Netflix has Call the Midwife, which I love. It has 5 seasons, and it's about young midwives in 1950s/60s England. A lot of episodes are about acceptance of different types of people and illnesses. I think you'd like it!

    Orphan Black.
It’s about clones and then fighting the people who are trying to control them. It’s 5 seasons long and it actually came to an end so you’re not left wondering. That’s a bad description but it’s really really good . The script and cinematography is awesome . And the fact that literally all the clones are played by the same actress and it’s really impressive to see . It’s easy to tell the clones apart because they all dress and talk differently.

"A Dogs Purpose" is a very great book and movie. It tells the story of a single dogs life as he goes through different lives with different people. Just an FWI it will make you cry. It has a happy ending though. Hope your having a great day!

Once Upon A Time! Disney and other fairytales collide with the real world. Very complex characters, and best of all, a women - driven story. Also Speechless on Hulu. It's about a teenage boy with cerebral palsy. His mom is played by Minnie Driver and she's gloriously hilarious. Best of all, the actor really does have cerebral palsy! Yay representation!

Once Upon A Time is great! Basically it's what would happen if fairytale/disney characters lived in a normal life. A curse has been put on them and its down to Emma to break it, so the characters can remember their true selves. Its full of adventure and light hearted action. Lots of romance and friendship. Its so great! Xx 💜

Hannah Walters I recommend this also. Although, when they introduce the Frozen characters I started hating the show. It was so cheesy and the actors weren't that great. Once they left, I was still kinda disappointed, but I still really enjoy it. Belle, Rumplestilskin and Snow White are my favorite characters

You should watch ‘What Happened to Monday’ on Netflix! It’s a movie about a world where siblings don’t exist. You can only have one child. And a woman gives birth to 7 identical girls. And their grandpa raises them secretly. Each girl is assigned a day of the week that they are allowed to go outside. Basically they are all going undercover as one alias or person. It’s so good!

Jane the virgin on Netflix is amazing. There’s 3 seasons but the episodes are long. It’s about a Hispanic catholic virgin named Jane who gets accidentally artificially inseminated. She lives with her single mother, who had her at 16, and her grandmother. It tells stories about Janes dad coming back into her life, follows through her pregnancy and rasing a kid, love stories, crime and drama. It’s an American telenovela.

So sorry about your troubling bellyache and hope it resolves quickly. I was just watching Janeice's video for today and left her a comment that applies equally to both of you. Please check it out. Every time I see you and Harlow interacting it reminds me of a statement I read by an animal behaviorist who states something to the effect of, "are we really smart enough to definitively judge an animal's sentience or intelligence?" I do believe there is quite a lot left to discover about the true nature of a service dog team's interactions with one another.
My very best to you, Judd, Harlow, your Mom and Dad. I love your videos and look forward to them each day. I believe you when you state how your faith sustains you through these trials and physical tribulations. It's easy tp see that Grace illuminated in your life. That illustrates another purpose for your channel, notably, not proselytizing with words but silently by by the light that shines from within you that anyone who looks, can see and feel the warmth and love from it.

Black Mirror! It’s a series on Netflix that is about how technology has the potential to ruin lives, and the best part it that each episode is different so that you don’t have to watch in order. It can be kind of weird/gross at times and I don’t recommend season 1 episode one but some good ones are s1e2, s3e1, s4e1, s3e4, and s4e4

I think you might really enjoy Gilmore Girls on Netflix. It is about this woman, Lorelai, who grew up in high society Connecticut but got pregnant at 16 and left to live in a small town. Now, her daughter Rory gets accepted to a private school that will put her on her path to be an Ivy-educated journalist, but she needs money from her parents to afford the school. The show is basically about the lives of Lorelai, her mother, and daughter and is really fun and goes through their stages of life (relationships, job changes, travel). The way the dialogue is written is interesting with lots of pop-culture references. I don't understand like 80% percent of the references but that doesn't take away from the show and it is definitely a good binge to watch while recovering (7 seasons, 40-minute episodes)!! Hope your surgery/recovery goes well!

