-save and --save flags do nothing since npm 5. You should always use --save-dev when installing @types (or any other dev dependencies) so you don't bundle and ship them to production making your app heavier without reason. Thanks Teddy for this series its looking great so far

Or just use the '-D' flag instead of "--save-dev". Use no flags or '-P' for prod deps.

Authentication (JWT) is for sure. Not sure about role based authorization. I will look into it 🤔
