thank you for taking me on your journey. I drove thru Tehachipi a couple months back and wondered where the PCT was. Now, i think I could find it. Day hiker here. Thank you for the inspiration.
What a joy to wake up on my birthday and find your video waiting for me to enjoy with my morning coffee! I was sitting here with my “town face” on, enjoying every moment. Thanks Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺
Ah there is so much great food in Tehachapi. I was nobo on the PCT in 2017 and camped at the Airport park for just $5 a night. They even had brought in a portable shower there for us hikers. Next good restaurant food in Agua Dulce!
Oooooh!! That was so funny at the end with Pesky!! Very imaginative and, uh, technical(?), for a hiking video! (I don't know how to do special effects.) So funny!!
You are all so awesome, been loving watching for the last year+ . Can't get over some of your water sources! Good thing for filtration and water treatment :) Your wearing out your equipment, hoping you don't have too much more to go! Stay safe and happy trails from BC
I did this section last year 2020, during Covid-19 in April. There was water at McIver Spring then. I see on Guthook, now renamed FarOut, no water now. I know how good it feels coming down that mountainside to Highway 58. Hooray for you making it through.
Hello Ladies, I just found your channel and after watching about four of your PCT trail videos I see that your videos stand out from the other PCT videos. You show more of the trail and I can see the many beautiful areas. Thanks for sharing your travels😉
Sorry about the zipper. That happened to my daughter too. I had to send her extra tent to her. That wind is so forceful. The desert is so beautiful in the fall too. Your videos are the first time I have seen the desert in the fall. The color and the sun shining on the mountains are amazing. You ladies are doing a great job of hiking. Blessings and safe hiking.
Hey ladies! Cas and Jen, the ladies who shuttled you from Devil's Postpile to Mammoth and had beers at the Brewery. I want you to know we've been watching your videos and following your journey. It's just about all we watch in the evening. So peaceful, good info, and we just enjoy you all...you were so much fun when we met. Hope the rest of the journey goes smooth. Jen says come visit at Gulf Islands National Seashore!!!
Hi, thank you so much and thanks for helping us. We have about another month on trail. Tell Jen we will find her down there sometime. We loved it there.
Hey Guys...if you have aleatherman or something with a plyer ..just light squeeze the top of the zipper pull a little...they are not working because the glider has opened up and it is not catching the coil teeth of the zipper...hope this helps..I have fixed many a zipper with this problem...love watching
You were all in my neighborhood & I missed you! I was out off trail testing gear, so true, there were some 🥶 cold nights. Wish I knew about the tent issue, I could have loaned you one of mine to get you through. Safe travels.
I love the way the scenery has changed again, all beautiful. Mary is encouraging for people who want to get out and try backpacking. I guess you just have to do it. Of course you would have to be in shape, then why not do it? The sun looks nice during the day so we don't realize how cold it is. You just keep going. Loved the Pesky skit. You'll probably have to get a lot of new equipment before your next great adventure. Can't wait to see what that will be. Enjoy the weekend. Take care, be safe.
Welcome to the windy desert. I laughed at the mention of the weight of the water carry because I always say I'd rather carry a bear canister than the weight of all that water. Welcome to the high desert and the mountains of SoCal.
OK, I nearly cried when I saw the rear windshield all decked out for you all. Good stuff. Loved walking toward the rainbow with you all, too. I just imagined myself right there. Love those trail moments. Sounds like you’re getting the whole gamut of weather out there. Stay safe, as always, and beware the Pesky! 😵💫
You are all such an inspiration to so many! Ya’ll crack me up. I just adore that each of you are so authentically yourselves. I can’t wait until I have enough time off work to compete even one of the thru hikes, but until then, I’ll continue to do my weekends and week trips and take notes from you!
You all are amazing! I so look forward to watching your adventures. The town dance is getting better after the PCT you might consider a gig on Dancing with the Stars. Pesky is living her best life too. LOL Wander Women! WaHOO!!!
When the NoBo hikers were doing that stretch it was super windy. So some skipped so they could walk in lighter winds and heading south so not lose miles. That is a really dry section. Very heavy packs. It’s been cold overnight lately. Nor Cal is getting hit hard with a bad atmospheric River that will dump snow. Be glad you skipped south. Soon toy will be out of the elevation for a bit as you do the hardest desert section to me, the bit of the Mojave that follows the LA aqueduct. Super windy and no cover. Lots of wind snd solar energy there. Hope the tent can get repaired. Tehachapi should have cell service so you can find a place to get the faithful old hubba hub a fixed or replaced. Often the manufacturer will do the repair for free and provide a loaner. Same with the packs. Hope you can find ways to get your gear repaired and replaced. Shirts don’t come with a lifetime warranty but most good gear does
Once again I just missed you Super!Wanders Again! last year at Chiricahua/Portal/ Ft. Bowie, last week at Walker Pass where I was on a hotspring corp of discovery. I panned thru the Walker Pass log looking for familiar names from RUclips Sobo's but did not see Wander Women names , perhaps after awhile you skip the logs as you are thru hiking.. Again you are world class athletes, Say hi to John at Hiker Town. Your fan , Rich " Wood-Man" PCT class of 88..