We like Heartland too - good story lines, relatable characters and gorgeous scenery! We also like Night Shift - it's about the medical personnel working the night shift at a hospital and EMTs. I'm not a big fan of the scary/gory stuff. I had surgery on Dec. 22, and I had all kinds of stuff planned to watch. Forgot to figure in that the first few days after surgery I always sleep a lot. I went back to work this past Monday, and I didn't watch any of the binge-worthy shows recommended to me! 😦

You mentioned that you like documentaries. HBO has a documentary called 'Mommy Dead & Dearest' that you might like. Description from HBO "In Mommy Dead and Dearest, provocative documentarian Erin Lee Carr (Thought Crimes: The Case of the Cannibal Cop) again explores a crime in the age of social media. Things are not always as they appear, especially in the case of Dee Dee and Gypsy Rose, and what starts out as a grisly tale of matricide morphs into a rabbit hole of deception." Enjoy! :)

I love learning, but sometimes I just need an easy going documentary. If you're looking for some happy documentaries, I definitely recommend Twinsters (A French fashion design student stumbles a video of an American creator on RUclips, but is startled that the American girl looks just like her. The two come in contact and go on a journey to find if they're truly twins separated at birth) and Advanced Style (A fun documentary that follows around quirky older women with crazy, lovely fashion senses). These two documentaries are informative in their own way but still always manage to put a smile on my face, and I believe you can find both on Netflix!

The marvellous mrs maisley on Amazon prime is amazing. It’s about a female comedian in the 60’s that goes through a divorce and learns to live on her own.
Continuum on Netflix is amazing. It’s about a female police officer from the future that goes back in time to our time. She tries to figure out what happened and how to get back. It’s also complete and doesn’t end on a cliffhanger. So it’s a good binge watch.

-Party of Five: a show from the early 90s and 80s about five siblings after the loss of their parents
    - When Calls the Heart: a hallmark tv show based in a small town in Canada during the early 1900's about a mountie and a teacher

IT Crowd is on Netflix! Its a British TV show that is four seasons long and completed. The episodes are short but each one is absolutely hilarious. There is also a special episode where the cast came back and did a movie length episode. The synopsis: There is a company where down in the dungeon basement, lives two socially awkward IT workers. A lady is hired to be their manager but she has no idea about computers. The show is mini stories about their adventures and the shenanigans they get up to.
There are only 3 main characters with perhaps 3 reoccurring supporting characters. All characters are very distinct and the story-line is light and fluffy.

Glad to hear you liked Spirited Away! It's one of my favourite movies and so I highly recommend more or less every Studio Ghibli animated movie (except perhaps for Tales from Earthsea, do stay away from that one), so here goes:
    - Kiki's Delivery Service
    - My Neighbor Totoro
    - Princess Mononoke
    - Howl's Moving Castle
    - The Secret World of Arrietty
    - From Up on Poppy Hill
    - Porco Rosso
    - Laputa: Castle In The Sky (Studio Ghibli's first movie)
    - Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind (actually before Studio Ghibli was founded, but same director etc.)
    - The Tale of Princess Kaguya (based on the oldest known surviving Japanese "epic"(?))
    - When Marnie Was There
... and there's more, but I'd start with these :)

I'd recommend the show Psych! It's not on Netflix anymore but Amazon Prime Video just added it, it's about a guy who is hyper-observant but he ends up having to lie to the police and tells them he's a psychic. He starts working for the department and goes around solving crimes in Santa Barbara with his childhood best friend (who's a pharmaceutical rep!), Gus. It's hard to explain but it's hilarious and should be easy to follow. There are eight seasons plus a musical and now a movie! Also the main love interests were actually dating for the entirety of the series which adds some great chemistry... try to give it a few episodes though, the pilot doesn't do the whole show justice.

I recommend watching a movie on Amazon called Megan Leavey.
The true life story of Megan Leavey, a young Marine corporal whose unique discipline and bond with a military combat dog saved many lives during her deployment in Iraq. Assigned to clean up the K-9 unit after a disciplinary hearing, Leavey starts to identify with Rex, a particularly aggressive dog that she trains. Over the course of their service, Megan and Rex complete more than 100 missions until an improvised explosive device injures both, putting their fates in jeopardy.

