Boy, all your advice is spot on in my experience. Take it from someone who has failed a number of times at organizing. Bottom line is you have to be honest with what works best for you and not follow what someone else does. And you MUST declutter. And buying the containers before measuring is another expensive mistake. By the way…..shocked you are only 5 ft 1 in! Never thought about you height but I would have guessed you were at least 5 ft 5 in.
Kay, I really enjoyed your HQ virtual conference session. One thing that's really helping me lately is when I'm shopping for something, if I can't mentally picture a home for it, it stays in the store.
I am so motivated now to de clutter my bedroom closet and organize! It’s been a few years and the space is just not working for me anymore. Great videos!
For decanting, I add expiration dates to a strip of scotch tape using a Sharpie on back/bottom of container, then replace when I put new stuff in. You can also use just the Sharpie on smooth plastic without tape since you can take it off with an alcohol wipe.
I loved this. You made me laugh so hard when you talk about people buying organizational containers and finding them still in the bag from 3 months ago. That would be me.
My advice: Measure 6 times. make sure you're measuring from the correct points. Have a backup plan for the item, so it has multiple uses in case Use A doesn't work out. I never could get on board with the upright folding method. I find it messy looking and difficult to upkeep, clothes are flimsy and fall over. I do roll my knits though and store them horizontally in a drawer. I *try* to keep my wardrobe small enough and rotated seasonally so things get well worn 😊
Just a suggestion for a corner upper cabinet: I store my glassware, coffee mugs, wine glasses, and water bottles there. I find that less frequently used glassware will naturally make its way to the back of the cabinet, and since a glass is a glass, I'm really not finding myself digging in the very back for "just the right one" -- I've absolutely loved utilizing this space this way.
Your presentation at the virtual conference was great, but why were those people letting those children run wild around those candles?? So dangerous! 😂🤣
I love this video! We are about to renovate and need to do so much decluttering BEFORE organizing! Also, the balustrade behind you looks like someone is peering around a corner.😳
Yeah this year i have work on decluttering our home a lot and found deep shelves where the back is really hard to access REALLY need a deep enough basket that can be sort of used like a drawer. Else the shelves becomes basically a black hole. I have pulled A TON old and ridiculous items noone would dare to use these days and was completely forgotten out of them... like ridiculously heavy and gummy "waterproof" clothing etc ..............
I think I included it in a vlog once a couple years ago but not a lot of people want to see that stuff over here so I’ve moved all my lifestyle content to my vlog channel! youtube.com/@kaypattersonvlogs?si=_oRJycTcI_74Mcb2
@@TheOrganizedSoprano Just checking. I watched another video about your experience with having a Myomectomy and was curious to know your experience with general anesthesia. I asked in one of the comments on that video but realized that it was 2 years ago. I am scheduled for a hysterectomy in a few months and found your video helpful. Tks
Since I have changed my drawers to folding my clothes in an upright position I am wearing more of my clothes, that often went un-noticed.

Great idea, thank you!

I'm so glad you've got to 100K! 😊

I keep chopsticks in a jar - pointy ends protected in jar, handle end out in the air. Easy to grab. Pretty.
Loved this! Need this series so badly! I need to find an accountability buddy for organizing (and other stuff)

Thanks for another great video and helpful information! 🤗
I also put things in difficult to get to spaces that I “shouldn’t” be using. I.E. snack foods when I’m dieting
#4 💯: I have to change the organizing style constantly especially since I live in a small place. 💯 have a plan before buying a product.

I completely understand about retail. I worked for Walmart for 3 years doing inventory.

Same. Good space utilization.😊
I’ll give this some thought - I have two corners in my kitchen with both upper and lower cabinets!
These were great practical tips
Found you at the virtual HQ and love your method and sweet way of presenting your advice and method.
Thanks and welcome ❤️
Great video! Thanks, Kay 😍
Great tips! And ur hair is 🔥🔥
Fantastic video Kay!
I have experimented with a few organization systems. I found one that works for me specifically.
Your presentation at the virtual conference was great, but why were those people letting those children run wild around those candles?? So dangerous! 😂🤣

As a person with ADHD, I absolutely neeeeed at least 5 scissors and 5 phone chargers 🤣
This may not be the correct question but how do you do your hair? Is there a video? ❤❤❤

I originally skipped your video since I didn’t see you on the cover
Where is clover?
