This is pure gold thanks ariel, this brought back some memories of a time when people thought I was weird for watching cage fighting and now look where the sport is.. unbelievable thanks again.
This is pure gold! I want more of these types of videos all the time. Fascinating hearing Ariel paint the picture for every interview. I remember most of these interviews when they happened but hearing the behind the scenes and Ariel describing the feeling of each interview is tremendous. A+
Need to have the first ever Mike Perry interview at some point, was a classic, our first ever taste of Mike Perry as a character. The bit where Ariel had to hold back the laughter as Mike explained why he chose platinum as a nickname and the virtues of platinum as a material 🤣
Man this episode got me in reflection mode , I remember getting the the ufc undisputed game on launch , the game had a few free fights like Griffin vs bonnar Sanchez vs Guida Mir vs lesnar (lesnar vs mir 2 was on the second game along with lesnar carwin , it felt like a lesnar fight library ) Me and my brothers were sold (used to be heavy in wwe then) literally had to follow the sport through ultimate knockouts until they started broadcasting in my country around 2014/15 , mean while i actually attended EFC 10 (local promotion with over 100 shows now and notable fighters like ddp, fiorot) for my brothers birthday mad to think I’ve been following the sport for more than half my life. It’s mad to think I’ve watched every single event since gaetje vs Ferguson before the apex was created, I even willingly watched bellator and wsof to many I was a mad man I always say football is religion And now MMA is culture I love this sport Happy new year ladies and gents thanks for the content Much love from sunny South Africa 🇿🇦 ❤
I’ve been watching you for so long now man. Your first Connor interview always sticks for me. Also, the undertaker when brock walks past him after the fight.

If this doesn’t make you respect Ariel for his incredible journalism skills, I’m not sure what will. He’s a true legend in the sport, and these interviews have not only elevated the fighters but also the sport itself to new heights. They went viral at the time the sport needed as many eyes as possible. These are the facts. One of the best episodes. I genuinely hope it becomes a regular feature.
This video is fantastic! As someone who loves all things mma (ufc, boxing, wwe etc.) and everything that goes on behind the scenes this video is so freaking cool and a great portal to the behind the scenes! Thank you guys for this!
Absolutely beautiful. As an old MMA fan, who's first foray into the sport was watching any PRIDE event I could get my greasy little mits on, in the days before internet was still from a dial up modem, when NON of my mates were interested in it (they still aren't 🤣) I really cherish these harking back to the past moments, so a full episode is just bliss! Thanks for all you've done over the years Ariel, I don't agree with everything you spout but I do think you're about as genuine as they come, which is hard to find in this day n age. Big props to Ric, GC and all the rest in the back also!
Perfect timing for this. UFC is about to get even bigger and this is a great reminder of some of the greats from the past. Hopefully this will also encourage/ motivate folks to push for a Hall of Fame.
Modern Family being anyone’s favorite show is wild. That’s what I took from this video 😂 Although the trip down memory lane is nice and I hope this continues.
It really is so sad.. him and GSP got me into loving the sport of MMA and to try BJJ 12 years ago, I’m still so grateful that spike tv countdown was on.
Damn, I miss these interviews. It was the highlight of the fight week for me as a fan, to watch, yeah probably tens of these types of interviews. It really got me behind some of these guys, they were raw back then. These days every interview you see, feels like social media expert coached them. Or if not, than the most interesting ones are flat earthers :D the man and the mic is the best format, I wish it could be brought back. Karyn Bryant was also great with these interviews. Brought a whole different perspective... before the metoo stuff :D people were wild those days.
Damm watching some of these reminds me I’m getting old lol i remember watching some of these fights live at my friends how’s when I was in high school cause his parents had spike tv and would buy PPVs lol
Thanks for all the positive feedback! We will do more of these, no doubt.
Curious: which interviews would you like featured in future episodes?
Alistair birthday king
Also, please have legends on more regularly. Would be nice to hear what they’re up to and their reactions to current mma news
Us jews and blacks have to stick together should have been a more popular clip
Idk but I enjoyed this format! Good stuff
The Dana White “Business as usual” interview
Do a reaction to old Dana interviews. The Fedor P4P debate comes to mind
This is pure gold thanks ariel, this brought back some memories of a time when people thought I was weird for watching cage fighting and now look where the sport is.. unbelievable thanks again.
This was brilliant. Like a mini biography. Ariel, you gotta do more of this. Everyone loves hearing context to go with the interviews.
Best episode of the entire year. Fantastic. I want more of this.

