Good morning Mr train man 😊 Always a pleasure watching you making things 👍🏻 I can remember catching the York Cardiff TPO at Stockport with a passenger coach attached 😊 Happy train spotting days. Just in case you don’t post another video I’d like to wish you a very happy Christmas and all the very best in 2025 Stevie 🤩
A nice slice of modeling here, I like TPO trains they are different. I have some Bachmann TPOS which I bought because of a picture I found in my "1983 Coaching Stock Recognition," books. It was a class 45 with 3 TPO vans, so I thought, "I'll model this and have an actual TPO train." Of course, Bachmann TPO vans aren't cheap. Cheers
Spent five years working on TPO and royal mail stock at Cardiff Canton. Doing refurbs . Floors were renewed, vestibule ends refurbished , bogies overhauled and full repaints. Also train prep for the 1S09 Cardiff Glasgow TPO
Finally !!! You've seen the light !!!! Lima is the way of the future, now just have to transition you into colour, from black and white and we're good to go !! 😂😂😂
Interesting line up there with the postal vans. There was very often a POS at the south end of Preston in the 70's and 80's no doubt waiting for the return working south. Peter's Spares do replacement wheel sets for Lima stock, reasonable price and good quality.
At around time point 3:00, I see you abrading the brass fret prior to removing the component parts. You don't say why you are doing that. I assume it's to create a fresh slightly rougher surface to aid solder and paint adherence ? As I do similar videos now and again, I always advise the viewer not only what but why I do certain actions. But otherwise, a great video.
NEVER use lead free solder, as you found out it is CRAP. Lead free solder was developed primarily for bulk soldering in manufacturing processes. Home projects that we would do as modellers ALWAYS use LEADED solder. I can say this with some authority as I am an experienced electronics technician
Not a chance to get any more postal vans from the mainstream manufacturers, I've been on to Bachmann for over 20 years to produce a Mk1 BFK, composite sleeper and Griddle buffet car bot to no avail.
Didn’t know that! However, I am always looking to upgrade Lima models as I like the smooth running that brass bearing cups provide. And the opportunity to have smaller couplings and be closer coupled

Think we are in a good time for cottage industry with 3D prints and some etched brads still being made!

Great info on the TPO formations. That's really useful.

What are the new buffer shanks and heads and who makes them? Thanks
Not sure? As been in the spares box for many years.
Am certain that one of the 3D printer people do them

The Tri-ang post office car is loosely based off an American smooth side post office van, possibly built for Australia.
Yes, thats what my mate Bryan just told me. So agree with that 👍

The SLC seems such an easy win for Bachmann
My God he's cutting tape with a banana... oh hang on... 😂
Wonderfull, au debut j'ai cru a un n ieme massacre d'une pauvre voiture lima mais a la fin ca donne quelque chose de tres reel.
Evemodel and Roco wheels are more appropriate for lima bogies.
Didn’t know that!

@@Wallsrail Ribu makes various Close coupling boxes for OO/HO models. I have used them before.
Alan Gibson do 00 gauge wheels on 24.5 mm long axles.
