Kids get frightened by the simplest things sometimes
True, when I was like 4 I used to be terrified of going through a car wash lol
All I remember from my early childhood and being non-verbal or possibly not very talkative due to my autism at the time way before learning how to control it and other things, I remember being at a Chuck e Cheese and I saw someone in a costume of Chuck E. Cheese I was horrified, I don't think I cried but I hid behind my mom. It's oddly one of the VERY few thing's I remember from my childhood.
@@neonthefox3550 i was frightened by the machine of bouncy castles because it was quite loud until i was like 6.
I had a huge fear of the toilet flushing when I was little and i had to cover my ears before I flushed lmao
And sometimes the weirdest ones. I could think of a bunch of reasons why that kid started crying, from "frightened the costume" to "suddenly facing the realization that the big doggie is just a guy in a costume".
Kids will literally cry over eating a treat too fast, I doubt the furry is the issue.

Its funny that libsoftiktok basically called themselves a child
Mentally they are one. Them and anyone else in the comments of that tweet that said they too are scared of furries. Fear is an instinctual reaction to the strange and unusual. Being an adult is pushing past it. Being a child is to be consumed by it.
Have you seen Taylor Lorenz's interview with her (Chaya Raichik)? She behaves and talks like a high schooler!
LMAO
That's funny, because when I was around that child's age, I cried and screamed my lungs out because I realized I was SITTING ON GRASS

Existing in retail literally tells me that children burst into tears over almost anything. That is just normal life.
Now let me share the exact opposite. It was at the end of a parade. I was hot and tired. Sought a place to use as a headless safe zone for a bit while waiting for friends to finish the parade. This 'expectedly vacant' indoor mall should have been perfect. I hear "Hola!" and have no chance of escape as this place turned out to be the toddler storage facility for parade goers. Terror is getting caught in the only bathroom, watching this flimsy door shaking and flexing as the entire horde of children are trying to beat it down.
During my first ever furry meet I walked face-first into a life-size, very busty pony, when I walked around a corner.
That was my first time actually touching a suiter, and it scared the crap out of me for a second, just because of how unexpected it was.

RW furries genuinely believe they'll survive in a fascist dystopia.
Right wing people aren't known for even having common sense.
To be quite honest, that kid probably freaked for the fact it was different, not because it's a furry. My niece was terrified for years of Halloween, not because the masks are scary, but because she had (still kinda does have) this thing where if she can't see your face, she will freak, it doesn't matter what you're wearing, full costume, just a plain, non scary mask, she would completely freak out simply because she doesn't see your face. This kid could be the same, but that twitter post was trying to vilify them
Interesting formatting choices at the start of this video...
(And eventually hopefully I can interact with you on Twitch and VR Chat, to be a good natured fan) :)
Me too
For all we know the kid could've been crying because he wanted the gloves and didn't get to have them, or because the fursuiter was ignoring him
Above all, what if the child was just crying because it wanted one of those yogurts and that furry just happened to be in the right place at the wrong time? Because how could someone have been able to record that scene so well by chance? There must have been a reason to record it beforehand or it must have been agreed upon somehow. Or do you just film some shop with some random customers?
I once saw a furry in fursuit on a bus coming from the furcon that was in the city that week.
And the kids on the bus were cheering the furry on.
This happened in germany btw, where lgbtq, furry, etc are a lot more accepted by society
I'm just wondering why the POV guy was filming the kids in the first place
I was as volunteer doing face paints For children once and one small girl screamed that she don't want to get face paint because she's scared of "that uncle". I guess I should Be banned from appearing in public now.
this video title fits the springlock minigame too well.
"INNOCENT person in mascot costume gets HARRASED by crying children!"
Also this is a public place. WHERE ARE THEIR SHOES OR THEIR PARENTS HELLO?
This is just so stupid, kids will start crying over literally anything. It's just a thinly-veiled excuse for fear-mongering.
Thats like getting mad at a dog for being scared of fireworks. U cant blame the fireworks for being loud 😭
Libs of tiktok hops on the trans=furry comparison. So they put 'furry' in quotes, like they would call a trans girl a 'girl'.
I'm literally saw this crap on Facebook yesterday the comments really pissed me off
Furry: "damn, this kind doesn't like me, better leave"
Twitter: "WHY ARE FURRIES LIKE THIS"
The thing is... it's a kid! It doesn't know any better, so why are people acting like it's such a big deal...? It's not like it's an adult with proper knowledge, right...? This is idiotic.
There’s an alien themed restaurant in my town. I was terrified of the old mascot because it was genuinely creepy with the realistic hands and scary stare. I would hide under the table until we left 🥲
Nowadays when I go they changed the character to be much cuter (and somehow smellier) but I just give them a high five and roll my eyes and smile at how they wanna interact with me.
When I was little, I had a similar situation to the kid in the video. I saw fursuiters in a pride parade and was terrified of them. Now I'm making the same type of cosplay that scared me as a child.
(The edit on this comment wasnt changing what i said, just correcting a spelling error)
You either die afraid of fursuits or live long enough to become the fursuiter!
my sister cried when she saw a black person for the first time, therefore they should stay in their homes so the kids dont get scared 🙄