On Netflix, there is a program called Jane the Virgin. It is 4 seasons long so far but there are more episodes coming out. It is about the life of a Latina woman, who is an author. It is in the style of a telenovela. Her mom speaks Spanish sometimes but there is subtitles.the rest is in English. It is very entertaining and enjoyable.

you could watch blackfish. its a documentary on orcas in captivity. its only about 90 minutes, but i thought it was very well done. it goes back to when the orcas were captured and the first years of their lives. it also interviews people of various professions and opinions and talks about the attacks by whales, and what might have caused them.

Movie - a 1990 movie called Mr. Destiny. It’s about a character, Larry (James Belushi) who has a comfortable middle-class life -- married to his teenage sweetheart (Linda Hamilton) and in an executive position at a sporting goods firm -- it still rankles him that he struck out in the last at-bat of his high school baseball championship. When he stumbles into an unfamiliar bar on his 35th birthday, the bartender (Michael Caine) fixes Larry a special cocktail that sends him back to that pivotal moment, allowing him the life he thought he wanted.

Call the Midwife on Netflix. It is a British series set after WWII and follows the lives and trials of midwives who travel in the community delivering babies in the patient's homes. It's much more than that. There are 7 or 8 seasons.

I like wandering RUclips to see what I find. I’ve always enjoyed watching things like Supernanny and also teacher vlogs like Pocketful of Primary. I like 8 Passengers and Ellie and Jared and all the sibling vlogs. Their parents even have a vlog now: Grandpa and Grandma Griffiths. Also the J House vlog and crafting videos. With crafting ones, some are great and some are awful. Turning it off without watching much is allowed.
On tv I like Say Yes to the Dress; the Atlanta one is my favorite. American Ninja Warriors is kinda fun. Decorating shows and shows about tiny houses are great, too. As you can see I have eclectic taste. This is just a small sample of the kinds of things I watch.

Gilmore Girls is so good I’m obsessed!😍😘 7 seasons. About a single mom and her daughter. They live in a cute little small town. It is just there life it is so good. It is simple but definitely very entertaining. If you decide to watch it make sure you watch the original series first. Then afterwards watch Gilmore Girls a year in the life, which is the revival. It is such a feel good tv show it always puts me in a good mood!

Slightly for a younger audience but Teen Wolf on Amazon Prime is great. My mom and I watched it and it has a lot of twists and turns and is interesting to see how the producers go off of the original myths about werewolves and stuff. The Greastes Showman that is in theatres right now is definitely one you’ve gotta see, especially if you like musicals. It was great! Wishing you luck and a fast recovery in the weeks to come!

Another movie I like is Meet the Robinsons where a Boy genius, Lewis gives up hope of retrieving his latest invention, which was stolen by Bowler Hat Guy, then a young time-traveler named Wilbur Robinson arrives on the scene to whisk Lewis away in his time machine. The boys spend a day in the future with Wilbur's eccentric family and uncover an amazing secret at the same time.

You should watch Gilmore Girls. Google did a good job at explaining this. The first season of Gilmore Girls is a sweeping set-up of not just the show’s two main characters, coffee-loving 32-year-old inn manager Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham) and her bookworm 16-year-old daughter Rory (Alexis Bledel), but their entire town of Stars Hollow, their detailed family relationships and the show’s distinctive quick-fire humour. It is funny show. My mom watches it all the time. She got my friend, grandma, and I all watching it. Love you Jaquie💖

Because I can't fall asleep if it's silent, I often use "Moana" to fall asleep to, too (I actually got that idea from you, believe it or not, quite a few months ago), and it works like a charm (in fact, I'm watching it right now). I also like to play some of the Buddies movies (also on Netflix) to fall asleep to - they're not too loud, not too quiet, I've watched them often enough that I don't feel like I'm going to miss something if I close my eyes (if I feel like I will, then I won't fall asleep, so I don't use movies I've never seen for that), and they're the right length where I'm pretty much guaranteed to be asleep by the time they end, so I don't have to worry about having to turn another one on.

