I only recently stumbled onto Ryan’s music when I heard it on the radio out on a road trip (89.1 Goldfield, Gunfighter was the song I think). I’ve come to really appreciate his music. I appreciate artists who leave room in their stories for my stories, if that makes sense. Seems like that’s the way it was for you with this song. Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, John Prine among others have that poetic knack. It’s special.
