Welcome to the wonderful world of Patty Griffin, Harri. So many treasures out there for you to enjoy.
It amazes me how artists like Patty Griffin so how get lost in the shuffle. Album after album she’s put out wonderful songs and so few people know it.
Absolutely love Patty, she shares her whole being with us ❤
"You also feel the soul in her voice", true words, man. Such a soulful singer. She should be huge but she's not commercial enough.
I have always loved her since Living With Ghosts. Saw her in 1998 for her Flaming Red tour. She and band burned down the house. We were all blown away ! I have seen her twice since then !
What a voice.
Patty Griffin is def one of the greatest singer-songwriters ever!
Patty has SOOO many great songs. Try "Rain", "Love Throw a Line", "Mary", "Heavenly Day" or "Let Him Fly".
Patty is incredible. Along with the other great suggestions, I'll add: Making Pies, It Don't Come Easy, Mad Mission, One Big Love
She is great. Try “Useless Desires”, “When it Don’t Come Easy” or “Florida”. She has been around for a long time.
She’s spectacular, love all her many many songs.
Her song Up to the Mountain is one of my all time favorites. Please add that one to the to-do list. It’s also known as the MLK Song.
AMEN ❤ LOVE that song and others. WHAT A SMOCKY VOICE. LITTLE OF IT REMINDS ME OF BOBBY GENTRY 😊
Making Pies just breaks my heart. Give it a listen.
I’ve seen her live about 5 times. She can do it all. She did a gospel album (downtown church) which was amazing.
Check out Up To the Mountain. It will give you chills! Several live versions out there to watch. Also, she was part of Robert Plant's project Band of Joy.
I don't know this lady but what a powerful, full bodied voice. 👏
Just amazing. Her emotion and diction
beautifully controlled. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and Frank. Beautiful.
Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
She was huge in the folk circles
Nice job!
She is so underrated it isn't even funny.
So many great songs.
"Rain", "Kite Song" "Be careful" if I had to limit is to a top 3 list.
"Kite song" lifted me through some very troubling times in my life.
Love her. Her iconic song us Rain. She's an amazing writer as well.
I remember the first time I saw her was a good 20 years ago at a festival in Rochester NY playing after World Party, a jam band and opening up for John Hiatt who was the reason I was there... I remember the audience at first paying her little mind, she just came out on stage with three guitars and this woman just tossed her head back and this voice just came out of her... just such a big voice coming from such a little lady... and within a short while she had most of audience paying attention... she was just on stage alone after a party band and had the crowd.
I remember it was a Friday and when I returned to see other acts on Sunday I first stopped at a local record shop that was having a sale on their collection of used CDs and being a collector and music junkie I always was on the look out for more music and as it happens I found her debut CD "Living With Ghosts" and the defacto title tune was the one I was knocked out by the Friday night before so I quickly grabbed it and someone else saw me do it and was jealous I grabbed the one copy available...
Since then I've bought virtually any CD she has released, she is on my list of ignore the revues and listen for myself.
By the way that ghosple CD is excellent ... she can sing with great feeling virtually anything, I highly recommend you check her back catalogue it's all good.
in the Lilith Fair Era
My favorite Patty Griffin song is "Long Ride Home" from the 2002 "1000 Kisses" album. That whole album is great.
Patti was Robert Plant’s partner for many years. I think she got him into Americana roots music.
If you watch the Heart tribute to Led Zepplin @ The Kennedy Center video, where they played "Stairway to Heaven", you can see Patty sitting behind Robert Plant, as she was his date that night.
Up TO The Mountain is a real treat. Written after MLK death.
Oh yeah...Patti Griffin...be careful when she lays down the heartbreak...
MAYBE ALL OF WHAT WERE DOING RIGHT NOW WILL SPREAD HERE
ALOT MORE.. SO THANK YOU.. ALL COMMENTS SHOULD GET THUMBS UP... THA KS HARRI😊
She writes a lot, The Chicks have recorded some of her songs, including Let Him Fly.
Harri,
I appreciate that you have done a number of Harry Chapin songs. I have two more that I think you would really like, The Rock and Sniper. (Sniper will shock the crap out of you)
I have never heard her before. She does have a beautiful sultry voice. Where I Come From is supposed to be her most popular song. It would be nice if we can hear more of her
you need to listen to sweet lorrraine, mary, and moses :) basically all of patty griffin :)
This album is consistently good throughout. Check it out -- esp. Up On The Mountain
Patti songs to react to: Let him fly, Top of the world, Heavenly day, Rain, Long ride home, Cold as it gets
ah i was trying to remember her name recently, for her song "Rain"
Strange the song of hers you're truly missing out on I first heard it on an episode of NCIS several years ago. It is it was considered Tony and ziva's song...'You Are Not Alone'.
I never heard of her but she is great.
I hope you can react to Modern Talking songs sometimes in the future. Brother Louie, Cheri Cheri Lady, etc... I'm certain you will vibe to their songs 😁🎶
She sounds wonderful! She reminds me of the earlier albums of Jewel, Fiona Apple, and Norah Jones. I have to dive into her discography. thanks!
I'm familiar with her thru The Chicks...my fave is a song call Truth No. 2...I never heard her sing before ...wow...shes great
Try the song ohio singing by patty griffith and robert plant
Robert Plant’s ex girlfriend.