So appreciate you ladies! It's such an inspiration for a newbie like me to watch/listen to ya'll ! I love how you edit your vidio, and i especially love the details. Like actually showing the trailhead! And real conditions. I have a stupid fear of heights, so narrow trails along shear drops are tough for me, but it actually looks like there is not too much of that. So maybe its a possibility for me.! You guys rock!!!
At 16:50 into the video look at the heart shaped cloud floating past the wind turbine. As always I love being on your adventures with you all. Stay safe and God bless.
Some mornings are just a bear but usually getting up and hitting the trail fast makes things better. Love the late fall video's, hopefully you will get a little warmer weather and make it to Campo.
What's the Name of the Song which starts at 29:43 with all the Days of the Week. I just love hearing it in your Videos. Also I love watching you Ladies. You are a big inspiration.
Always great to have a new episode of Wander Women. Hey guys, sorry you have a MSR zipper fail. Since you featured that early in todays show. Would you do a gear update? I noticed you haven’t gone off the deep end with Zpack, Hyperlite, ULA etc. and yet you would be their target market. Please share with us what your using and the reason for the selection. You guys are the perfect test bed. Thanks for sharing.
I guess it's time to replace some clothes and equipment. Backpacking is not easy. If it was, everyone would be doing it. I commend all you ladies every time I watch one of your videos. Kudo's to all of you!!! John from MI P.S. Pesky is Pesty...
Your latest section made me think of a song that Linda Ronstadt made her own: “I’ve been from Tucson to Tucumcari, Tehachapi to Tonopah” I hope I get to go to at least half the places that you have been. The Wander Women have see it all. “I been warped by the rain, driven by the snow, I’m drunk & dirty, don’t you know But I’m still willin’” Nothing gets in the way of the Wander Women!!! Dan
@@demelar Thank you! Do you have a referral aggreement with them yet? You might ask. I wouldn't have heard of them without you! Blessings to all of you for safe travels.
Yeah the Wonder Women are still motoring! How you holding up in the cold? Always look forward to your videos ! I was wondering where Pesky had sneaked off to? 🤔 Look after yourselves keep em coming 🥰
Climbing up those 3000 ft mountains in the desert with limited water, 20 degrees, and then sitting among the cow patties with failing equipment... You truly are women of grit ! So great Mary was able to jump right in and join you! Your experience, encouragement, confidence, humor, endurance, and strength create avenues for new backpackers to join in with the authentic cadence of through hiking. My spirit joins you each time I see where you are and anticipate where you are going. I was laughing so hard at the Pesky segment…. Need to add creativity to the list of above examples ! Warm hugs 🤗 from your Oregon Buddy !
worn and torn equipment is a sign of a life thoroughly LIVED.... I am going to be camping/hiking at Laguna (just outside of Julian) this week - Tuesday - Thursday. Might still be too far down to meet up with you but hit me up if so. Will send you my contact info for when you get into Sections C-A for sure. Be safe out there and, as always, thanks for taking us along and being such inspiring WaWosian examples for us!
As long as we can learn from our senior moments (freezing water bottles, freezing cloths, and water filters) in life, have a good laugh at ourselves, we are doing good.
Hi Ladies! Been following your journey - you are so inspiring!! You are heading down to our neck of the woods and we would love to be trail angels if you need a ride, water, food of course! We can help anywhere from I-10 south to the border. Also, when we hike out of Idyllwild we end the day with a meal at the brewpub. Would love to treat you to a meal there if that was of interest and in your schedule. Let me know if we (my husband Brian and I) can help! If we do not meet up, know you have cheerleaders out here watching and cheering you on as you get closer the finishing the PCT!! Whoop Whoop!! (My husband is messaging you on Insta in case that's better communication lol)
The clothes / equipment are falling apart. The bodies are holding up. Love you women!
I have a town face on after watching that one! And rainbow over the desert, Wow! Goat

They do have ULA packs, I think the Circuits, but I think of ULA as the posh light-weight packs. I have a Catalyst.
I think all three are using ULA packs.
We all have the ULA Circuit