What warms the heart is the amount of backlash this idiocy received. We arent afraid and we push back
The furry did nothing wrong. All he did was walk past. It looked like he was either at a con or going out. This was way over blown by the libs of tic tok.
Wearing a large fur suit in public does strike lots of older people as attention seeking and public disorder. A kid crying gives them a pass to say how they really feel.
Many people think Furry is just a purely s*xual thing that should be far away from children. They think the same about gay people. Very tragic and stupid mindset. To be fair, many older adults are just completely ignorant about the fandom.
It’s actually funny, the whole reason why people hate furries is historically because of how intertwined the furry community is with the LGBTQ community, and how sex positive both groups are.
Furry hate usually stems from homophobia.
thats because old people who didnt actually serve in a war or contributed nun to society shouldnt have their opinions taken seriously
now, if it was THE crying child, that would make this video a whole lot different...
Fellow fnaf brainroot victim, yo
I saw videos where little kids were scared of their own shadow. Let's cancel shadows!
Saw this on ig, the comments were all like "how dare this furry exist"

oh my god this would be a perfect title for a fnaf in a nutshell video 😭
can you believe it, kids do kid things and the other person gets shamed for it
Kids tend to get freaked out by mascots. Its such a thing that there are like 27 games based on the idea of this mascot toy thing is evil and we need to run from it. I remember in the 90s the animatronic stage room at chuckie cheese almost always stayed empty cause it was a sure fire way to make every child there either want to leave or start crying or both.
I saw this and my mind just went, it's a child crying for no reason. Deal with your kid.
Bro... I was so scared of one of my plushies as a kid to the point were the plushy ended up in the basement. 😂
How are ppl starting drama about something this.
im a furry with a fear of mascots, i can only socialize with other furries online or in a fursuit, idk why :( and i dont care if someone fursuits publicly, i just dont have to socialize if i dont want to lol, although adults and young kids are 2 diffrent things just wanted to make my stance on this.
i remember my cousins child crying cause they saw their dad holding a cucumber... kids just do that sometimes
I've had death threats against me in the town I live in for being a furry.
My sister has always been afraid of mascots (and by extension fursuits), but she has the sense to understand that it's just a personal aversion on her part. Granted she's 30 now, but still...
bro a kid started crying during Halloween because of my plague doctor costume. I didn't see any people calling me a pedo 😭
No body called them one either
@@AI_is_a_tool Ok, fine. So people didn't say I should never show my face out in public again. That better?
_"Nobody called them one"_
Libs of TikTok *frequently* peddles the rhetoric that LGBTQIA persons are gr00ming and propagandising children.
Honestly I was equally scared of six flags animal mascots when I was like 8 as this kid was at a furry in public, literally normal kid behavior
the reverse happened to me tbh, i wore my synth head to uni from home cause i was testing its wearability and ive had many peeps come over and ask for a photo. I was pretty happy and a bit of a confidence boost.
I've seen kids cry over a moth on a window, that's just what kids do 😂
I'd say this is just an last attempt for those who don't like furries to keep it the way it has been. It's only in the last few years that the furry community has gotten way more accepted in the eyes of the public, whereas previously it's either been something unknown or the only point of refrence was that old tv show where furries were potraited to be something sexual. I remember back in 2015/2016 that it was a completely other view on furries to what it is today
I was terrified of the Easter Bunny as a kid.

@@I-agree-with-you-but
somthing many seem to forget.

Honestly I understand why the kid got scared, but tryna cancel the furry is insane. I once scared a kid in my fursuit so I took it off near the kid and told them it not a wolf, just a human, it was probably because it was a realistic fursuit and had those scary eyes.
My parents have friends who also have kids, and I fursuit around them. One of the kids are very scared, but that’s normal, because they don’t know what it was and that was just the kid’s personality. They are normally scared of a lot of things that they don’t know.
6:56 that actually happened to me as a kid i saw santa at toys r us and i was terrified of him
Wait who was recording the kids? Cuz if it was a random person who then decided to post that online… that’s a little weird. Also why were they already recording?
might as well cancel clowns too since a bunch of kids are terrified of 'em.
Story of my own.
I myself am a furry. Have been for the longest time. I mostly stay away from any and all controversial stuff with furries because they are honestly upsetting and I always make sure to let people know there are good furries. At the end of the day there is bad and good side to any community.
I personally just do drawing but somewhere around middle school I wanted to make a fursuit of my own so I went out of my way to make my Dutch angle dragon oc Pumpkin for halloween because it was just a perfect time to wear it. It turned out better then I thought with the help of my grandparents and I went out. A lot of people loved it until I came across this one family with a baby. They were probably a couple of months or maybe a year old, not really sure. The moment that baby saw me they just started to bawl their eyes out. The family wasn't really upset and was quick to try to reassure the baby that everything was alright as I walked away feeling kind of bad. No matter what children will be frighten by things they are not use to, even as adults, we humans are just naturally disturbed or even frighten by the unknown. It's just a natural reaction, child or not. So for people to be blaming this person for simply just existing is kind of insane.
Just a little side note, I to was once afraid of mascots. It's just something kids need to learn to get over as they get older.

This whole thing was stupid.
When I was a little kid I was scared of the yellow moose on Nick Jr. I am completely fine and can confirm that the moose has done zero damage to me. So why are these people making a big deal out of a furry just existing?
3:07 I'll never forget the time I was 4-5 years old, and I had saw fursuiters for the first time. It was at a supermarket, I think there was 1-3 of them- I don't entirely remember the interaction, I think one waved at me, I don't remember if I had partially hid behind my mom in fear, or just stared in confusion. As a kid I didn't really like being near mascots in-person, and I blame my reaction on that (luckily I didn't act like the kids in the video- not blaming them for anything, just glad that I didn't act in the same way).
Either way, I had started to take an interest in the community about 9-10 years later when I got reminded of them again, and ever since then I suppose I've just been spectating from afar, every once in a while writing a comment or message, like this one. Within those 9-10 years I hadn't thought about the interaction, so hopefully the kids, if they truly did not enjoy seeing them, will do the same, and if they ever meet furries in the future that this memory and fear will not taint their opinion of them, despite the furry simply only existing, and doing what was best to not escalate the situation.
