How to make a Pencil Holder

  • Here's a great project for some scrap wood. Make some simple and great looking pencil holders. I made mine out of Hemlock and Purpleheart.

    Great project! I need to try the tape clamp method. The purple heart really sets that off as something to treasure.

    Looks great! I've never had to much luck with hemlock myself, but I do more turning than anything and the lathe just chews hemlock.

    this is cool, i only saw table saw not miter saw tho, anywheys i learn lil by lil i know nothing, stop block is cool, what toold was that to make purple inner bevel? What about using 2x 2x4" cut out half on each side, and glue together for a square?

      I believe you are asking about the router. Its a super handy tool. You could use 2x4's or almost anything to make these. Use what you have.

    I did a slight upgrade, I made the base slightly bigger and chamfered the edges

    I use the tape method to put together picture frames
