The Outside Context Problem is indeed very interesting.
"Technology that is advanced enough is indistinguishable from Magic."
I mean, right now, we have funny rock tablets that do hundreds of calculations per second to give us funny images.
If that doesn't show that smartphones are secretly rune magic, i don't know what will.
@@davisdf3064 and it beams information telepathically to a floating saucer in outerspace which beams it back to other funny tablets in mere seconds
Is that avaritia
it is not areally about magic, for instance take someone from the middle ages and give him a computer but you tell him nothing about what it is or how it works, in this situation he will never understand what it is, he wont turn it on not only because he dont know how but because he dont know even the concept of turning on something to use it, he wont use word because he dont realise it is even a thing.
It also works the other way around, as per Doctor Who: "Sufficiently advanced magick is indistinguishable from technology."
I was still in aw of the really well done edit of Tyler glitching at 14:10 and then I was hit with the fake credits with “smelliest guys” and that sent me
sent you to where? Brazil?

Couldn't help but think of CinemaSins because of that lmfao.
I love Tyler's editors
@@sargentgullible2794 Thankfully Tyler doesn't think he's god's gift to man.
@@WowCreativeUsername And he's more likely to be than Jeremy
Some context for the intro sequence:
The “ancient writer” Iain Banks lived from 1954-2013. The particular book being referenced was the science fiction title *Excession* published in 1996 as part of the *Culture* series.
In general they refer to the original humans as "the ancients" in this game to differentiate them from the current mechanical humans.
13:00 When you think that you should think outside the box, but in fact you are already outside the box, and you have to start thinking inside the box.
...Until you realize that there is no box.
Quick lore for Tyler: We were already told that Miranda is somebody created outside of the New Jerusalem that's why other characters are so curious about her. She wasn't one of the disciples.
I gotta say, the cutaway gag to the fake credits scene with the bad ending music from Outer Wilds is such a good gag
The Outer Wilds music just completely threw me out of the video
Talos Principle 2 has quickly become one of my favourite games to watch Tyler play. What a pretty game.
Tyler you can zoom with middle mouse button! may help with the meta puzzles
Wish I knew that before playing through TTP2 😅
I noticed they made the run back to the ship just long enough to hear all the dialogue play out without having to just stand around and wait for it to finish. That's good game design in my opinion.

