Someone needs to explain how it is that so many of the world's greatest choirs are in South Africa. One reason clearly is the richness that SA's many indigenous cultures bring to music, and to so many other areas of SA life. I know too that you can go to almost any of SA's educational institutions and find great choral music.
i’m being 100% serious... this is my favorite choir performance of all time. it brings me to tears every time i hear it. you can literally see and hear the pure joy in the piece and i love it so much. the voice blending, the clapping IN SYNC (which, as a choir singer, is near IMPOSSIBLE to pull off)... all of it is utter perfection.
We sang this song in many occasions during apartheid. It was one of the most spiritually uplifting song in times when it seemed God was against us but we had faith that one day we will grow old and gain liberation.
As someone who loves music, I must accept that the people who wrote most of the songs we sing in church, which are songs in the public domain, have such an amazing skills of song writing, their songs are filled with emotions, sad about the situation yet express happiness about God's enduring mercies and love.
Between sports and music these are the sincerest forms of inclusion, sharing, JOY MAKERS there is. I happy-cried all through this performance. The singing is incredible, the nostalgia of the songs and how they remind me of my late Father and his love for choral music back in my childhood. You guys are doing the Lords work!
Ukholo lwami ndonyuka nalo, ndilubambe ngesandla ndiyongena nalo ekhaya ezulwini. (I will ascend with my faith in my hands to heaven my home) Noma kunzima noma kulukhuni kodwa ukholo lwami ndiyongena nalo ekhaya ezulwini (Whether it's hard or difficult but I will ascend to heaven with my faith)

Tell me about it
Because because this is so good!!
Thank you that's good to know. I guess these are the things we take for granted as South Africans because we grew up with this culture
When they were going thru a lot they will express themselves thru singing. Trust me,I am yet to see a South African who cant sing😂
It's the pain man. Somehow struggle makes singing immaculate
@@lwazikhumalo212 Yes! Just as Tuku said.

If ever you wondered what South Africa is about this is it❤❤❤❤❤🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦😍😍😍 DIVERSITY, God....
100% we have our problems but we got soul.
Love being South African and here's to a brighter future.
Singing in our dialects and then pushing for their own country? Settlements that we cannot enter? Disingenuous.
Canada approves. I learnt about this song in 2016 when l was in Middleburg, South Africa. Up to this day it still resonates with my heart.
