Thanks for visiting, spring and summer are the best seasons to visit.Easter Sunday is the busiest day of the year.The bird house was built circa 1920 , and,yes,it is a beautiful building.Inside there is a hummingbird exhibit.Please come and visit again !
I really like the idea of interconnected exhibits with those long tunnels and bridges. It looks like a great form of enrichment for the animals by giving them access to different sights from a higher vantage point, and mimicking the feel of having a much larger territory while giving them just a bit more space than their main exhibits have.
The old Children’s Zoo became a beer garden once. There’s a building that’s supposed to be a milk/dairy experience that just looks nice now

I think the penguin enclosure is big because it used to be homed to a polar bear. I know this because back then I frequently visited the Philadelphia Zoo. Great video!

I had nostalgia for the Meerkat exhibit at the Elmwood Zoo (up in nearby Norristown), but it kinda showed its age when I returned there as an adult last summer)
In the wild, hippos are known as the most dangerous animals in Africa. They look harmless when you see them at the zoo, on safari at Disney’s animal kingdom, or at Adventure Aquarium in Camden County, New Jersey, but hippos are actually more dangerous than they look.
It has been a few years since I have been to Philly Zoo, we went today and seemed dirtier than the last time I went.
Great video, are there any other animals besides the hippos and the penguins that don’t have a fence/glass? Like the lions? Thank you
My home zoo. I wanted to do another Vlog for LumiNature 2022 (I did for 2021). They got some new cattle last year and the aviary is open again so I can check that out for the first time in forever

The price of admission is way to high, I mean come on $20 for a child. It's rediculous that's not with food or drinks that would run over a hundred bucks for two adults and one child.