Hey Jaquie! I fell way behind on your vlogs after I was in the hospital for a bit, so I'm catching up now and I'm late to the party. I would recommend Forensic Files on Netflix if you're interested in science. It's a true crime series where they really go into the science of how the perpetrators were caught (DNA, fingerprints, etc.). Each episode is separate from the next, if that makes sense, so you don't have to follow who is who or anything, because the episodes don't follow each other or have to be watched in any specific sequence!

I don't watch much TV, just never been a big TV/movie watcher, but I see someone recommended "Call the Midwife" which I LOVE. All about nurses who serve as midwives in a poor part of London post-WW2, and they live at the fictional Nonnatus House, which is a nunnery. Such awesome characters and fascinating storylines...taught me much. (I read the books too.) Aside from that on STARZ is "Outlander," and it's a time-travel series where a nurse who worked through WW2 and is finally on her honeymoon in Scotland falls through to a previous century and has to deal with the beliefs, customs and characters of that era...imaginative and gorgeously shot on location. Hope your pain continues to improve.

(I think the reason I don't watch much TV is that the series I like and really get into, like "Aquarius," impeccably acted, get cancelled! By the way you might want to check out "Downton Abbey" too. Brooklyn Nine Nine is honestly one of my favourite Shows right now. It's basically about a police precinct in Brooklyn, but it's a comedy. Super funny and light hearted and easy to follow. Thats currently in its 5th season.
Modern Family is also quite funny and in its 9th season.

Longmire, which is based in Wyoming and is very similar to Walker, Texas Ranger if you’re into the shows about sherries/cops out in the country; it was on for 6 seasons. And I also like Party of Five, it follows a family of five children ranging in age from an infant to about 25 years old and it is about them surviving and overcoming obstacles as a family after their parents pass away in a car accident.

Hi Jaquie! So glad your pain is lessening a bit now. Congrats on the class you are taking!
You said you enjoy documentaries, so I’ve got something like that but a million times better than a dry documentary!
I recommend checking out SafariLive! here on RUclips. It’s as close to being on a real safari in Africa and in many ways.. it’s even better, as you get to know all the animals personally. It is LIVE… happening right at the time you’re watching which is just amazing.
Warning.. you will risk becoming addicted to this if you watch for awhile. And if you love elephants (and I know you do!), you will see them in a totally new way… in the wild being what they truly are. Spending time watching them interact with each other and seeing babies play in water is beyond words.
I’ve learned so much that is not in books. Because you get to spend lots of time with the animals and following them each day, you see things that people physically there on safari may not get to see.
Cheetahs racing after their dinner (so beautiful, it will take your breath away!), tiny lion cubs, Africa's beautiful painted dogs (Judd would love these), and my favorite… the magnificent and stunning leopards. They have stolen my heart watching their day to day lives… the happy and the sad.
The safari guides are very knowledgable and entertaining (not your typical guides for sure!), and the safari itself is interactive. If you have questions or comments, you can send them in via RUclips chat. You also learn about the habitat there and all the smaller species as well as the leopards, lions, cheetah, hippos, elephants, rhino, etc.
They broadcast live twice a day from the Masai Mara in Kenya and from the Sabi Sands in the Krugar National Park in South Africa. They broadcast all over the world, so times vary greatly depending on where one lives in the world. The times for where you live in Florida would be:
    Tampa, FL times:
10:00 pm to 1:00 am - Sunrise Safari (in S. Africa)
7:30 am to 11:30 am - Sunset Safari (in S. Africa)
Hope you get a chance to check it out. It’s also great for those times when the pain wakes you up and you can’t sleep! {{{ Big Hugs! }}} ~ Lynn

A really short and easy show to watch on Netflix is The Good Place! There's only 1 season and the episodes are only 20 minutes. The main actor is Kristen Bell, if you like her you'll love it. It's basically a comedy on going to "Heaven" or "The Good Place." It's really easy to watch, especially while recovering from surgery!!
