Yes You Can Use PCG Biomes To Create Floating Islands

this is a faster way to do floating islands,I used to just use a landscape then hide the edges and bottom with rocks.This is more flexible.

Always better not to edit engine or plugin stuff directly. Once an update is pushed and you download it, all your changes are gone.
