helps the content journey! :) #earlygang
@@StreamScheme it definitely does:)
Back to Billy 😂
Time to get the sticky notes out to stick on the side of the screen again
Honestly, I actually have the 3 major points of this video on sticky notes next to my computer and also in their own column in Trello so I never forget them. #earlygang
Always trying to improve my package. 📦
The best and most attractive package wins!
Idk but the way Eljay is saying package sounds dirty, please stop! 😂
What's wrong with my package?
I went through a whole string of crap remixes just based on them having the same style packaging. I fell for the click bait. LOL. 🤣
I really love David Gwetta
Aye thank u for this video.💯Just tryna grow my channel
Good luck! #earlygang
New thumbnail style? Nice
Trying new styles and running A/B tests to see what works
If i did mishmash on YT is it still Worth it to work on same channel??
Topics or focuses tend to be better split between channels, for example this video on RUclips growth will underperform because most people here are streamers who just want to stream.

I recently changed my thumbnails and titles, I think it's helped, but I think it will be a long time before I get to 1,000 subscribers haha.
I would use copyrighted KINDA cause video game music is of course in a weird gray area
Wow! I at 6:56 you show your analytics for the last 28 days. I have 207 subscribers. 26.8k views 13.3k watch hours but only +54 subscribers. :(
This video has great timing since l'm currently making a video
That's awesome! Hope it helps, and hope the video goes well! #earlygang
@@StreamScheme omgggggg i wasn't expecting you to answer I just want to say that you have helped me so much!!!!!
I'm just here to hear you say package
I dunno how to feel about my package now. Oh, my videos are ok but ya, insecurities are growing!
Billy aint PACKING like eljay is LOL
I tried to use a 15 second clip of diggy diggy hole (by napalm records) for an outro on a video on a different channel. Got copyrighted.
Can I avoid it if I shorten it to 10 secs?
That’s not how DMCA works, the length isn’t a part of if.
@@StreamScheme hmm I'll have to think on this.
@@StreamScheme ok
Thanks for the clarification
Who else loves eljays videos and guides? 😄😆😀
P A C K A G E ! ! !
Thank you for another tip stream scheme I guess I need some because I need to get more subscribers
Package.
Package. #earlygang
Never thought Eljay could make me insecure about my package...
Is it small? #earlygang
@@StreamScheme It's not about the size, it's about how you use it!
So it’s not the size of my package that matters 👀
As if being entertaining wasn't hard enough, now it's just not enough. RUclips is kinda scary.
les go
Let's go! #earlygang
Did anyone else wait for the Manscaped sponsorship the entire time?
I always think of HXH 😂
Package
Hmm yes, package.
Eljay...... Did you spend 12 min making a genital joke to tell me my "package" is garbage?
Well... I didn't say it was garbage, I asked you if your package was appealing #earlygang hahaha
First
second but really close! #earlygang
There's some thing weirdly erotic about Eljay criticizing my package.
I don’t know.. I still think is a lot luck based
Seeing many trashy videos with thousands of views.. or clickbait ones with thousands of subs, and many awesome videos with very good titles and thumbnails that do stand out, with barely views
My videos are bad so I’m not talking about mine. I have seen some amazing youtubers with like 1-10k subs and videos with 200 views and they are amazing
But the algorithm haven’t pick them up.. yet still recommends me the same clickbait video with an arrow pointing at something and saying “you wouldn’t believe this” or something like that
If you spend your entire life thinking it’s luck you’ll never see any growth.
The harder you work the less luck you need.
There is a bit of luck, but the reality is RUclips is an algorithm that is strangely simple.
That may be true but idk
RUclips used to recommend my channel a little bit more and now nothing, heck it doesn’t even show my videos on my phone as recommended.. even tho I have watched them all (and it did use to recommend them)
My videos take some time to edit (1-3 days depending on what I’m doing)
And getting like 10 views if any.. while I see people click baiting or having the red arrow getting tons of views
It just.. idk
@@mendyc158 Are you talking about this channel you're commenting from? Or another one? I'd love to take a look.
Another one
@@mendyc158 Did you want feedback or advice?
Eljay talking about my package 😮😮
How'd your package go?
@@StreamScheme Disappointing :(
gg
🥴 when Eljay likes my package
Well... I didn't say I liked it, I just asked if you thought your own package was attractive to viewers... is it?
Don't think you needed Mr Beast in the thumbnail.
A lot of the video is based on his interviews, and it hammers home the concept of accessibility.
More people know him, and it connects better.
I don’t include larger creators in thumbnails unless it feels appropriate. But I’ll take it on board.
@@StreamScheme 100% understand why you put him in the Thumbnail, just had to voice my opinion, of disagreement.
@@StreamRoom Hey, its your channel.
I'm just voicing my opinion.
What a lovely package!
I hope it looked nice!
@@StreamScheme definitely impressed!
