Rewatched the game, over 60% of Limerick's wides were actually scoreable - Tom Morrissey's misses are usual points for him. Flannagan's misses were definitely low percentage shots that he usually will work it back to the half forward line coming on to it. Hegarty missed an easy score, and a few others should have contributed a point each. Limerick definitely left about 8 points behind from the 15 wides/drop shorts they had. If you look at the build up to the wides, the play and build up was excellent. It literally was their finishing. That is a calibration/game time issue that can be easily rectified. If Limerick had converted those scores, their general play would be lauded as intricate. Now there were a few times they overplayed the ball out of the backs but that was more so down to Clare having excellent cover and press. Clare lost their shape as they were wrecked, you could see it in the last 15 minutes, they were struggling to move the ball or even move into space for the ball. Possibly due to overexerting themselves keeping Limerick under wraps.
