some people think you cant take a weekly 24 on a ferry but you can. any time used getting on or off the ferry must be added to the 24 or 11 though far as i am aware
Ned sir, quick one.. Im hell for forgetting to put it on ferry mode. Could I just do this when I arrive at the port and park in lane or must I wait till they wave me on and I've queue of men behind me waiting to get on the boat?
Hi, did something change with the new type of tachographs? I have done this before where your video taught me how to use it, but now with a new truck and tachograph I did it the same way, but it didn't register my full daily rest, and is now telling me to do daily rest immediately.
You should have the option, when you arrive at the ferry,to end current work period, also when you finally gets on the ferry to do the same,it’s all bullshit .
@ADRTrainingIreland they didn't know, however the manual for the VDO DTCO 4.0 states that; 'Ferry/train: Entering start/end Enter the time of the vehicle spent on a ferry or a train as soon as you have taken your position for shipping. IMPORTANT According to Regulation (EU)2016/799, Annex I C, as amended, recording Ferry/train must be started before the vehicle's engine is switched off on the ferry/train." So am i understanding it correctly that ferry mode is only enabled once you are parked on board the ferry?

Brilliant videos. When you move on to a ferry do you take it out of ferry mode as well as selecting rest mode, for the crossing? Andd then re select ferry mode getting off?
Hey mate would you be able to do a video of you selecting ferry mode getting on and off. I'm doing something wrong as I keep getting infringements. I'm selecting ferry mode to get on which says out. Then I'm driving on and selecting break. Then getting off its still in out mode I drive off park up and select the mode to put it back in. Is this correct or should I Then be selecting ferry mode again and out before I'm leaving the ferry again.
You put it on ferry as you board the ferry only, then you put it on rest ect. As you are leaving the ferry you put the Tachograph on ferry again if necessary, once of the ferry you choose the correct mode
Thank you so much, finally someone was able to explain in human language!
excellent simply explained ,sharing this with my colleagues ,thank you for great vid
This video couldn’t be any better 👏👏

Amazing thank you
what if the ferry time is less than 7hours, say 2 hours for example would that count towards daily rest.

Maybe you made a mistake? Ask your transport manager

Each country has there own laws about when and at what time you can drive larger vehicles. You will have to investigate the areas you are going g to

If you do jot have a Ferry Mode it will lore than likely default to Dtiving anytime the vehicle moves

Your selecting out of scope. Not ferry mode.
You have to put the tacho on rest BEFORE selecting ferry mode. This is usually where someone goes wrong
Also if I use ferry mode do I have to take 11 hrs daily rest or can I reduce down to 9 hrs daily rest.
You can only take 11 hours with ferry mode
You didn’t say when to put on ferry you keep repeating about putting it on break