Please make this a regular segment! I watched all these interviews the day they happened. It was great hearing your thoughts all these years later

And now MMA is culture
I love this sport
Happy new year ladies and gents thanks for the content
Much love from sunny South Africa 🇿🇦 ❤
the nick diaz interview you did was my fave, people like that get slapped!
I’ve been watching you for so long now man. Your first Connor interview always sticks for me. Also, the undertaker when brock walks past him after the fight.
I've been watching ariel since those nick Diaz interviews. what a ride its been just seeing these clips gets me fired up lol
I love how ariel just gives commentary and is saying what we are going to see hahah. Love it
Ariel is the GOAT!
@RUclips sucks for commercials every 5 minutes.
It’s literally how they get paid

Exactly...premium is one if the few subscription that really is worth it. @adp8177
Man this is amazing!!! I like how u gave context to everything ariel and the gang!!
NIck Diaz is such a legend. I hope he's doing ok these days.
pure gold, Ariel.. big thanks for sharing! 👏👏👏
Great way to remind the younger fans
Very inspiring story Ariel. You literally started from the bottom, now you here 🎉👍
Love it Ariel thanks for this kind of episode. You are an inspiration for new aspiring journalists ❤
Hopefully you do this again in the near future. It was great content without any real time interviews.
Stay killing it 💯
I love this so much and hope there will be more episodes like this!
Love Ariel. Been with me since 8th grade

Ariel just elevates the MMA content again and again and again, I love this content. Pure nostalgia, I grew up on this as a lifelong MMA fan.
Yes a man can be a big Nick Diaz fan, and love to watch the Ariel Helwani show!
You came a long way Ariel! Beautifull..
This video is fantastic! As someone who loves all things mma (ufc, boxing, wwe etc.) and everything that goes on behind the scenes this video is so freaking cool and a great portal to the behind the scenes! Thank you guys for this!
Loved this format and it was great to hear your perspective on these legendary interviews.
Thanks for all the great content over the years

I love the idea of this series, you've been around for so long and the backstory of all this is really interesting

Ariel Helwani is the goat of mma. People don't know how blessed they are to have them who are true mma fans and MMA fighters.
Loved this and I hope you do more! It's great sitting back and listening to the Ariel tales of old.
Great episode
Dope. Paul Heyman one?
Yep!
Long time fan, been watching through many variations/eras of the show. Love this idea, hopefully it becomes an annual thing.
this was great!
This was incredible! thanks! -Ariel you are a treasure
Great show gents. Good show idea, so nostalgic!
This make me wish I watched more of your interviews back in the day!
I've watched 100% of these interviews BACK THEN. By the time Ariel came on scene, I'd been watching MMA for years already!
God I love Nick Diaz
Ariel is the G.O.A.T.
great format!!!! i love your comments about your thought process during the interviews.
Ariel more more more!!! Love this type of stuff. Love knowing some inside stuff
Loved this back to the future episode! 🙂
Love these type of shows , the commentary and insight makes it the interviews so much more interesting
this was great happy new year to the team
Love this!! Keep it going 👌🏾
Great show gents. Different to every podcast
This is great content. Refreshing and nostalgic.

I really enjoyed this thank you. Should have shown the James Toney interviews as well!
Great episode I throughly enjoyed it.
Really enjoyed this can’t wait for more
Ariel really the goat of this
These episodes are going to be priceless pieces of mma history.
Loved this show! Inspirational & entertaining 😎🦅🇺🇸
I could watch ariel interview rampage all day
That series of interviews after the Brock fight is pure legend
This was the best times to be a mma fan
This was such a great segment! Bravo and here to continued success in 2025🎉
Incredible content. Love the inside scoop.
This is great. Love this.
Love this series idea, hopefully more to come!
Great to have content to consume during the break

Great call on this episode.
Gotta give respect when it’s due very cool idea and executed even better, Kudos!
Ariel’s the fuckin best
No, he's not.
Why?
Ariel's the fuckin beast 🔥
@@jefftheproducer1who’s better? 🤡🫵
@@jefftheproducer1yes he is.
This was incredible!
Ariel Helwani truly the OG of MMA media
Loved this!
You can get rid of the flannels but Ariel.. you can’t get rid of the SB’s.. you have so many amazing pairs and to not wear them is criminal. SB > NB
As a sneaker head whose favorite pair is SB dunks I gotta say NB are just so much more comfortable fam. It’s hard to choose but her NB for work 😭
Ariel has to do this more often. This was great
Modern Family being anyone’s favorite show is wild. That’s what I took from this video 😂
Although the trip down memory lane is nice and I hope this continues.
Oh yay I just got to the end and there will be more episodes like this 🥳🥳🥳🥳
Great behind the scenes, can’t wait to hear some of the behind the scenes stuff with Dana.
Ur interviews with rampage are legendary
Frank saying "the who me hits alot harder now" made me cackle out loud at work.
ariel you can literally make any type of content of you just talking or reacting and we'll watch
This was awesome.
Unreal how Nick Diaz mentally declined since then. Sad.
The fight game ain't kind
He’s on drugs
That video of his girlfriend yelling at him if his ok and him playing with fire is scary
Mentality probably the wrong word but I get what you were trying to say
It really is so sad.. him and GSP got me into loving the sport of MMA and to try BJJ 12 years ago, I’m still so grateful that spike tv countdown was on.
This is so good. I will never forget the undertaker one.
Top tier content, peak Helwani
Long time MMA fan…this was great

More classic Helwani please team ❤
MORE OF THIS, PLS!!!
That was awesome!
This is good stuff right here.
this is a good presentation
Great stuff
Great idea 💡
Yes do more please !
Rampage doing this after a championship loss made him a more historic moment than any fight ever could in that way, he took an L and made it a W
This is brilliant
This is why Ariel has no competition 1 of 1
I’ve seen interviews a million times especially the one where interviewed the attitude era.
Damm watching some of these reminds me I’m getting old lol i remember watching some of these fights live at my friends how’s when I was in high school cause his parents had spike tv and would buy PPVs lol
