If you're playing through regular games and romhacks and not other players, you won't be using stat moves or defensive types nearly as much. Steel was invented as the better version of Rock type, and when you pair it with Dragon or Fairy, you have the best Competitive types in the game. Steel and Dark basically wete made to combat how dominating Normal and Psychic were in Gen 1. Fairy came about to combat how dominating dragons got in gen 5 competitive. Competitive wise the ranking would go something like (as of gen 8/9). S - Fairy, Steel, Water A - Dragon, Ghost B - Dark, Fire, Fighting C - Electric, Grass, Flying D - Normal, Poison, Psychic, Ice F - Rock, Bug I think for playthroughs, your list isn't bad at all, Electric is high due to only having 1 super effective weakness. I think you're overlooking the "glass cannon" appeal of ice types, ice is meant to hit a ton of shit while also being vulnerable to a lot. Try running fast ice types with high spatk. Or, mamoswine's duel typing works great for a slow ice type.
Water and Fire have been my favorites since forever. I like Ghost and Steel, but hardly ever use them. And bug is basically useless, so I never use them. 😅 Great video!
