Great vid. I got my first flock in July, 2 amaraucanas, 1 Easter egger and 2 buff orpingtons. And I really notice our poor Easter egger is the odd girl out. She came from the same place as our amaraucanas and never really considered that she was from a separate flock😢
We will definitely be getting our girls in 2’s going forwards.
Love my 2 Ameraucanas - good natured, active, curious and friendly - blue eggs a bonus!
@@joannc147yea they are so sweet compared to the others. I love that they always like to cuddle up

Nooice! 😎 STOC
So informative, I only have 5 chickens that are Wyandotte. In Kentucky we have to buy minimum of 6 chicks so I have hesitated to add to my flock. Maybe next year!
Thank you for your comment. I'm certain when you are ready you will be very well prepared to welcome new flock members. It is great to start small and grow your flock gradually when you can plan and expand thoughtfully. Keep up the great work taking excellent care of your chickens!
I’ve got 8 hens representing 6 different breeds. When my original group was down to 5 birds, I added 4 more once they were fully feathered (lost 1 due to hawk attack). It was a rough couple of weeks, but they’ve integrated well. They free-range and stick together. I did my research before purchasing chicks so I would have a group of “social” birds.
I'm glad to hear everyone integrated well. Thank you for sharing your experiences with your flock. Glad you are here on the channel!
I let my new chicks gradually integrate a few minutes in the evening out in the yard free ranging. Then after a few weeks I move them all into the same pin.
Thank you for sharing insights from your lived experience with your flock.
