@katfrancis If you drive; have you ever moved to the other lane and you didn't see that other car because its next to you but a little bit in the back of you? The blind spot applies here too. (:
How is testing the olfactory nerve (CN-I) not useful? To say there is no clinically useful information is inaccurate. CN-I testing has shown to yield clinically relevant information in several cases in the data, and allow for a differential diagnosis to be made.
As someone who has been prescribed glasses, but chooses not to wear them because it bothers me to have anything on my face, I can tell you that bad eye sight is not a myth, if I put the glasses I am prescribed on, things in the distance go from being slightly blurry to extremely detailed. Kind of like going from standard definition to Hi-def TV.
beautifull patient... I did a full neurrological examination on an ischemic stroke patient 1 month ago... it took me 15 mins in history and almost 20 mins in the physical examination... it's easy and interesting..
I can't believe people there are people making comments about the patient's physical attractiveness. Absolutely not on.If you can't maintain a professional objective then at least keep it to yourselves. Pathetic. Good video. Should really get pt to protrude tongue.XII LMN tongue deviates to side of lesion.Bilat UMN e.g pseudobulbar palsy, spastic, slow moving tongue with dysarthria.(as you know I'm sure)
this is a very good endevour dr. but i would like to pinpoint the errors dr. has made while performing the procedure. 1.eyes will be closed while testing for 5th nv. 2.for test of 8th nerve, the tuning fork is to be placed on body of mastoid, not on the tip as shown here. 3.absolute bone conduction test ,an integral part of testing 8th nerve, not done at all! 4.to see palatal movement ,you must use a tongue spatula to depress tongue . please trectify these. thanks for a nice demonstration.
Maybe change the the sequence of number upon testing the 2 CN II, otherwise you would be testing short memory/attention instead of the cranial nerves integrity
The basis of British medicine is that the history received from the patient and an examination will reveal a diagnosis the majority of the time. Of course, any imaging technique may also reveal it, but it's costly and time-consuming. Obviously, this wasn't your point. You just wanted to bash the UK.
i put in my comment patients 'accept eyesight has failed and wear glasses'. You said i 'accept my eyesight has failed and i wear glasses.' No difference
Note the classic Australian English he's speaking, where every sentence sounds like a question.
That's the first thing I thought when I heard him speak a few sentences. Always go up. Why must they go up?!
Very confusing... trying to defer between question and statement lol.
Merlins Robe I didn't notice it because I'm Australian hahs
If everything you say can be construed as a question, then you cannot be held accountable for what you said.
Im Australian and I cant stand this shit.
I want to see the outtakes, she is always one step ahead of him like its the 7th take...
lmao, exactly.
Scott Ballard I'm guessing she is just a student who needs to know these things too.
Very thorough examination, excellent revision aid. Thanks for this!
Thanks so much for this video. Very clear and just what I need as easy revision pre-finals!
Thanks!
It would be pretty cool if you answered to this comment 7 years later
This is what I'm studying off of for my next cranial nerve exam roleplay!
Please do more touch tests than they do in real life, and fewer vision tests. ASMR junkies love touch above all.
Holy shit, didn't expect to see you here haha.
@@walkingthevalley How the hell do you test touch through video?
This is a great video when looking at the hands on approach....thanks
Me too. I think it's the feeling that you are hearing someone talk who knows a lot. It makes me feel very safe.
Thanks for this video. I have a cranial examination to give for a class and this was very helpful.
Thanks. Extremely useful. Especially as its all done in ten mins perfect for osces!
Got my mock osce tomorrow! So thank you for the quick review!!

It makes me feel calm too and relaxes me. Why??
He completely left out the first one. What if she bumped her head in the snow last winter?

It's called asmr! Look it up. You are definitely not alone.
1000th subscriber lmao
Very good
thanke u very much
pupil dilation and constriction with the penlight is actually the oculomotor III nerve
+Cam Warren It's CN II in & CN III out, so it assesses both
this is gonna be big
YES. YES. YES. YES.
Thank you
thank u sir
Are they Australian?
I've fallen in love with the patient...
i think he forgot to instruct the patient to take off her glasses...

the patient is pretty :)
In Vietnam this method is very good chữa song thị

Девушка понравилась. Желаем отличных лечении.🤔😆😃👍.
way to make an instructional video, and then right away skip a bunch of nerve tests because they aren't usually done...
British and Australian accents sound so similar?
Now I need to test the jaw jerk...open your mouth...goooood
what ?!? a doctor without a pen!
I just like to watch these videos to read the funny comments that have nothing to do with what he is even talking about. lol
Shocked, this doctor forked his patient at 7.50. In the uk you would instantly be suspended for trying to fork your patient.
This woman is beautiful!!
great vid but agree eyes should be closed during trigeminal testing.
thAnx
Yeah, me too. I think it's caused by the monotone voice and the videos atmosphere. Same effect with painting-videos sometimes. Check out bob ross. :D
I LOVE WINDSOR UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF MEDICINE!
Where's the bulldog?
This wise man looks like Dmitry Medvedev, Russia's prime minister.
@JoeMonsterxx25 shaving il have to try that one but yeah these videos at night make u sleep like a baby lol
australian?
damn, that woman is beauty as hell
@IronCrossProduction i do the same thing
Seriously. I hate how people just assume. He could be Australian for all we know.
5 People failed the cranial nerve examination :/
British medicine is as relevant as their country. Used to lead the way, but now all you have is a sick feeling that the best is behind ya
Very Australian indeed... mayte...
upwards inflexions at the end of sentences are annoYING!
2:26 unprepared novice - didnt even bring his pen for the examination.
@IronCrossProduction same here lol
"on the fact that shes attractive"
that's not how opinions work, dave.
Very helpful im studying
this girl is a med student for sure..
@npadul30 Wrong! :P
i put in my comment patients 'accept eyesight has failed and wear glasses'. You said i 'accept my eyesight has failed and i wear glasses.' No difference
