Thanks for that explanation. Now I understand that I ordered an apparently better Radio then the STX2 but the receiver is still crap (SLT3+ SLR300 (FHSS) of an Senton 4x4 on JennysRC). On the first run I was quite disappointed with the range of the set. Now I understand why... watch your video too late... thanks!
good info. in the 1970s.you could use futaba .and . j r. rx compatible. with either tx......36 meg . just change crystals in those days. Keith Australia
For my 3 Arrmas 6S V4 models I want to upgrade to a fast and responsive after market transmitter with low efforts to take. I can spend 200-300 bucks on that.... for bashing and blasting, no crawling and no racing. What’s your recommendation?
Very informative I probably should add their are aftermarket Receivers available that are compatible with the Sanwa MT4/MT44/M12 sold under the brands Muchmore & Ruddog I currently have a Spectrum DX5C for my non race stuff it was kinda a hard sell for me to get a Spectrum radio I remember back when they only sold modules that converted your FM Futaba or Airtronics/Sanwa radio to 2.4Ghz it was cool no more crystals no waiting for your frequency so you could practice but it was glitchy if a lot of people were using it while FM 75Mhz/27Mhz was still more reliable and had a better range especially if you were running 1/8 scale Nitro on a big track. OG stuff I still have every frequency in FM Airtronics crystals somewhere and a Futaba 3PJS setup with a Hitec synthesized radio module (they were cross compatible) and a couple Novak synthesized Receivers I never owned all the Futaba FM crystals but I have a bunch on the same frequency 🍺😂👍🏽
My stepfather gave me a Traxxas receiver #2218x. I have a Jumper T12 Pro multi-protocol transmitter that can be setup with nearly anything for a quadcopter. FRSKY, Devo, Bayang.. ECT. I heard you say it wouldn't work but I don't see a transmitter anything like mine here. Just curious because this works with all my quads and is 2.4 mhz and can have transmitter modules snapped in as well.
This is exactly why im here now dude. Im getting more into the cars and when i got into drones i went with FR sky and DJI HD im trying to find a multiprotocol car transmitter but cant find a solid answer anywhere.
Well I failed today. Bought DSM2 receivers that would not bind to my DSM transmitter. Now I have learned that it works the other way round after some research. To make sure. Will S-FHSS receiver work on a FHSS transmitter?
My question is. If I bought the dx5 can it bind to the arrma 3s line factory receivers. I'm still new to transmitter upgrading... If not are their any TX that will
Getting into rc boating and not to sure about my Rx ( I have ( 2 ) FP-R127DF ) Rx .Can I use these on my boats ? Now what Futaba radio do I need? I am 73 and on a very limited budget. I don't know what Tx that will go with my Rx . Can you help me out ?
I got baja v2. For some reason at binding, when press binding pin on transmitter and turn it ON, it going to flash, but not rapidly, but fast, about 3 times per second. After binging receiver going from rapid red flashing to solid red, but when turn Off and remove binding wire and turn it back ON, it is not staing solid red, but back to rapid red flashing. No communication with controller as result. Any ideas?
I am new to rc, if I put a spectrum reciever into my car that i upgraded to motor/esc to spectrum, an i use my dx3 transmitter that i use with my infraction? Do i need to bind each car everytime i run it? thanks, hope this isn't a dumb question...lol btw, i learned alot from you, thx so much.
Neem lookingnfor a new radio that will work with our FHSS-2 receiver collection.... we have 2 MX-V radios... looks like I will be looking for a used MT-4/MT-4s... or, retire one MX-V as backup, and use just one for a while, that is a possibility...as we also have Spektrum recievers and one transmitter, soon to he 2 most likely, either a DX5C or DX5PRO...
Hello I have a 1/18 ecx ruckus. I want to upgrade the motor and esc. I have a stock spektrum controller. What would be the best upgrades controller and receiver/transmitter would I need?
I saw your video that said the sanwa MT-S is a great transmitter for the money. The guy I run with has futaba 7PX. Do you think the MT-S is the best to try and compete for the $200ish price point?
MT-S or Futaba 4PM are both really good. Sanwa receivers are a little more expensive, so if you end up with a lot of cars it'll be a little cheaper in the long run going with Futaba.
Razor RC I thank you for your response! We race SCT on a back yard dirt track. We are racing Mojave, SCTE 10, and Tekno 410.3. I think I’m going to try the Sanwa to be different!
I’m such a Superlative pilot that 3 milliseconds is like 3 hours for me. I have the new top secret futaba black magic wand which is Fhss- 22.to get this new futaba you must be elite or sale ur sole to Trucifer .lol. But seriously very informative video 👍🏻👍🏻✌🏻
Can i ask ? Which receiver can connect all transmitter i want to buy a receiver to upgrade my wltoys 144001 to brushless without change transmitter plsssssss reply
I bought an Arrma Big Rock RTR.The radio sucks in plain English. Its very slow receiver, glitches constantly & looses signal even on new batteries .I need a left handed remote anyway.
Hi, thanks for breaking that all down. Nicely done! Ive got a mt4 which has system option for fh4t (no fh4) and fh3. My receiver has fh4 and fh3. Should i pair as fh4 or fh3? Both seem to work, but which one is best?
@@RazorRC great, thanks! That question has been bugging be for ages! I'll bind as fh4t and get maximum speeeeed! Thank you for all the great content, much appreciated
There is. Goes under 2.4 conversion kit. Seen several done. I want to do my Futaba Attack R, but with no visible mods. That's the hard part, along where to solder the wires.
I don't see how anyone could feel the difference between 3 and 5 ms. What is real world performance like? Late to the party here, anyone care to weigh in?
They need to standardize this industry ! same as EU Brussels ISO? is trying to standardize 1.5v-16v AC-DC chargers etc, huge waste of resources on society all the copper, rare metals / platics wasted...my junk drawer full of chargers Rx etc, cant use with my Latest Tx / chargers and eletronic devices past 30y... "IP requirements BS from OEM's" :) even my Spektrum DX6i has trouble talking to Spektrum SR3500 SR3250 Rx and should be defaulting to DSRM2 or some kind of ISO standard! (steering response only no Thr on any Tx channels tried / programmed ?) works on MR200 Rx etc no problems wth!?
after doing bit of inet search Spektrum now has a servo with built in Rx S6240Rx ... a step in right direction, great for IFMAR nitro racing etc, how long these type of Rx been available, new in 2016? pricy $128 but definitely going to try one :)
Well, I didn't get the answer I was hoping for, but I got the correct answer, and that's always appreciated.
Great info as always👍👍 I'm a big Futaba and Spektrum guy.
good radios! thanks for watching
Thanks for the history lesson on these three. I didn't know all that about Futaba, lol!
Thanks, your guides are so good. I'm about a year into rc cars and find a lot useful videos on your channel
Awesome, thanks!
Yes Razor, Absolutely stunning video😎📹
thanks!

