- A Max and Dave Fleischer "Bouncing Ball" cartoon made for the Oldsmobile division of General Motors as an advertisement that ran in theatres. Fans of vintage 78 RPM records (pre-1930s) will recognize the voice of pioneer recording artist Billy Murray doing the voice of the little guy and the narration before the sing-a-long.

Right? Hes the bees knees
GENIUS ! The Fleischer Brothers, Max and Dave, were first introduced to me while I was living in New York City (1980 something)
My boyfriend Arty brought me to the "THALIA" on upper west side. On Tuesdays they had "Cartoozdays" ,a piano player on the stage accompanying Max & Dave Fleischer Amazing

I was most likely in the same audience with you, Debra! I never missed a Cartoozday, and there was absolutely nothing like hearing an entire audience saying "A runabout! I'll steal it! NO ONE WILL EVER KNOW!" I remember the sound of a mass CRINGE with the candy cane scene on this one - and of course we all sang along with the Bouncing Ball.
@@Memo2Self is the THALIA Still there? The 2 theatres in my home town, Marquette Michigan, are just a memory now, since it's much easier to demolish than preserve. Thank God for Memories, can't demolish them!
@@debrasimms6821 Not as we knew it, Debra - but it became the Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theatre, now a part of Symphony Space, and according to Street View on Google Maps (251 W.95th, if you want to see for yourself), it's used for a variety of intimate events, including movies (no different double-features everyday, alas). I used to live a block away, but haven't been there for 17 years or so. Thanks for the memory - and the near-instantaneous response!
AMAZEBALLS!!!
The,"horseless carriage,"sure has come a long way!
Olds Motor Works before the company became part of General Motors. Sadly, the Oldsmobile brand disappeared in 2001
Olds was part of GM in 1931 when this film was made. General Motors is on the Main Title.
"Oh my operation"??
