I've had an Oru for half dozen years. I love it! Some of the happiest times of my life have been in my Oru.

It's highly valuable to us to be able to keep these 2 boats in our trunk and get on the water in only minutes. Even if we had hard boats, I realistically wouldn't use them as often, as I'd have to strap them onto the Subaru after getting them out of storage. The price is an understandable *gulp* but it's all about the individual's intent and needs!
Wow. Those look amazing. The price is reasonable when you consider their ability to transport without added modifications to your vehicle and practically zero storage space needed. I think they look great for folks who just want to experience the sport but have small cars or other limitations. Can't wait to see more adventures with these.

I bought a blow up kayak , holds two, for almost 500.00. My son in law has used it to fish inland waters. I loveeeeee the Oru and I know he would, too. It will be my next purchase for their family. Great for exercise and peace during pandemic! Super video, Elsa Rhea, Barron and Kamp.

As soon as you guys posted that you had gotten these I've been waiting for the feature video. You did not disappoint and if it wasn't for the price and the fact I have a lil inflatable kayak around the same size, i would be running to get this!

If you do get a puncture, is there a patch kit? And how reliable is the patch? I’m used to patching canoes. I really like the fact that the Oru’s have such a wide flat bottom. I normally avoid kayaking because they roll so easily. And while I understand that the price point is a turn off for some people, a well made canoe will cost as much or more and you need roof racks to transport it, storage at home and a second strong person to load and unload it. There was a time that I could load a canoe myself, but those days are gone. The timing of this video is perfect for me. I have a small inflatable old emergency life boat from an ex-boyfriends airplane, but I worry about its integrity given its age and it doesn’t easily hold my dog and there’s the inflation issue. I’m going to give the Oru’s some serious consideration. Thanks!!! 🙌🏻👍🏼😍
Snarky . Live Actually, I was able to find the patch kit on the Oru’s website and there’s no goop, as you put it, involved. The patches are pieces of plastic with glue on the back.

I'm sure they are a small company and just don't have the volume to offer a lower price. But the ELSA code helps quite a bit! AND like she said - you don't have to invest in a roof rack.

Very true about cost that come alone with a regular kayak! I learned the hard way and I don’t even have the kayak yet lol just the blades to the car rack 😞

I had never heard of these or even knew origami kayaks existed until this video. About 1/4 the way through I knew I had to have one! I waited around awhile because we’re going into winter but finally told myself it was time when I saw the back order times creeping up over the last few months. Lead time was 5 - 8 weeks already when I grabbed my Inlet. I think the price is right on given the convenience. And since I used the 0% financing option it’s easier to swallow in payments each month. After all, I spend more on drive through coffees. I’m so pumped!

Hi guys! I’ve been binging your tubes all last week. Thanks for this review. I have a kayak but can’t get it on my roof of my Jeep -I’d have to drill holes for the roof racks. This is a most excellent idea. Love your videos. I’m a weekend off gridder - a backpacker. I’m waiting on October for our hiking season here in Texas. These look great! I like that this model has the larger opening. I sat in one of the keyhole types
at a boat show then found that since I was out of shape I could not lift my myself up with my arms. They had to start taking the boat apart around me like shucking a clam. Nothing wrong with that boat you see it was me. The sales lady was so kind as I told her I was sorry for drawing a crowd of people to their booth for wrong reason. She said they were in the process of designing one with a bigger cockpit. This must be the one. Thanks for sharing this video.

I have the Oru Haven! It can feel a bit wobbly in higher waves, but I love being able to quickly deploy and hit the waves. My model is for two people. Oh and yes, you do get people watching you deploy and pack your boat along with some questions from the more curious.

So cool. I just found ORU recently, and this is easy to store in my 24 ft RV vs a rotomolded kayak.
When those came out years ago, I was tempted....SOOO tempted to buy one. Unfortunately my kayaking is mostly in the ocean, chasing fish for tacos. I can't say that I won't have one some day though as they really are that cool and convienent. If you guys still get over to the NW Oregon corner, I'd love to meet up some time and do some kayaking with you.

Those kayaks are amazing! People who live in sticks and bricks homes don’t have the space constraints van and rv lifers have The price is a little steep, but when you consider the pluses and minuses, it still comes out as an awesome winner. It is going on my wish list for sure.

Ever since we paddled in a collapsible tandem kayak on Lake Powell we've wanted one of our own. Oru wasn't around then and we couldn't afford one till now but looking forward to getting on the water/putting our Haven TT together for the first time!

I am totally getting one of these! So so cool. Saw two out on the water yesterday.
I've only been kayaking once but I loved it! These look nice and chill with the wide, flat bottom. Definitely seems a worthy investment if you are an avid kayaker. It looks like a ton of engineering went in to designing these.

Lovely video! I've coveted the Oru since they first came out. I ended up getting a packraft since the Oru is still too large for my setup. But they are VERY nice and so elegant. Definitely attract attention - the packraft does too. :)

Back when this company was Folbot, there was a guy who traveled the world with one of these, and wrote a series of books about it.
I have two of his books somewhere in my house. I can not remember his name right now, or find the books in my cluttered house this late at night.
One of the many beauties of the folding kayak is that you can take it with you anywhere in the world as a piece of checked luggage, and have it with you in which ever water paradise you can afford to go to.
At any rate, when I buy one of these, and I intend to, I’ll probably have to get the two person version, because I cannot see my wife paddling one of these by herself.

Excellent video!! This totally got me interested 😁 Yes a bit pricey but I'm trying to weigh out the pros and cons of that sticker price. I will say this really gives you the ability to enjoy the water wherever you boondock! And a older beginner like me could do this 👵🏼😁 Excellent video! Ouch, the price is insane, but understandable..... will definitely keep this in mind for the future. We own two single kayaks and have two young kids that we bought an inflatable double for, for now. Very cool design! We have hard kayaks and yeah, they are hard to travel with. They work great on our boat, but with a 74 lb Lab puppy aren’t using them much these days.
