      @@CodingWithLewis seriously, lost my finance job during covid due to restructuring and I've been lost since. Your videos are concise and illustrate clear paths to success that can be emulated. I don't know how I stumbled upon them (thanks RUclips algorithm?) But I think you have a channel worthy of 7 figure subscribers. Cheers again, and know there's at least guy rooting for your success too.

    Hi Lewis pleasure to meet you. I was clueless about coding in fact I ran into coding by accident. Remember all those ads over a year ago? Google Analytics posted on RUclips constantly? Well, I have to thank Google, I owe them money. Well, I got interested in Data Analytics and eventually became interested in Data Science instead, learning SQL for databases like MySQL or PostgreSQL but the moment I touched Python, I forgot about Data Science and switched over to Web development. Since December of 2021, I've been coding with HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Basically, Python is my first language which introduced me to software development, and I never looked back.
    I love Python, it's a lovely language eventually one day I will return to my first language, I would love to master this language. But I can't, I am mastering JavaScript at the moment. During my learning I studied and played around with several languages. Some I liked and some made me want to smash my computer like C++! But the languages I had encountered and enjoyed learning where Python, JavaScript, C# and Haskell.
    One day I would love to learn Haskell because it's a pure functional language, not OOP. Python because it is so versatile and fun to write. C# because it is a robust language with beautiful syntax, reminds me a bit of JavaScript and I love the curly brackets, keeps your code well-structured and finally Kotlin because I see so many possibilities with this language. It is Googles flag ship language, it runs on the JVM and at the moment they are working on making Kotlin cross platform, the project is within the alpha stages now. My personal opinion? Kotlin will become the future for mobile development if they figure out the cross-platform issue. I am still new at programming, I think I am about 8- or 9-months programming, despite the fact I say 6. I started counting once I began my web development journey but never included the time learning python on and off during my Data Science learning.

    • @DevlogBill
      @DevlogBill 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@ju_-. I completely forgot about this video! This was more than 1 year ago. Truthfully? My personal opinion, be careful with any IT profession which isn't clearly defined. My personal opinion, Data Science has been slowly losing favor with companies. Google high in demand IT jobs. Data Science years ago was on the top 3 now you won't find it in the top 10. Most RUclipsrs, who are in favor, will fail to mention this. I will take it even a step further by saying don't take my advice. But I highly recommend before you jump into a profession which isn't clearly defined and is losing popularity despite the excuses, you'll hear that it is changing, this is a farse.
      Do your homework before jumping into this. Personally, I would recommend Data Analyst. It is a more defined role, wish you all the best.

    Instead of looking for the perfect way to learn python, just start. So many people put more effort into finding the best way to learn something which causes them to not even take any action and start coding themselves. Just take action. Thats the best way.

      What would you recommend a beginner learns first?

    • @yu-yu704
      @yu-yu704 2 года назад +1

      @@lionelkanyowa I recommend starting with C (my first course in Uni was in C), it's a low-level language that I think it's good for someone who's new to the field, because he should be learning concepts, like how is memory handled, how is memory represented, etc

    • @lionelkanyowa
      @lionelkanyowa 2 года назад

      @@yu-yu704 in some cases I would agree, but for the most part I disagree. People learn differently and perhaps learning C was beneficial for you. For example, my first programming class was in C++ and half of the class failed that class including my self, because we failed to grasp the concepts. Fast forward to learning python which was more beginner friendly, which made it easier to understand C++. Programming is about learning the logic first without being overwhelmed by the syntax of any language. Once someone understands the logic, then I would recommend them to learn lower level languages.

    • @yu-yu704
      @yu-yu704 2 года назад

      @@lionelkanyowa why would anyone start with C++, It was made as an extension of C, so it only makes sense to learn C first.
      And as I said before, it’s to learn the concepts not about learning the syntax, that’s my whole point as a beginner you should learn the concepts.

    • @lionelkanyowa
      @lionelkanyowa 2 года назад

      @@yu-yu704 Why would anyone start with C++ you ask? Well You can ask that to the majority of Universities in America that use C++ as their first programming language. I think you missed my point. Like I said, not everyone will benefit from learning C as a first language like you did. I know software engineers that started with python, ruby, JavaScript etc.. and they are doing very well in their jobs.
      The whole point is most beginners will be overwhelmed with lower languages like C and will fail to grasp concepts, yes you go into more depth with C, but for some beginners that never wrote a line of code in their lives, that may be difficult. That's why languages like python are easier and help to grasp programming concepts. If anyone has mastered python, then it's easy for them to master C.