flysky FS-GT3C $65 or less on Amazon etc with one Rx, and extra Rx $12 or less :)
Very informative

@@jamilsabbatt9942 I moved on to ELRS now. I still have that brand new RX.
@@jamilsabbatt9942 oh just FYI there was a Traxxas protocol listed in the receivers list after updating my transmitter.
@GEN - X - 三FPV三 How do you like the ELRS ? I fell out of the hobby a bit when it was getting popular. Tryna get back to it thanks for the reply

Yes. Around be good to go. Both spektrum products.
I still have the Original Spektrum 3 Channel with 3 Model Memory and Built in Fail Safe.
based on what you said, am I correct in saying that Spektrum is actually FASTER than even futaba now?
Killer topic!!!!!
Great job on the video and great info 😎👍

none of them can do that

appreciate it!
Can you do one on stadium truck wheels and the different offsets? The one you did about short course wheels is pure reference material.
thanks. I might do a 4wd buggy one, no plans for stadium truck in the near term, partly because I sold all my trucks!
Razor RC this would be great. Just bought a 22-x4 and have no idea what wheels I can put on it.
I bought an Arrma Big Rock RTR.The radio sucks in plain English. Its very slow receiver, glitches constantly & looses signal even on new batteries .I need a left handed remote anyway.
When you buy a transmitter does it come with the receiver?
Hi, will any rc crystal work with a spectrum receiver and transmitter
I have transmitter dx4c
Can i bind receiver dsm2 to bind on my tx dx4c ????????
Can I used Transmitter and receiver with rc airplane
Can you do a unboxing and review on the hobby wing 80 a one please
Will a flysky Noble Nb4 work with the older flysky FS-BS6 or FS-BS4 receivers?
sorry, I don't know. I don't have a noble, but might get one.
Razor RC get it and let me know before I do lol.
I have one, it is very nice and fast. You can only use receivers with the AFHDS 3 protocol. Receivers are very cheap though, like $25.
Does it matter if you cut the antenna? Will it shorten the range or fail to connect?
YES! Don't cut the antenna!

So will my dx4c dsmr work with dsmx and dsm2?
What about the Spektrum DSM Pro ?
R2106gf work with 7pxr?
can i use a flysky reciever with the austar transmitter
No, you always have to match the same brand, else they won’t work.
How about Receiver and esc? Does name brand matter?
no, any receiver can be used with any ESC
If there was only a way to upgrade my old radio again to 2.4. all of these new radios feel like cheap toys next to my old futaba Magnum senior