Offical Aliensrock Video Game Door Review™
Appearance: 7.5 / 10
Opening: 4.5 / 10
Final Score: 6 / 10
This is an interesting though... What are the best Video Game door opening sequences? I'm struggling to think of any off the top of my head.
Cocoon?@@Big_Red1
Now I understand why Lingo is not really Tyler's go-to puzzle game, even if he loves exploration. The game must be aesthetically pleasing too (idk about his opinion on that). I'm pretty sure he doesn't like most of the navigation parts; There are a lot of teleports happening invisible to the player. At least the color and height concepts are interesting enough though.
Lingo exploration is just there to piss you off with warping hallways and hidden panels to open doors.
The game's really fun when you're solving panel puzzles, but finding them is kinda irritating, especially the end game panels scavenging part (mastery and counting panel on level 1 / dice and letter panel on level 2)
Love this series, everytime a watch it runs by really fast and I can't wait to see how Tyler explores it next time
I like how the tiny power chord is connected to the giant railgun-esque laser emitter
I can't wait! N1 not only has an excellent mechanic, but the area is a *lot* more explorable than it seems to be at first. It was also the first time I ran into a puzzle that popped the 'more than 20 minutes' achievement. Looking forward to see how quickly Tyler smashes it.
kudos to Dan and Ben! the editing hits so good in this series!
Banks also said that "most civilizations encounter an Outside Context Problem only once and in much the same way a sentence encounters a full stop."
"we need to leave the megastructure"
"ok, top priority is getting back into the megastructure"
???
On the one hand, sure. Outside context problem.
On the other hand, it's literally speaking their language through puzzles and beams.
Mannnn these episodes can't come fast enough. I can see why this one meets Tyler's writing requirements, I'm in it just as much for the story as for the puzzles at this point
Thinking about all the sci fi and fantasy stories. All the technology, magic, and eldritch horrors humans have thought of it is kinda terrifying to think there could be technology so advanced no human ever has thought of it.
I mean that's basically constantly been happening, look at older scifi stuff and you get things like time machines flying cars and all kinds of crazy things but no one ever thought of a cellphone
@@societalmenace7952 i mean, star trek did kinda think of a cell phone before they ever happen. I do get your point tho.
@Piman1607 yeah I thought of that immediatly after I sent but its not quite the same
The Talos Principel's creators are people of culture. The Culture. By name-dropping Iain Banks.
I'm just so happy that I get this and About Oliver's playthrough of TTP1 eveey week.
12:00 now i know the pain of realizing the solution before tyler did, IT’S RIGHT THERE, THE CONNECTOR WAS IN THE RIGHT SPOT YOU JUST NEED TO CONNECT SOME STUFF AND PUT IT BAAAAAACK!!! D.:
This game is absolutely insane. It wasn’t enough to have a strong puzzle element, no, the developers had to give it a fascinating and deeply philosophical story and absolutely breathtaking environments!
Talos Principle 2 vidoes every other day?
LETS GOOOO
Love your stuff man, keep up the good work.
What really got me on this section was how all the puzzles were basically 1 off from the solution, yet because I didn't see it, it took hours to do. :(
Really like this series, keep it up!
the real pyramid was the friends we made along the way
and the puzzles we solved along the way
Guys believe in the internal ramp method that’s the way they built the big trangles
2:38 really reminds me of that one map from Halo: Combat Evolved
Love the in jokes and references Tyler’s editors are including like the is one at 11:08
I tried mentioning this last video and it most likely drowned but you should link the previous parts or the entire playlist for this game in the videos discription
STRONG Rendezvous with Rama vibes in the beginning there
Calling it now: the pyramid is Athena's final resting place, either literally or figuratively.
The idea of the great filter makes way more sense in applying to robots when humans didn't all get sick and die from disease. As it is, kinda weird
Hi Tyler, love this series, but could I ask if you would switch to third person mode? I feel like it will be better for the viewers to see more of the environment and the puzzles themselves.
Tyler glitching with the game is a great touch
i'm making a formal complain now, why is this episode so short? i mean i still did enjoy this [as i usually do], but you left my thirst thriving for more
Let’s go, i was hoping that todays video was continuing with talks principle 2
I freakin love your comedy style lol, just got back from being sidetracked with your The Witness gamplay 😎
the putting the thing through the hole was your context proplem
Funny to see mr. Alien Rock get stuck at 11:13 when he usually blows past everything
The frozen area makes me a little mad because it has the one puzzle I didn’t solve on my own
Which one was that?
@@Ed_McArdle i think it was 8, I don’t hate the solution, the angles were a bit odd, but I just didn’t solve it
@@showd6229 Ah I remember that one, it did seem slightly unfinished to me too
@@Ed_McArdlenever mind it was interplay the lost puzzle
The secret is probably the internal ramp theory.
This is what happens when you go to sleep watching Wirtual’s streams folks. Stay safe out there, the mind rot could get you too.
on the outside section you needed to solve puzzles to get to the tetris bridges.
on the inside you need to solve the tetris bridges to get to the puzzles.
i wonder what you will need to do another layer in?
You need to solve the bridge puzzles to get the Tetris.
@@joelbaker9366 so basically like talos 1 with bridges?
would certainly fit theme
@@happyhafer1403 I was thinking more like what happens when you get a tetris, but in this case, that would be rather catastrophic.
13:47 And of course, the COCOON video game doors are a 10/10.
14:24 Roll credits!
the editor has been going so fucking hard lately and i love it
This game is gorgeous
I love this guys content
Dan is the best editor, change my mind.
Im loving this
I may need to buy this game just for the philosophy.
It's worth it!
mann that outside context problem in modern day terms would be The Sentinelese tribe in the Indian Ocean , witnessing a night time drone show of at least 1000 drones making an image like at the 2022 burning man or even more recently the 3K drone Sheik Zayed Festival 2023
Just got 100% in the game so now I’m comfortable watching without risking spoilers 😂
1:58 *tylers thoughts on treating his editors like human beings instead of slaves*
The Talos Principle- CREDITS ROLL.
Someone watched CinemaSins lmfao.
This is such a great game! ALGOOOOOOOOOO
Cool game, too smart for me. :< Thank you tyler
09:09 The streams aren't crossing! He should've at least tried to set it up before making that assumption. Would've saved him half the time he spent on that puzzle.
13:53 yeah these doors got nothing on Cocoons doors
Poor door, not even a passing grade.
12:00 whats wrong with bringing the connector closer to the hole?
Someone get the MC a memory upgrade so they can use those archives without everything going all glitchy.
WHAT A GAME!
That's it, that's the comment
Was... was that a DOOR REVIEW? When will you start singing intros?
Sorry Tyler, couldn't refrain XD Love you!
Pyramids are like Ogres - they have layers.
I did the exact same thing at the connector and the drill 😂 search the whole map instead of placing it through the hole
How is it that Tyler hired the greatest editors on the platform?
What secrets does he have to his hiring practices?
idk how, but Yaqut's voice SOUNDS green
The inside of the pyramid is literally star wars space ship
AWESOOOMEEEE
The baron wants to find out 11:09
I keep looking at the Iron man connector on the chest of my green and red travel companions..... are they the final puzzle?
I don’t play destiny anymore. But does anyone remember how absolutely terrifying it was to enter the pyramid for the first time? (Not the pyramidion)
Command spell: puzzle Maximus
He should play Shadow Gambit: the cursed crew
There will be closed Island of Insights playtest soon. Are you going to participate?
The puzzles and graphics of this game are gorgeous, but it feels like the writing spent too long sniffing its own farts at some points
The androids blink.
Not frequently enough.
13:21 first time I’m faster than Tyler😊
Have you played Q.U.B.E 2, Tyler?
he did the pam
Video 2 of asking Aliensrock to play Void Stranger
Hi Tyler❤
There’s a pyramid inside the pyramid so that’s pyramid ^2
Illuminati moment
Pull the lever kronk 7:41

Whenever they say the player character's name, I hear Wonky instead of 1K.
Hello!
Day 1132 of telling Tyler that he never finished his minecraft series and that he should finish it.
Edit:wrong day number. Went from 1133 to 1132
i don’t think tyler’s minecraft series was good but i am continuously impressed by how long you’ve kept this streak going
I admire the dedication but Tyler clearly doesn’t wanna do it
He doesn't have to finish it.
Wow the determination
I don't want a Minecraft series because your comments are more enjoyable.
Let’s goooooo
lets go 1 min ago!!!!!!!1111
Serious Sam 2 mental institution?
Just use the helicopter (:
Day 15 of asking Tyler to make a video about the peglin update
Day 85 of asking you to play cult of the lamb (it don't count as a day missed unless you upload a new vid)
Maybe first!
