The thing with the info bar is it can be distracting, as I've found firsthand. Especially if you're in a 1v1, I find myself constantly taking glances at it to see if I'm doing well, which means I lose focus on the notes and cock up at some point. Turn it on if you're confident you won't get distracted by it.
For the up and down scroll it really depends on the players preference on what they are good at either down or up scroll i personally prefer up scroll for me if you want to improve on down scroll or up scroll you can practice each one of them whenever you like
Upscroll actually makes you focus more or if you just started using upscroll since you probably played stepmania or fnf before ff, or maybe you started with ff like me
I wouldn’t recommend down scroll as a rip for mobile players. I am a mobile player on funky Friday myself but when I tried downscroll a lot of the time my fingers blocked the arrows which made me miss a lot so that’s why I don’t recommend down scroll for mobile.

As a mobile user, I find down scroll and middle scroll better than before but if that's a problem try moving the arrows further away.

Downscroll isnt "better to read" but instead it's just preference, i use upscroll and my eyes don't get hurt
