  • This is a short and easy tutorial on how to refuel the Viper in DCS. The Viper is not the easiest aircraft to refuel, but its not the hardest either. This short tutorial might be of help to finally master the refueling part.
NOTE: One important tip. Put in the adjustments before they are needed! It’s like flying a helicopter in a sim. You need to be on top of the desired or undesired movement before you need to correct them. Small and constant adjustment.
    Happy training!
    My spec is as follows
    - 11th Gen Intel (R) i9-11900K @ 3.50Ghz
    - 128 GB Ram
    - GeForce RTX 3070 FTW3 Ultra Gaming 8GB
    - HP reverb g2 VR headset

Small adjustments is quite an exaggeration. I have been flying the F16 for about 6 months now. Tanking is tremendously difficult. I could seem to make any progress. I would just be all over the place back there.
Then I downloaded keeping the bare at bay. The 1st mission requires you to fly in a tight formation to progress to the next mission. I quickly realized this is a skill one must master before Tanking. Because most of the time the control input needed is flexing the muscles in 1 finger.
This is where every tutorial fails in my opinion. You seem to have gotten use to making what's easy to call micro adjustments so you call them constant small corrections. But in reality the movement on the stick is not noticeable.

Tjena!

In oculus set the 72Mhz, and turn the resolution to the right to Max, then in DCS the PD to 1.0 as default, thats it, you should be able to read the whole cockpit. I use quest 2, but i have i9-13900k with Rtx 4090, so i have everyrhing on Max Settings and it looks very nice. With your 3070 you are maybe limited, so reduce msaa or other settings.

This is no such thing as “Tanking”, its called refueling! …. I must blame my some what school English mixed with some good old Swedish. But I hope you understand the concept.
